O, Grand Sport 300 is what they call the Aristo? Wow! The GS's symbolises Toyota's technology at it's highest for every year and model. The '97 generation is what we call the WHALE in the US. It is ugly and flat out under-powered. Both cars handle poorly in spirited-driving. THe Camry and the G Sport are one of a kind, both Toyota's and share a lot of features. The only difference is that the Camry is a lot more conservative. |
It depends on the vehicle. A Camry is widely spread and gives you warnings or preparation (that's if you are having parts failing). Ford, Jaguar and VW's don't give warnings at all. They just break down as they like and worse, Ford engines should not be revved because it's one of the first tests the computer checks for when you bring it for service. You shouldn't redline it and also, you void your warranty. Since you just bought your vehicle, you should carry out the major service and begin clocking from that point. Start with the plugs through to the timing belt. If it's a mechanical tensioner, you need to replace the whole thing (belt plus tensioner) as a new belt will cause the tensioner to fail a few thousand miles afterwards. You only need to change the belt if its hydraulic. If it's a chain, you don't need to worry. If it's a front wheel, check all the axles. If it's a Toyota, you need to flush the engine because it's known to sludge and lock up without warning (even with religious oil changes). I don't know about europe or other countries, but in the U.S, that's what's up with Toyota. If it's a Ford, I can only extend my sympathy. |
This is called the 5SFE. The car is 68671 in miles (divide by 1.64). The plus about this vehicle is that it doesn't sludge in the engine block as today's Toyota's do and they can run with almost no oil in them for a long time. The U.S is different (I think). The Coupe, the higher the price. The all have the same engine and perform the same from 92 to'04. The only difference is different engine managment systems. Toyota hold their values $1800 to $2300 is a deal for a fair or poorly managed Camry. Well, the dealer will buy at that price for trade-ins but not for private sale, it's more than that. Consider the mileage as well as its appearance. You don't see rust and I want to believe that is the original paint that was coated with the vehicle when it was manufactured. |
Auto transmissions start from the second gear and to initiate from first gear, you need to force-throttle. In most cars, acceleration is sluggish due to the second gear start and the fact that the transmission takes roughly about twenty horse power of your overall net horsepower. Manual transmissions don't hog horsepower and you can start from the first gear. High performance cars start from first gear but requires maintenance (ever so often and expensive replacements). I don't know about the new Mercedes, but in the mid 90's, the V8 E Classes starts from the first gear and it's rapid and you torpedo from zero. For those of you that are biased towards manual transmissions, try the manumatic transmission from Volvo's Aisin Warner. It's adaptive and as you weave through traffic, it shifts as a manual transmission would. It's a sequential transmission but the feeling is awesome. I think it's called geartronic. It's only serviced by the dealer and Aisin Warner fluids are just too pricy. |
To the Rhino fellow that calls this a V8, it's interesting how you have a V8 engine with a 2.4L displacement. For those of you that don't know, Jaguars don't hold their values and $10,000 for a base low output FWD Ford engine is excessive. Consider the reliability and dependability of the vehicle too. It also has a manual transmission. One is currently going for $5200 in one of Houston's local area. I believe his price is fair (considering shipping and other clearance cost) plus, this would be the second post I'm seeing the poster advertising his vehicles. U.S type Jaguars and british spec jaguars are not the same. The jaguar on that link is a special edition equipped with a 3.0 high output engine. There is a difference in category. |
@Ralvy Norton Internet security does not protect against anything. That's a marketing program and I believe that expires every 365 days. You need the server protection for your machine as well as a decent firewall. I use HP and I had it trouble free for 3 years running my PLM and MCAD programs hassle free till I bought that joke microsoft calls Zune and I lost all my Flexlm's and none of my executable programs could run. Microsoft is not reliable and Vista is unacceptably worse. With regards to firewall, I can only vouch for one but comes with a price. The other is free and its undeniably remarkable. They don't make money off individuals but companies running server spaces. |

I don't think there is any requirement. Actually, I transferred from University of Louisiana. Most people start off from the community colleges to get a direct transfer to the Universities. The only thing they required from me was to take uToefl (can't remember, but it was You of H's localised toefl) since I graduated from an international school. Some colleges might require some standards. For instance, college of medicine, law and other colleges of special discipline. Overall, you can get into the university world easily. |
Ford vehicles are built for short relationships. Cheap plastics and the vehicle doesn't hold up no matter how you take care of them. Through Ford, a new standard was established "Best in Initial Quality." They just don't last. |
@Ikomi Dis Guy:All that glitters is not gold. |
You can't do much to anything built bad. They neglect human life for corporate profit. Do some history and research the Bronco or Bronco II. Study the area of the pre-released investigation and conclusion. Also consider, lives were lost afterwards. There is a branch of engineering known as Stress Analysis or better, Finite Element Analysis which follows this sequence; • Pre-processing – defining the finite element model and environmental conditions to be applied to it • Analysis solving – solution with respect to finite element model • Post-processing of results using visualization tools This is also called Material Science (if you are dealiing with rocks, metals or other forms of matter). Way back in mid-50's, it was completely done mathematically by Daimler A/G and aerospace engineers used it in its entirety. The more reason why sometimes took Mercedes 20 years to design a vehicle. Through FEA, you are able to calculate the failure rate and criterion of parts and other mechanical components in your design product before it's manufactured in masses. Everything that fails in your car has been calculated. Ford build automobiles with high failure rate per 100. It's neither dependable nor reliable. You are also prone to fires and plugs spitting out of your engine block. They also started the conversion of pick-up trucks to the so-called SUV's and that's why they flip over. Ford is also the mother of all the games the automobile industry is running today. They have gotten away with it for years and others are following. |
@crazyp crazyp:Ms., I am not one to judge neither am I God. I did not make the standard, neither will it change for any generation. I won't condemn anyone but search the bible yourself. If other generations obeyed it, today's will be no exception. No one is holy (as our righteousness is like filthy rags) and none is righteous. One truth is that if you don't bow here on earth, you will bow at the throne of Christ on judgement day. This will apply to everyone that has been created our of the dust and given the breath of life. Heaven and earth will pass away but the Word of God wouldn't. It's the same Word that will acquit or condemn. |
stranger12:Vehicle Dynamics and Stability Control works by principle. There is drag as low as 35MPH (and for some cars, worse). Your theory does not get along. It's way off and cannot be proven kinematically. The air conditioner robs your vehicle of torque because it requires some horsepower to set it in motion. A compressor-like motor is what saps power. The only way to by-pass this rule is to get an electric compressor (as race-tuned vehicle are fitted) but you'll need bigger a bigger battery and a bigger alternator and some other modifications that will eventually lead to electrical problems. Cars today are built aerodynamically with all the windows up. The only exception to this rule (and not limited to) is a convertible. The engineering to this requires a lot more research and developments that's why it costs more than the normal car with more materials and weight. 100KPH should approx. 70MPH. Fuel consumption in a car burns dynamically. In other words, it doesn't burn linearly but dynamically. You get the best mileage at 55MPH (applies to all cylinders) and the worst as your car moves from 80 - 110 MPH. After 110, it doesn't take much for your engine to propel your vehicle. Your car better be properly maintained to this. You better not be driving a Honda for this; the laws of physics will not change. The faster an object goes, the lighter it becomes, thus becoming lighter than the air surrounding it. I am not saying it will airbourne but a great deal of stability would have been compromised. Most cars, expecially the 4 cylinders don't reach it's stated maximum speed dispayed on the speedometer. sojioguns:It doesn't matter if your car is old or new. A/C robs you of throttle response and also diminishes your gas mileage. Also, your alternator would be running twice as much and that also requires fuel to power and do its conversion. There will be a pitiful experience if your engine isn't healthy enough. As we all know, many factors are responsible for that. It's also interesting to note how your A/C keeps you from smell, noise and sound. In the United States, it is illegal to alter your car to the state of which where external sounds are almost inaudible or virtually eliminated. Library-Quiet requires firewalls, dampers as well as deadeners to keep engine and road noise from the inner cabin but allows what sounds (of which is permitted by law) to wave through. There is no restriction to what happens within the cabin. |
Connectix is still the best emulator for PSX. Sony and Connectix went hand in hand after the lawsuit that occurred in '99. For some games, it plays better than the PSX itself. And some, it wouldn't even play. |
@BlackBeauty What WesleyanA said following your question is the ideal answer to what you asked. You are from a different culture. She has broken it down for you. All you have to do is to follow what she's said humbly. You cannot go wrong (irrespective of the tribe). Mother's are particular about the girls their sons choose to bring home. I don't know why. WesleyanA gave you the ideal answer. Don't trade this with anything else on this tread. There is no such thing as being yourself. There are principles and laws that govern life that you must obey to abide in and with. |
@tlops Can you deal with this? Women in skirt are more feminine than women in trousers. They tend to be lady-like and conscious of the environment, subconsciously. This doesn't apply in all cases because women differ in character but for the most part. My reference to the feminine mentioned is that the quality of womanliness (quiet and gentle inner-being). |
@Buyaka Buyaka, the idea of women in trouser is rooted in Marxism. Maxism inter-twined in gnostism. It's a complex issue, so talking will have no effect on such a force. @Jag': I can only extend my sympathy to you (I will not explain). @Osereka && Xjovial: there are plenty of women who refuse to buy into the system. A true Christian (heaven bound) does not wear trousers. @tlops: Skirts do not determine if you'll live a saint or not. The heart of man is a wicked thing. You can't tell what's going on in it. There is nothing wrong with what Buyaka has stated. The poster needs no medical doctor. This is suppose to be an open discussion. Nobody was accucsed nor names called. The truth lurks around the corner, waiting to be embraced. The WORD of the Lord predicted this age and has come to pass in Isaiah We will eat our own bread and wear our own apparel. Only let us be called by thy name to take away this reproach. |
You save gas and have minimal drag. Today's cars are built aerodynamically with all windows up. Anything higher than 30 miles per hour is not a bargain with your windows down. Using your A/C rubs you of torque (but minimal). You'll burn gas with/without if you go floor from 65 - 80 because your engine has to do a leap at this point. You also burn higher when you exceed 60MPH. With all my studys, I have come to the conclusion that no car saves gasoline. They all burn the same way with weight and breathe pattern factored in. cd's play a little role in this too. American cars are just an exception (gas wells). Some people believe a 4 cylinder will on gas. Well, true if all you are doing is stop-and-go. It would cost you a lot more fuel to get your pistons to rev at 4500RPM and having your transmission rotarize it in a 4 cylinder than a 6 cylinder. This is due to the fact that a cycle in a 6 cylinder is completed every 60 degrees as oppose to the 90 degrees done on a 4 cylinder. In a 4 cylinder, your engine just revs, makes noise and takes forever to pick that speed up. Mercedes' with E's on them have a different way of fuel management. The injection on the '63 280SEL is what many cars started to mimic in the late 90's. They were the first and still leaders in injection engines. |
I wish it rains here in the west of Houston. I rains for a couple of minutes and that's it. Other parts aren't so lucky. It floods! |
@Lazy lazy:Yep, the stuff about Webster - When I took English 1, I had issues with my instructor concerning gramatical structure and spellings. I spoke extremely different (so people thought I couldn't speak English). I was given low grades and so, a suggestion arose that I take English for International Students. I bluntly refused it and in class. A lecture period occurred when my instructor ended a sentence with the word "at." More like "where he was at" or something in that trend and I remarked forcefully that you don't end a sentence with a preposition. Then I told the Nigerians what happened and somebody pointed it out from an English encyclopedia about Webster's issue. I made my mind clear to the instructor that the class reflects English and not American English. Also, I'd never seen the use of a comma, then the word "AND" following each other. It's just sad how people graduate from college and not know English. You cannot graduate from Secondary School without knowing WAEC English. |
lazy:@Lazy Some people think moving up means being like the rest. Personally, I don't believe in it and wouldn't condone it either. In the case of the African race and hair texture, that issue came up at my place of work. Judge Mablean got fired for the same reason as well. I don't blame the people enforcing it, but the ones adhering to it. The whole hair-straightening came from slavery and this became popular as a means of trying to get accepted. Some mulattos that could pass for white were simply accepted. One thing I will say in all reality is that the blacks can never be white and whites never black. One would suppress and the other would oppose. I was made to take Speech as a Sophomore because my advisor taught I needed it because I spoke words differently. To date, it has made no difference. Recently, I just found out that Webster couldn't spell, that's why American spellings differ from the standard spellings. |

They love the way Nigerians speak. Texas pretty much identifies Nigerians. So, the way you speak does not limit you in terms of employment. |
@lazy && drkchoclit ; I'm not into the Western way of life. I believe in preserving the old ways (in other words, old fashioned). I am proud to be Nigerian by blood and it's a prerogative that shouldn't be ashamed of. The fellow simply asked - no one knows his reason. I believe he has accomplishments and hopes. Basically, what the lessons woould do is to work on his intonations and the proper stress of words and pronounciation to U.S standards. It doesn't give you regional accents nor dialets. |
@Yicob If you don't mind, shoot me a mail. I still have my kit used in my Mass Communication's class. It makes you speak proper but does not totally eliminate your accent. It'll require a lot of discipline from you but will not give you a dialet. It also won't teach you how to speak English (of which I believe you already know). It'll make you talk and sound with clarity of a news caster. Let me know, so that I can rip all the disc for you. It's more than 60 (if I am not wrong). |

Rlst84sale:There is no FORD that is good. My colleage once owned an F - Series truck and he took care of that vehicle from the very first day. He had all the options you can think about in a car and I found that amusing for a pick-up truck. Towards the end of the year, the motor operated like a worn out motor and never rode smooth. In addition to this, he's done a couple of repairs under warranty that shouldn't be called for. In Texas, a lot of driving is done and you can accrue as much as 30,000 in a year. He was on the freeway and his spark plug spew out of his engine. The engine indeed spat a plug out. Cost to have it on the road was 6,000 inc. labour (and not covered under warranty). Today, there is a class-action lawsuit against Ford. Volvo, had a recall a few months ago concerning gasoline leaking into the oil chambers and causing fires. The signature and the common factor is Ford. Also, Volvo's today are known for bad throttles. FORD is crap and I don't think anyone in their right mind should patronize Ford. They waste lives and don't care about it's owners. They are practically one of the unsafest cars in the world. Go through consumer reports. Ford's section has elaborately been redefined. It has been broken into sections from plugs to fire to whatever is wrong. The Mustang is a joke as far as performance cars are concerned. I have seen a mustang that couldn't do a simple J-turn without wheel slippage. I don't know what it'll cost Ford to negative-camber the rear wheels. The news last year was that they made the biggest loss in history last year. |
sultaan:Sultan, I did not doubt you. It was surprising how they obey lean-marketing strategies. I never knew the PT was a Chrysler product. I had in mind that these vehicles were european. I am surprised about the sebring beng 4 cylinders. It must be the alterative to the Dodge Stratus. I've ridden in a Sebring a few times, it's a six cylinder with an extreme loud engine. I think it's a 2.5 engine size. It has so much power but nothing to show for it. It wouldn't accelerate in response to throttle feel. The blind spots in the coupe too is unremarkable. Those vehicles start to smoke ad leak oil as they approach 100 - 135,000. I don't know about the 3 cylinders. |
sultaan:There is no Chrysler that has a 4 cylinder engine. The lowest model (except I am wrong) in engine size should be the Sebring. It's a 6 cylinder that drives like a hot-rodded 4 clylinder. If you are right about your statement, then it must be interesting to have 2 extra cylinder that takes 5 miles of the gallon. 100 years in automotive engineering and development and 5 miles to two extra cylinder is what you can come off per gallon with respect to the 4 cylinder sister model. They are only seeking profit. Ford is worse, as they make nothing ground breaking. They finally made public their foolishness by announcing that they would be launching the first ever vehicle equipped with full broadband internet service and owners can surf the web, download movies and music and check eMails while being mobile. This is all they can come up with. What a market! |
First of all, Chrysler and Merc's don't share parts. They might share technology (outdated) but not the ground breaking. Second and most important of all, a car poorly built cannot be taken care of. It'll always be a money pit. It will be expensive to put it right. Everything has been calculated in terms of analysis (if you are familiar with finite element analysis). My prof. stated that in today's economics, if the manufacturer designates a 3yr/36,000 mile warranty to a vehicle, that's how long it's built for. Chrysler cars can barely survive U.S roads and terrain. , to be honest, nobody buys those vehicles. They are nothing short of dressed-up Dodges. And as we all know, it's a cheap piece of plastic with lousy performance with everything falling apart. Chrysler is no longer part of Daimler A/G. Chrysler and Merc's don't even feel the same way when you drive them, especially the highway courtesy you receive from a Benz. Those 300C's are one of the ugliest cars built and very bad cd's (coefficient drag) and that summarizes why it's a gas guzzler. Merc's in the 80's had cd's as low as .28. Cars today still can't boast of that. |
@angel The cheapest gas is $3.19 for a gallon and that is terrible. Imagine having to purchase 21 gallons of supreme grade. It costs my friend over $90 to fill her Navigator plus she has to fill up every 3 days. |
@ ZuluNation (m) Toyota owns the hybrid technology. No car beats Toyota in mileage and it's the only car in the United States that beats the gas-guzzling taxes. All Toyota's and today, they happen to be the on top with the highest resale value. Honda's are light (doesn't weigh much) and that is where Honda Motor Company indeed cut cost. |
Chryslers are ba cars, cheap and not properly designed. Poor stress analysis in design. Believe me, you'll have a story to tell except you have mad love for it. |
