Hello Everyone. Thanks to Oga Bellong who created this thread. You are forever blessed Sir. To others who have helped selflessly and who are still actively contributing, thanks too.

On the 28th of March,2018 i got a negative assessment from AIQS. I had given up.I was advised by my case officer to appeal. On this thread i got in-touch with @qstomiwa and he guided me through my appeal process. He did this selflessly.He went through all my appeal documents and repackaged them. God bless you Tomiwa.

I followed Tomiwa's advice and recommendations from the assessors of my first application strictly and appealed. I got a positive assessment on 9th of August, 2018. My UniUyo BSC Quantity Surveying Degree that was previously not recognised because UniUyo was not recognised by CEP online was now recognized. My Unilag Masters Degree was recognized. My Work experience was recognised from when i got my BSC. QS Degree. Tomiwa was the brain behind the repackaging.

Thanks to @qstomiwa once again and to everyone helping in all ways.

As long as you can substantiate you performed some qs roles you are good to go.in the organization you work do you have any one who has an MRICs designation who can write a reference letter for you?what's your degree grade?do you have masters? .I have friends who got positive assessments from Aiqs.Mine came out negative,the reason was my big technology University did not meet their core competencies perhaps because I had a second class lower grade.and as long as your studies do not meet their core competencies your working experience do not count.I was advised to go get a masters in Quantity surveying or Construction management in an unaccredited school and work extra 2 years by AIQS then reapply or better still Go for a one year accredited msc and work for one year(both path ways must be under a supervising Quantity Surveyor)

I graduated with a second class lower too but I don't think that is relevant. I don't have masters degree as well and I'm 28.

I have some qs in my organisation in facility management department and procurement but I have no idea if they have MRICs certification.

You don't need to wait for two years to reapply. AIQS have issue recognising Btech quantity surveying. You need to apply for reassessment and have your school confirm to them the courses you took and their equivalent with AIQS.
Please search qstomiwa posts. He graduated from Futminna. He faced the same hurdle, he applied for reassessment and he finally got a positive assessment.

Most Nigerians youth would fancy traveling abroad to better their lives, which is not a bad thing. In fact, some people's lives have changed for the better only because they traveled out of Nigeria.
However, this thread is about those who chose to return home for reasons such as
1. Inability to get legal papers to continue to reside there.
2. Personal choice
3. Better Job offers
And by Abroad, I mean developed “1st world countries “like USA, UK, Canada, Australia, Germany etc

As a Nigerian in Diaspora myself, one of my good friends (We both in our 30s’) who is Ghanaian is ready to go back to his country. He has been very frugal here saving over $100,000 cash/yr for the past 3 yrs. He says he has dedicated 3yrs of his life to working so he can set himself up for life. He worked as a health care support worker, taking care of the disabled and aged ppl, a job man people will consider dirty. His plan includes buying affordable rental real estate that can generate passive income. And retire at age 50. He is also good with stock trading and does that to generate some money on the side, something he can do anywhere in the world. He has plans to also go into politics as he feels he can impact his hometown.
Some of his concerns include:
1. Inclusion: Despite how well-spoken and intelligent he is, he never feels like he belongs here especially when he is being racially profiled.
2. Women are Powerful here. I have known this guy for a while and he is a decent Christian, but by marrying her he could lose everything he has worked for if things go south. The government does not want to know who is right or wrong oo, they would cut your assets and leave you to pay child support.
3. Loss of culture: He fears when he has kids, his children will lose a sense of their culture and tradition
4. Old age: Old age here can be scary too, especially when you grew up in Africa where we have a family-orientated family structure. When you are old here and can't support yourself. Families dump their aged parents in aged care facilities. Not the fault of the kids but it's how the system is run.

Anyway, I was wondering why don’t Nigerian’s dream the same dream. Some Nigerians turn out to be very successful abroad, but many are just living paycheck to paycheck and would be better off returning home where the money has much more value. 1USD = N505. Or is Nigeria so bad, that opportunities don’t lie in it? Remember the Indians, Chinese come here to take advantage.

I must give credit to Nigerians. We dey Hustle. God. Nigerians dey try.

It was when I met a 40yr old oyinbo that has retired that I started thinking deep that there is more to life than working working working.
Haven said all these, I know my country and the many issues we have. Security, healthcare, family or village people, etc. but Still, Are many Nigerians not better off going back home with all they have saved Abroad. Let's not forget, Banky W, Tinubu, Tiwa savage, Some Top Bank executives, and corporate ppl all returned home. Had they remained abroad, they could still have been just ok but maybe not as successful.
So this takes me back to the question

How do u mean u measure the least u can make...if u don't work u will not make shishi. Even if u open a supermarket with 10m, if u don't stock it with the right products and come everyday to open shop u will not sell.

Best way to enter a business is to know the potentials in it, find out the secrets, then work towards maximizing and achieving the highest standards.
U must find out the market size and value, then determine what percentage of this market is okay for u if u put in the work the business entails.
No matter how juicy a business is, if u don't do d basics u will not get anything from it.

That analysis is for everybody, as a partner u take what concerns u, as a driver u take what concerns u, as a partner driver u can see what concerns u.
