AutosRe: Benz 230 For Sale by Ivvie: 4:01am On May 11, 2007
Where I have my Benz serviced, the owner of the repair center had a 6.3 with mechacal fuel injector.  The Benz was for the era of the 60's but was a convertible.  He sold it for $190,000 after rebuilding it.  Mercedes' before '95 are expensive here because they are over-engineered.

I completely agree with you if that was your perspective about the technological approach.  ,  but in terms of ground-breaking, its a no.

@ user86666

We call it a pump or blower in mechanical engineering

As for your technology, would you call an eight spoke wheel with a lock nut a kind of technology over a five spoke wheel?  Its the same thing.  Having a supercharger doesn't substitute a naturally aspirated engine.  My Volvo is turbocharged with 5 cylinders and it's high pressured with a 2.5 dia exhaust.  A few months later after my purchase of the Volvo, I bought an NA vehicle.  To benefit from the turbo, I have to build up pressure within the manifold to enable to turbo to spool.  It's nothing new, compressor pumps were introduced in the 70's and most cars had it.
Car TalkRe: Mercedes Kompressor by Ivvie: 6:54pm On Apr 14, 2007
The compressor is an air blower in mechanical engineering or a pump.  I prefer two or four extra cylinders instead of a blower.   Kompressor is not the technology, it's a method of spicing a weak powered engine without the cost of redesigning the entire projects.  It's termed an after-thought.  All cars except asians don't use turbo or super chargers.

Power in kompressor or super chargers are limite because it takes power to produce power.  And for that vehicle, you only get power at low end and low torque performance.

I grew up liking Mercedes. But the truth today is that Benzes are crap.
Car TalkRe: Best SUV For Nigeria? by Ivvie: 4:15am On Apr 12, 2007
Babasin,

Since you own a Range Rover, you should purchase a set of Bilstein HD's.  I think they are monotubes.  They might have twin tubes for your vehicle.  The airmatic suspensions in Range Rovers are known to fail without warnings or cautions.  When one out of four fails, you cannot move or drive the 4 X 4.  Why that?!  You need to talk to Ford!  It's a good 4 X 4 and it's second to known in the world as far as mechanical engineering and it is no way like others.  , just FYI, it's not an SUV.    The Rover is not built on a truck or sedan's chassis.  It's unique on it's own and has it's stand-alone and auxillary gears.  SUV's don't because they are trucks (built on a pick-up trucks chassis (Explorer, Expedition)) or cars (built on sedans (over-rated chassis (outlander built on Lancer's chassis)).   This is why the Rover is different and will not tip over.  When I took Quantum mechanics, my professor said the Range Rover will climb a steep of 78degrees and he trashed the X5's.

Bilstein's are not expensive compared to the replacements you'll have to do to have the airmatics replaced.  It's $900 without tax for just one out of four.  They are mostly at the dealer for that.  Bilsteins are life warranted.  You won't have to buy another.

@Babasin

What's the year and model of your Rover?  You'll have to give me a while to do a search for you.  It's not usually a disc but a combination of discs.  I will see to it.  Open your door and look for the vehicle's information (if you can read it).  If not, just give me all you know.

RomanceRe: Equal Rights For Women In Relationships And Every Area. by Ivvie: 2:57pm On Apr 09, 2007
Gracious, Feminism is what you are asking for.  It won't pay in the long run.  A woman should have a covering.
RomanceRe: Marrying Someone Older Than You! by Ivvie: 2:56pm On Apr 09, 2007
It's not right. I can't even imagine it. An older woman is never a potential of your destined wife. Besides, you'll be experiencing lots of quarrels. It cannot go well.
RomanceRe: Guyz-can You Marry A Lady Older Than You? by Ivvie: 2:52pm On Apr 09, 2007
How can you marry an older woman huh!
RomanceRe: What Do African Men Want In A Woman! by Ivvie: 2:46pm On Apr 09, 2007
A nigerian man in his right mind will not marry a feminist and someone that can't cook.
RomanceRe: My Friend Is 'Dying' After Being Dumped by Ivvie: 2:37pm On Apr 09, 2007
I feel sorry for the fellow.  It'll take the grace of God to put him back.  He is whole that's why he's going through that trauma (broken spirit).  The girl is in pieces that is why she can swing from a person to another (in other words, fragmented).

I lived a while in Nigeria and infidelity does not split a marriage.  Going in and out of relationships dulls one's sensitivity.  Actually, dating prepares one for divorce and not a lifetime of marriage and commitment.
RomanceRe: How Can Nigerian Men Be More Romantic? by Ivvie: 2:06pm On Apr 09, 2007
It sounds queer for a man to be romantic or affectionate.  That is no way in a man's nature.  I want to believe it's desperation that makes people resort to such standards.

What you are asking for is an effeminate man.  A man love for power and a woman gives up power for love.  A union of this standard brings harmony.  The equation is power for love and vice v. for the woman.

An affectionate man, ha - that's funny and so unrealistic.

It doesn't go well with a man's nature. The essense of masculinity is power and a woman adjusts to the man she loves.

As for the chicken and flowers, I don't believe in such rituals. All I know is that you pay your bride-price and whatever it is, you meet up to it lest you have stolen someone. They hardly practice this but once upon a time, every culture did it. Divorce rate sky-rockets because prerequisites are not met for a marriage in a proper foundation.

Christianity EtcRe: Trousers Or Mini Skirts: Which Is A Sin? by Ivvie: 4:47am On Apr 09, 2007
The wicked shall be turned to hell and the nations that forget God.  The fact every one does something does not mean it is right.  The Lord will not hold back putting a whole nation to hell.  Exodus makes it clear that you should not follow the multitude to do evil.  Trousers on women is what a Christian calls wickedness and abomination.  These couldn't be done 50 years ago.  The more reason why divorce is flourishing without bounds or limits.  Plus, negative spirits encircle any human that cross dresses.  It's also a turn-off in the physical realm too.  The reason men don't complain is because most have learnt to embrace pervesion (perverts).  The Psalmist said "Lord, incline not my heart to practice iniquity."  It's unlady-like to be in trousers.

Mini Skirts - If you know the history to this, any decent girl wouldn't be caught in this circle.   A child of the devil started this in the late of '55 which ushered in the swinging sixties.

The worst so far is women wearing boxer-briefs (boxer shorts). This is so un-called for. Sin starts from something small and blows out of proportion when appreciated.
Car TalkRe: Why Buy A Hummer Jeep? by Ivvie: 5:54am On Apr 08, 2007
Hummer's by GM are Tahoes and Yukons with a different body kit or cabin housing. The parts go for each other. It's not worth spending money on American vehicles. The failure rates on these vehicles are very high over a short period of time.

As for the person that recommended an XC90; that must be a joke. If I am not wrong, that's an overpriced Ford Excape. The parts are interchangeable and built on the same chassis. This makes it cheaper for Ford. Volvo isn't what it use to be. They are not even options for Nigerian roads.
Car TalkRe: How Reliable Are BMW Cars? by Ivvie: 5:41am On Apr 08, 2007
You need to own one before you conclude on the slogan. BMW's are money pits. Not worth the time and money. If you want the 50/50 weight distribution, then you'll have to modify your suspensions and drop low the height to have a feel of the bavarian hot rod. They don't last! BMW's failure rates are high. The new Daimler Chryslers are worse. Today, the automotive corporations give their respect to Toyota. One of my colleagues drove his brand new BMW of the lot. It was a 545i, '07 (8Cyl). Down the freeway, enjoying his sports package, the vehicle stalled at 43 miles. It was towed and three days later, he was told it was an electrical problem. Those things are lemon's waiting to be noticed. Refer to http://www.bmwlemon.com/ for more (if you care).
AutosRe: Honda, Toyota And Nissan, Which One Is The Best? by Ivvie: 5:31am On Apr 08, 2007
Nissan's are overpriced pieces of scraps put together. Thin and light, that's why they are fast.
