EmmanuelUkaoha:
Nnamdi Kanu’s Conviction Under Fresh Legal Scrutiny as Lawyer Accuses Justice Omotosho of Introducing Uncharged Offences

A Nigerian lawyer, Christopher Chidera, Esq., has launched a fresh legal challenge to the November 20, 2025 conviction of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, alleging that the trial judge, Justice James Omotosho, relied on offences and statutory provisions that were not contained in the original charge sheet.

In a strongly worded legal briefing dated October 30, 2026, Chidera questioned the legal foundation of the judgment delivered by the Federal High Court in Abuja, arguing that the court allegedly departed from the prosecution's original charges and introduced a different basis of criminal liability at the judgment stage.

The briefing, titled "Forensic Legal Briefing: Why Omotosho's Judgment of 20 November 2025 (FRN v. Mazi Nnamdi Kanu) Is Completely Dead on Arrival," identifies two major issues which the lawyer believes could have significant implications for Kanu's ongoing legal battle.

Chidera's central argument is that an accused person cannot be convicted on a criminal accusation that differs materially from the one formally presented by the prosecution without being given an opportunity to defend against it.

Lawyer Identifies Alleged Change in Basis of Count One

One of the major issues raised in the briefing concerns Count One of the original charge sheet.

According to Chidera, the prosecution charged Kanu under Section 1(2)(b) of the Terrorism Prevention (Amendment) Act 2013 over broadcasts allegedly made in furtherance of an act of terrorism.

However, the lawyer argued that Justice Omotosho's reasoning in the judgment, particularly on Page 96, treated the broadcast itself as a preparatory act of terrorism.

He maintained that this represented a significant departure from the original formulation of the charge, which, in his interpretation, concerned conduct allegedly undertaken in support or furtherance of another terrorist act.

Using this distinction, Chidera argued that the trial court effectively changed the nature of the criminal liability after the defence had concluded its case.

He described the development as an unlawful substitution of the offence presented by the prosecution with a different theory of criminal responsibility.

Section 3 of Terrorism Act Becomes Major Point of Contention

The second major issue raised by the lawyer concerns Count Six and the alleged introduction of Section 3 of the Terrorism Prevention (Amendment) Act 2013.

Chidera claimed that Count Six of the original charge sheet specifically referenced Section 1(2)(f), while Section 3, which addresses international terrorism, was not included in the indictment.

He alleged that Justice Omotosho subsequently relied on Section 3 in his final reasoning and referred to its mandatory life-imprisonment punishment in connection with allegations involving threats against foreign diplomatic missions.

The lawyer questioned why the provision featured in the final judgment when, according to his examination of the charge sheet, Kanu had not been formally charged under that section.

He further argued that the defendant was not given a specific opportunity to answer an accusation under Section 3 during the proceedings.

For Chidera, the issue raises a fundamental question about the limits of judicial authority in criminal proceedings: whether a court can introduce a separate statutory offence at the point of delivering judgment.

Section 36(6)(a): Lawyer Cites Constitutional Right to Know Charges

Central to Chidera's argument is Section 36(6)(a) of the 1999 Constitution, which guarantees an accused person the right to be informed promptly and in detail of the nature of the offence for which they are being tried.

The lawyer maintained that the constitutional guarantee is intended to ensure that defendants understand the allegations against them and have a meaningful opportunity to prepare their defence.

He argued that if a court convicts an accused person on a materially different offence or statutory provision that was never included in the charge, the defendant's ability to defend the case could be compromised.

Chidera also cited several judicial authorities, including Aoko v. Fagbemi, FRN v. Usman, Okeke v. State and Madukolu v. Nkemdilim, to support his position on the requirements of a valid criminal conviction and the limits of judicial jurisdiction.

He maintained that a trial judge must determine the case presented before the court rather than introduce a new criminal accusation after the conclusion of the defence.

Lawyer Challenges Court of Appeal to Examine the Issues

The briefing also examines the potential implications of the arguments for Kanu's appeal.

Chidera argued that the Court of Appeal would need to examine whether the convictions were supported by the offences contained in the original charge sheet and whether the defendant received the constitutionally required notice of the allegations against him.

He identified two separate issues for appellate consideration: the alleged change in the basis of liability under Count One and the alleged reliance on Section 3 under Count Six.

According to him, an appellate court should not simply disregard these questions without determining whether the trial court's reasoning remained within the legal framework of the charges before it.

He further argued that an appellate court cannot substitute a new indictment or reconstruct the prosecution's case to justify a conviction if the original proceedings failed to satisfy constitutional requirements.

Chidera Demands Answers Over Legal Basis of Conviction

Concluding the briefing, the lawyer challenged those defending the judgment to explain how the conviction could stand if the trial court relied on a different basis of criminal liability and a statutory provision that was allegedly absent from the original charge sheet.

He posed the following question:

"How can a conviction stand when the trial judge changed the basis of criminal responsibility from an accessory charge to a primary offence after the defence closed, and imported an uncharged statutory provision under Section 3 of the TPAA 2013 that the accused was never called upon to answer?"

Chidera described the issues as central to the legal challenge against Kanu's conviction, insisting that the original charge sheet and the final judgment must be examined together.

His submission adds another dimension to the continuing legal debate surrounding the IPOB leader's conviction, particularly regarding the relationship between criminal charges, judicial findings and the constitutional right to a fair hearing.
MNK's predicament should make the masses see that might is right. If such can be done to an innocent man whose crime is only advocating for the right and freedom of his people and other oppressed peoples, what can't be done to the masses to ensure continued hold on power. It's all about Power, those who possess the Power control the narrative and decide the affair, for possession is 9/10th of the law.

Drama in Mbaise, Imo State as a groom reportedly abandoned his bride and their wedding ceremony out of anger.

According to reports making rounds online, the incident happened after the bride's family billed the groom a whopping N1.2 Million naira as bride price.

The groom, who was said to be furious over the outrageous bill, walked away from the wedding venue, leaving the bride and guests in shock.

Eyewitnesses said the bride was left in tears while family members tried to calm the situation, but the groom refused to return.

The video of the abandoned wedding has gone viral, sparking heated debate online. Some Nigerians said N1.2M is too much for bride price, especially in this hard economy, while others said the bride's family has the right to charge whatever they want for their daughter.

Do you think N1.2 Million bride price is too much? Was the groom right to abandon the wedding?

Politics › Re: So, Aso Rock Has Reportedly Gone Solar. by itzadorable333: 4:43pm On Nov 02
AngelSlay:
So, Aso Rock has reportedly gone solar.

And honestly, this is where the conversation gets interesting.

President Bola Tinubu had previously said that Nigerians should judge his administration based on its ability to improve electricity supply. The argument now being made is that if the President himself has moved to solar, what does that say about the state of electricity for ordinary Nigerians?

But rather than just making the claim, we want you to hear the explanation for yourself.

This is why we play videos like this. It is not enough for someone to say, “This person said this” or “This is what happened.” We want you to see and hear the evidence and make up your own mind.

In a video, Hajia Kemi Ashiwaju was asked about the President's decision to use solar power despite the promises around electricity on 99.3fm.

Her response was essentially this: the national grid is under enormous pressure, with a system originally serving a much smaller population now expected to serve a country of over 200 million people. According to her, the decision to use solar at the Presidential residence should therefore be seen as a way of reducing pressure on the national grid and making more electricity available to Nigerians.

She even argued that the President should be commended for going solar.

Now, whether you agree with that explanation or not, that's exactly why we are sharing the video.

Listen to it yourself.

Watch the full clip, hear her argument, and decide for yourself:

Does the President going solar mean more power for Nigerians, as she argues?

Or does it raise an even bigger question about why Nigerians are still struggling with reliable electricity?

What you think.
"...According to her, the decision to use solar at the Presidential residence should therefore be seen as a way of reducing pressure on the national grid and making more electricity available to Nigerians.

She even argued that the President should be commended for going solar..."
Hehehehe if not that 'nigeria's' literate laity are just glorified literates, the above statement alone should incite an enforced nationwide lockdown and demand for accountability from the government or an impeachment followed by an administrative overhaul.
Family › Re: A Marriage Does Not Run On Who Pays The Bills. It Runs On Who Leads. by itzadorable333: 4:34pm On Nov 02
marcusverum:
Both a man and a woman need to understand that marriage relies on mutual trust, understanding and partnership. Where it gets confused is what happens after that foundation is laid, specifically who is leading the home.

A man will always be the head of the home, irrespective of who is funding it. Leadership and income are not the same function, even though people keep collapsing them into one thing. A household can be funded by either partner, by both, or by neither consistently, and none of that changes who is responsible for setting direction, making hard calls and absorbing responsibility when things go wrong.

This is not saying a man's contribution does not matter. It clearly does. It is saying leadership was never meant to go to whoever earns more in a given season. Incomes shift, careers stall, emergencies happen, and a home built on shifting financial leadership has no stable leadership at all.

Build the trust first. The rest tends to sort itself out when that part is solid.

Should leadership in a marriage shift with whoever earns more, or stay constant regardless of income?
The man protects the family, the woman helps the man, the children obey the parents. Model Family.

We Shall Meet Our Guardian Angels

He shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. - Psalm 91:11.

Not until the providences of God are seen in the light of eternity shall we understand what we owe to the care and interposition of His angels. Celestial beings have taken an active part in the affairs of men. They have appeared in garments that shone as the lightning; they have come as men, in the garb of wayfarers. They have accepted the hospitalities of human homes; they acted as guides to benighted travelers. They have thwarted the spoiler’s purpose and turned aside the stroke of the destroyer.

Though the rulers of this world know it not, yet often in their councils angels have been spokesmen. Human eyes have looked upon them. Human ears have listened to their appeals. In the council hall and the court of justice, heavenly messengers have pleaded the cause of the persecuted and oppressed. They have defeated purposes and arrested evils that would have brought wrong and suffering to God’s children. To the students in the heavenly school, all this will be unfolded.

Every redeemed one will understand the ministry of angels in his own life. The angel who was his guardian from his earliest moment; the angel who watched his steps, and covered his head in the day of peril; the angel who was with him in the valley of the shadow of death, who marked his resting place, who was the first to greet him in the resurrection morning—what will it be to hold converse with him, and to learn the history of divine interposition in the individual life, of heavenly co-operation in every work for humanity!

With the word of God in his hands, every human being, wherever his lot in life may be cast, may have such companionship as he shall choose. In its pages he may hold converse with the noblest and best of the human race, and may listen to the voice of the Eternal as He speaks with men. As he studies and meditates upon the themes into which “the angels desire to look” (1 Peter 1:12), he may have their companionship.

Prayer:
Our Father in heaven. Thank You for another wonderful message today. Thank You Lord for assigning Your angels to keep watch over all through life's journey. Help us to always study Your word so we can commune with holy angels. Lord, forgive our sins and grant that we will gain complete victory over sin. Keep supplying all our needs according to Your riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Give us good health that we may testify to all of Your goodness to us. Thank You Lord for hearing our prayers for we have asked in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and soon coming King, Amen!

jesusjnr2020:
Even the founder of church of Satan, Anton Lavey openly confessed that he's happy that Christians let their children use a day in the Calender year to worship Satan.

However despite these shocking revelations made concerning halloween celebration by ex-satanists and even Anton Lavey himself, many Christians have still continued to join the world to celebrate halloween.

Yet they wonder why many of their children were turning wayward and ungodly, and doing profane things they never taught them.

That's one way Satan gets access to their young minds to pollute and influence them, so they start misbehaving from a young age, and by the time they're older they could hardly depart from that rebellious way.

Hence why the devil loves to catch them young.

Therefore parents should be careful of what they expose their children to, such as the Halloween celebration which is 100% Satanic.

So they don't end up with children whose minds the Satan has taken full control of by the time they're adults.

God bless.
