AutosRe: Picture Of The Acura 98 by Ivvie: 7:27pm On Oct 16, 2007
I'll loosen it to you.  Toyota Inc. seperated Lexis from Toyota to usher a new market of luxury and refined models with steeper prices.  No one will buy a Toyota at a price of a Lexus.  Besides, Toyota had a lot of mess going on at the time plus the Lexis trademark that was infringed on.  We have Lexus and we have Toyota and nothing as Lexus Toyota.

The naming nomenclature was taken by other manufacturers when the market became successful except for Mazda.  The exact derivative is what we were referring to with your Honda Acura.  There is no such thing.   At the dealerships, they are regarded as two seperate bodies and you cannot cross-part or cross reference the two brands with themselves.  Both cars are built on the same chassis, same engineers design and stress analyse the vehicles but to the public, it's presented on an isolated plate.  As for Nissan's, the Infiniti is another rebadged Maxima.

No doubt, Sultaan knows and has knowledge about cars and Honda's to be precise.  He has detailed explanations in posts that are narrowly detailed.  Never despise anyone, you cannot tell tomorrow. You might need his knowledge instead of being played in the near future. I respect him and acknowledge his knowledge.

Nobody is saying you don't have a car to sell, what we were saying was that there is no car badged Acura Honda.  It's either Acura or Honda.
CultureRe: Why Are Nigerians So Abusive And Insulting? by Ivvie: 5:12pm On Oct 16, 2007
Seriously, I have noticed it.  They are rude also and a simple conversation amy turn out sarcastic or negative.  Besides nairaland, nigerians are not positive minded from my observation.  Some tend to raise their voices over soft spoken phrases. Some go as far as insulting one's parents.  I cannot understand it.  I want to believe it isn't culture.

@Lawless

You don't know who you are fooling with.  Look who is calling me a window shopper.  There is no enchantment against Israel nor divination against Jacob, so bury yourself seeing yourself in your dream.  You won't and cannot cage me.  Where is the education in Acura Honda?  There is no such thing as Acura Honda and it remains that way.  You seem not to know the way of being civil.  Where is the Acura Honda that you are talking about?

I am in no way looking for a car to buy.  Acura Honda indeed is a catch of curiosity.  With respect to Sultaan, his understanding is cognitive about vehicles and has experience on Honda's.  That's his credibility to fall back on.

If you decided to humble yourself and see the point of view, you'd have corrected the post title.  ,  and you call us ignorant.  What you have laid before your market is eating your cake and having it.  Acura Honda is none existence.  Inconclusive!  I don't know what else to say.  I can only sympathise with you.

I don't believe I came lashing at you.  It's a free world and everyone's entitled to an opinion.  Why the insult?  I believe the right thing to have done is to have questioned the opposition and then you see where you erred in black and white.

The wish the best in your sales (with all sincerity).

AutosRe: The Issue With American Suvs In Nigeria. To Do Or Not To Do. by Ivvie: 7:59pm On Oct 14, 2007
There is no Jeep or American vehicle that will last you 250000 without draining your wallet.  They aren't built to last that long.  By 50,000 miles, they are money pits and they don't ride well.  Everything begins to fall apart.

Toyota's are built well, though underpowered. They are designed for 10 years, 200,000 before it gives up on you. Jeeps are gas guzzlers (no doubt smiley )
AutosRe: Help With A New Key/remote by Ivvie: 7:57pm On Oct 14, 2007
$99 is what you will pay at the dealership for a keystyle remote. The remote on eBay wasn't OEM. Remotes could be cloned. I just wouldn't pay that much for something that isn't original equipment. That was pricey.

There should be a penalty for not using OEM. I understand dealerships are overpriced but what would be the main difference? I guess in a few months or years, the range would diminish drastically. Any idea?

Dno

The nairaland-girls have made it clear that they aren't wife-materials. To be honest, to find what you are looking for (assuming your standards are princey), a lot has to be met. Such girls are scarce and you may see them and disregard them. If you spot them and you aren't their type, they'll simply avoid you or use wisdom to dissociate themselves from you.

just a few cents

The nigerian girls in Houston are straight loud and so sarcastic. No sense of dressing and can easily be categorised. Their intonations are one of a kind especially when they take it upon themselves to be among those that can't speak proper english.

That is what is described as "hum" and the entire principle is Humanity. It's all new age doctrine. Power within yourself, realising your true self and other crap that elevates and creates awareness of the next level of consciousness. To be honest, Christianity describes it as witchcraft.

Abacha wasn't the most ruthless dictator from the list of titles you expressed, he is well known as the only dictator to die in the laps of prostitutes when others couldn't rid him. Oprah is also one of the most dangerous women on earth. It may seem hard to understand but true.

AutosRe: The Issue With American Suvs In Nigeria. To Do Or Not To Do. by Ivvie: 5:51pm On Oct 13, 2007
Avoid anything that is Chrysler - that goes to say Jeep whatever unless you are savvy. If you want to go offroad, you need a Wrangler because of its short wheelbase frame. Anything else, you are wasting your time.

American 4 X 4's or 2 X 4's are not reliable in the States, so it wouldn't survive in Nigeria. They are gas guzzlers and use up so much resources and it's efficiency is poor. They roll over and perform like pickup trucks. The best part of it is that they can't off-road.

It doesn't matter how you take care of an american vehicle, it's designed not to last. They are built bad. Anything on a bad foundation will never hold up it's image, no matter how fancy.
FashionRe: Can A Guy Use Nair And/Or Veet? by Ivvie: 5:01pm On Oct 13, 2007
There are other brands in the market, why must a man opt for a woman's product. As for the females talking about being disgusted about hairy features, do you want to compare with todlers?

Men's skin are coarse and women's fine in texture. Shaving lotion for women may not be ideal for men due to its intended purpose. , and why would a man shop at the ladies section for his own benefit?

@Ivvie, not all girls oooo abeg
because i'll never be caught dead in any of those kinds of clothes,
Most def' we'll always have one or two odd balls but the vast majority is considered "all girls."  For instance, carefully read post # 33.  How do you justify that against this thread?  I'm not judging anyone, it's the reality in life.  There is a saying in Louisiana, "all girls are hoes until proven otherwise."  Not like the girls don't know, as a matter of fact, some find security in that statement because of the sense of "class" associated to it.

You can hardly go down the street without seeing a girl that doesn't fit the dictionary's description of a harlot.  There aren't dressed scantily because they aren't matured but because of the attention they crave towards themselves.  They'll also put a mean look on their faces.  It's all a front.

You are talking NewAge under the principles of Humanity. The same philosophy Oprah teaches. It'll only twist you deeper in bondage. You have no power of your own especially when God judges.
FashionRe: Skimpy Dressers: Confidently Shy, Stupid, Or What? by Ivvie: 12:07pm On Oct 13, 2007
There is no such thing as being sexy or dressing sexy. What a girl has is what other girls have, thus being equal. It is called seduction - in other words, a sunken state of mind. Let black be black and white be white and not deceive yourself hollering grey.

AutosRe: Car Without Engine Number by Ivvie: 8:56pm On Oct 11, 2007
Engine number and VIN are two isolated descriptions. Specs and variances can be determined through the engine number. VINS are for marketing and identification purposes issued by ISO. If I am correct, it's only limited to the United States.

Every car has an engine number. Not every car has a VIN. When registering a car in most countries including Nigeria, the engine number forged on the block is used.

Girls that dress like that show that they are immoral and lack judgement. I want to believe they have split personality. It's the same person that decided to mount that outfit that decides to cover her shame in public. I wonder when breasts became fetish and fashion. It's only fat and everyone has one. Why the public display? I think the same happened sometime in China when everyone wanted small feet.

You cannot know where you are going if you don't know where you are going.  A leaf that doesn't understand it's a leaf and doesn't want to know the tree of its origin is in serious trouble.  Everything has a foundation.  People have foundations and the most difficult of problems are foundational problems because they keep recurring and reintroducing problems of different types.  They slide under your fortress of protection.  The psalmists made it clear that if the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do.  Many pastors run from this art of prayer because it's an entire warfare from the "feeling good type of prayer."  She'll have to start from there.  She knows what's bothering her.

I have a simple question - why do Nigerians condemn harshly especially when someone's seeking help or advice?  I have noticed it throughout nairaland.  It's like it's everyone.  Some pour heavy insults and go even as far as insulting one's parents. I had to caution a person. Why's that?

It happens in life - you aren't the first.  It's been going on and will still occur tomorrow.  She is a waste of time and wicked.  You are going to have to deal with the emotional side and it'll be a lesson to guard against the future.  There are plenty other girls - just don't fall the second time.  She is conscious of what she is doing.  Leave her to continue counting bridges.  Be sure not to take her back when she is done galivanting.  She'd be of tarnish cluster.

The truth is that, she isn't the ordained one created for you.  I am certain that you found those traits in her and still compromised?  I might be wrong, because some people are just good in deception.
AutosRe: Hit 300km/hr On 3rd Mainland Bridge With My Maxima, (check D Pic Out) by Ivvie: 5:25pm On Oct 06, 2007
Running a Maxima through a dyno still will not output 300Km/h. Many car components would have given up due to several laws of meterial mechanics. It's a $20,000 car built with the intention of taking its owner from point A to B. The biggest '06 Ford truck (Expedition) has a big V8 engine and it's built with no intention of being efficient with resources and engine management. Yet, at 95mph, it's out of breath. At that point, pushing the pedal fulfills the "law of diminishing returns." It's also floaty at high speeds. Some people are still yet to understand the concept of auto design. Imagination is far from reality in this field. Sometimes, field analysis tests differ from what has been partially differentiated and simulated.

what bmw do u have that is giving u blurry vision at 120km/hr on on 3rd mainland bridge? gush! 1982 3181 or what?    my '92 skirach sef used to do 180 pepperless on eko bridge not to talk of 3rd mainland. . .  speed demon ko, speed angel ni. . . Man change your car!!! your a baby in racing.

of which don't tell me it was u i met last saturday eve on 3rd mainland bridge after election trying to get even with my nissan with one tartared 3 series? go back and play crazy cars III on sega or family korp before  you come compete with the grandmasters on the real terrain.

@forum
my nissan is customized thats why the dials look like that, i bought it off some crazy chinese guy  and shipped it in last year, it's a eight cylinder (v8) fuel injected, turbocharged nissan engine. producing 310 brake horsepower and has a crankshaft initial speed of 2600 RPM. thats why i can hit crazy speeds effortlessly, and my alignment is standard thanks to pirelli tyres and alignment on awolowo road, that why i can take clear pictures with much stabilty and remember there were two of us in the car.

I am not fascinated by japanese cars.  The frame of that vehicle cannot hold a V8.  When a vehicle is designed, advance kinetics, dynamics and vibrational analysis is put to test and performance is optimised.  This also has to do with relative motion of the vehicle in relation to translational axes at high speeds for it's intended performance.  If you fitted a V8, without this principles in place, you have a sloppy car as far as I am concerned.  It'll take a lot of vibrational analysis and differentials to tame that engine to work in unity with the chassis at all speeds (and not just at idle).  That is not business for kids.  It is research, time consuming and money.  Also, you don't neglect heat distribution and discipation.

One of the jokes it that this vehicle is a front wheel drive.  Please you are going to tell me the V8 engine that is FWD.  I am majoring in Design Engineering, a member of the SAE and currently building with my team an F1 race car for a motosport contest. It's been built from scratch so I know what I am talking about.  A V8 with an FF engine configuration is a joke marinated with ignorance.  I will like to know a production or race car with FF layout, please.  There will be so much torque steer you'll be switching lanes as you wrestle with the steering down the freeway.  So, taking out a cell phone to take a still-picture your 6000RPM on your Maxima is completely impossible.  I don't know the cars released today nor what they offer but the principles in building a car, performance, control systems and other areas is what my discipline is.

Sure enough, Mine's don't make V8's for Maxima's.  They invest in the Skylines (of which I believe are 6 cyl).

Hybrid's complete nonsense!  The corporations are thieves and they'll suppress the society all because of profit.  We don't need GASOLINES to run our vehicles anymore. We don't need internal combustion.  Life is way past that.  That is what is blind and no one is willing to open their eyes because they are hynotised and too lazy to think for themselves.
