@babasin

Sorry for the tardy reply. I'm afraid I cant answer that question. I reside in the United States and I know nowhere in Lagos but my church and my home. If I am not wrong, there is a digital tool that they'll have to use to switch language mode. If that option isn't available, then they'll have to reload or reflash the computer's software to either convert it to English or accommodate the English translation. I do believe it's a mode thing and you'll probably need a reset tool. You'll have to spend time on the internet looking for Rover forums. You will find a DIY (do it yourself) procedure on doing most things on your all season vehicle.

Another thing is the Service Manual or Service CD. It tells you everything about the vehicle and specifications, repairs and other settings. I am not referring to the Owners Manual. By law, manufacturers are suppose to release these informations in details to the general public but people depend on the dealer for everything and pay $199 an hours with a $99 diagnostic fee. If you don't have it, you can purchase it online. It'll include
Technical Information
Technical Bulletins
Technical Literature
Test Book Information
A Tutorial on how to fix, diagnose and repair mechanical problems

The CD can be bought too. If you are lucky enough, you can download it (if you find it anywhere). Everything about your vehicle will be on those service information.
AutosRe: Honda, Toyota And Nissan, Which One Is The Best? by Ivvie: 7:18pm On Mar 24, 2007
You cannot compare any of those cars to a Toyota. Security and Reliability is in the Toyota. The rest are Toyota wannabe's. In all three, Toyota has the cheapest maintenance cost from the list you have given. Nissan's have some costly maintenance's that has to be done (routinely or non-routinely).

AutosRe: Mercedes V-boot With E-class Engine For Sale(port-harcourt) 4 Just N600,000.00 by Ivvie: 12:51am On Mar 23, 2007
Explain, , , , ?!

You CANNOT put a w124 engine with a 103 in a w124 chassis that has a 104 or vice versa.  Those are two different vehicles with two different chassis.  You can interchange some of its body components but the fact still remains that they aren't the same.  Except you know better than the engineers that put the vehicle together.  Benzes are engineered to precision so, you can't get away with parts that aren't supposed to be used.

Secondly, the V Boot comes with a 103 engine and the code name is M103.Bleep is so different from the M104.Bleep engine.  Some of the E Classes (padded) have infrared keys that tells the computer and transmission that an authorized access has been made, thus disengaging its security armour.

And if you were referring to the w210 engine (twin light benz), that is an impossibility. Because you can't seat the transmission of that chassis into a V Boot. Worse, the engine's inferior to the w124 chassis series.

It might be a head gasket problem. Are you using the green coolant?
Car TalkRe: Why Buy A Hummer Jeep? by Ivvie: 12:39am On Mar 23, 2007
That's a polished-up Tahoe.  Chevy Tahoe as Texas refers to it.
Car TalkRe: Mercedes Kompressor by Ivvie: 12:37am On Mar 23, 2007
The Mercedes are dead-unreliable. These Benzes don't have the engineering we've always thought they pack. The Kompressor is more like a blower that gets the exhaust out of the manifold a lot quicker to give power. Power is limited because it takes power to run the kompressor. In English, we call them superchargers. The concept is somehow like a compressor. The mechanical type is called a turbo charger. All you need to do is floor the pedal and wait for the boost. Mercedes in 2006 had the biggest recall in history besides Ford with its sensotronic braking system on its E Class. There is nothing cool about new Mercedes' because they fail. The most unreliable car by Consumer Report was the S Class. And if I'm corrent, the Mercedes family cleared the bottom for 2006 with the S Class being the worse. And people buy that for $180,000

1st rule, Hummer's don't run on gasoline. They run on diesel and are armoured. Everyone's talking about Hummers. The Hummer's driven on the streets are not Hummers but Tahoes. They are built on the Tahoe chassis with a revised body kit or shell as nigerians call it. It is nothing short of a fraud. The H2's are built on the Yukon's chassis. Even worse, as far as Design Engineering is concerned, those vehicles are seen as pick up trucks. There is no such thing as an SUV. It's either a 4 wheel drive or 4 x 4 (and it's not called a Jeep) or it isn't anything. 4 Wheel Drive vehicles will have a lexical and an auxilary gear. Most of what we see on the roads are trucks and some, cars in an oversized cabin. The Outlander itself is a lancer with a different cabin. Those of you living int he United States will hear people calling them trucks. Indeed, they are all built on the chassis of pickup trucks. This was started by Ford in the early '80's with the Bronco II. The Bronco that has claims many lives. That vehicle couldn't do a J-turn at 20 miles without tipping at least a tire. Later, it was ruled out that it was perfectly ok for such a characteristic.

Range Rover's are the best 4 X 4's. You cannot compare any 4 x 4 with the Range Rover. The reliability is the only issue for this vehicle as its air suspension is known to fail without warning. When one fails, the vehicle cannot be driven and has to be fixed. You can double-cross this by installing some bilsteins to it and disabling the sensors. It still rides as factory designed.

You can retard the timing about 3 degrees to accomodate your gasoline grade. That's all, nothing complicated in facts. It will work well.

Its simple:

BMW's give you performance and comfort at the expense of servicability.

You need to be the kind who loves driving so much they don't mind spending extra on the car to maintain it properly.

According to consumerguide: BMW's after 1988 models require premium-grade fuel. Good luck finding that in Nigeria. SUPER will degrade your beemer with time.

Also, if you live in the east, or the North, you will enjoy the beemer (or a benz) better than a japanese car because they are more fuel efficient at higher speeds, and perform better on your wide, open roads.

If you live in Lagos, you need a car that will not kill you in GO-SLOW. Yes. Beemers and benzes don't like go-slopws, and don't like the tight, winding roads with potholes and almost no chanc e to attain their true potential. If you plan to live/work on Lagos, go for a japanese car. Japanese cars are designed for tight spaces, and will serve you better than a beemer over here.

If you are not engineering savvy and into automotives with analytic understanding, don't buy a BMW. You are better off with a Lexus. The Grand Sport Series (GS) signifies the heights of Toyota's engineering. It's rear wheel with 50/50 but poor suspension and handling. That, you can change and have the feel of the BMW. You will definitely have to drop-low the Lexus a few inches for precise handling. Lexus cars are smart cars that work. BMW cars are smart cars that don't work. Software glitches! Europe rules in mechanical engineering, Japan sees to it that electronics are their domain. If you were considering the 3 Series, try the Intelligent Sport 250 (IS250 RWD). I don't mean the IS350, the 250. You cannot match an M3 to this vehicle to the V8 version of this Lexus. It packs a blow but not many would be sold in the United States. Toyota plans to release a V8 version soon.

This is mine, a 1992 MB s-420 good car hopefully whan things go well in a few I'll get a bmw745. Till then, I'll stick with this jalopey!!!!

Why will you get rid of an over-engineered vehicle for a piece of junk. Mercedes Benz '95 and up with exception of the W140 series are over-engineered and built to last 50 years or 1 million miles. Mercedes' obituary was made at the end of '99 as the W140 was farewelled. They are called Daimler Chrysler. The reaction against the creation of the Lexus! If you are into automotive design and engineering, the Mercedes Benzes were compared to no other and they signified the heights of auto. design with precise engineering. I don't understand how people end up with cars like BMW's with respect to the pre '95 Mercs. BMW's don't hold up after a few years. Cheap plastics and oil leakages. Everything falling apart. Don't get me wrong, '96 up are all crap except for the Beast that ran till the end of the decade. The W210 (E CLass with the twin bug lights) for example are known to have rust problems with the front spring perches. The top perches which holds the top of the springs for the front suspension. The perches are spot-welded to the chassis, and coated in a weatherproof mastic to stop them rusting. The reality is that water gets the mastic causing the perches to rust, and eventually to fail and this leads to a collapse of the suspension. Those of you into Mercs will discover that Mercedes never weld their vehicles from the factory. They are always rivetted.
Dating And Meet-up ZoneRe: Eligible Nigerian Bachelors In Rhode Island: Identify Yourselves! by Ivvie: 10:02pm On Mar 22, 2007
The solution to this is starting from your own self.  Examine yourself and hear from honest friends (remember, you cannot see the back of your head).  Your characteristics might be repelling the right people and otherwise for the wrong.  Your standard calls for a man that wants pure femininity.  Femininity is not about looks, physical features and other your achievements but the deep rooted perception of what you are made for.  I won't go into details about that 'cause every woman ought to have been groomed in that trend.  If you possess all these, then forces might be against you.
  //I am not saying you cannot find someone.  There are people everywhere.  There is a price to pay
                     //with the standard that you have established.  Men with such standards will make no compromise
                    //are not easy to impress.

There is a man for every woman and a woman for every man.  Most people marry the wrong partners.
