PoliticsRe: Soludo, Others Offered Second Chance By Screening Committee by iyaski: 10:37pm On Aug 17, 2013
This reminds me of one of John /Grishams book - the Appeal. How many have read it? There was a chapter titled THE CAMPAIGN.

This is a nice strategy by APGA. Diverting the attention of the opposition. Keeping them in suspense, planting a decoy, while finishing plans underneath. Then finally giving the opposition a run for their money.

Soludo will be sipping tea during the campaign and smiling home to victory.

I personally wish him well and want him to be at the helm of affair in Anambra. He is intelligent.

PHIPEX: It's actually very easy to complain of inefficiency but as far as I know there are over 50 brands of computer in the market and am sure it's not all of them you can download their drivers online. Have you ever been to their office to complain or made a call for enquiries and what was their response? Am asking because I've been to their Gbagada office once and what you just wrote is different from the experiance I had.

I know Brian integrated systems to a large extent.

Their website is brianintegratedsystems.com

They have almost all the drivers of all their PC's on their website.

It is not that all these brands Zinox, Brian and co. Can't do high earn computers, it is just the market demand. This is the same reason why Apple computers aren't as popular as HP in the Nigerian market.

The Nigerian Market demands low earn laptops don't get me wrong there is also a demand for high earn but the key is price . The Federal Govt is trying to help local Brands by banning the use of foreign brands in federal government establishments.

Brian even has a twitter handle - BrianComputers1.

Always put in mind that investor must make profit to grow.

I hope I have made some few points.

PoliticsRe: Lawyer Writes Sanusi Lamido To Declare His Salary Or Face Legal Action by iyaski: 2:51pm On Jan 03, 2013
hercules07: The lawyer should direct his query to the appropriate department within the CBN, the CBN is under an obligation to furnish the details and I am sure there is an appropriate unit responsible for that, he needs to take a cue from economists who trade tackles with the CBN and not personalities.
My fellow Nigerian, why do we always put bottle necks every where when we can actually create a clear part to transparency.
I remember vividly how republicans in the US alledge that Brack Obama wasn't born in the US and he should provide evidence.

Obama published his birth certificate and the whole world saw it. But in Nigeria, we want to complicate issues.

Is the Lawyer asking for too much? Please let's us be constructive. Nigeria is bigger than Sanusi and I am also intrested in how much my country pays sanusi.

Seun: Adams Oshiomhole, a man of the people. he performs but he also cares about the masses, unlike Fashola.
Two people from the south cant hold the presidency in Nigeria. The will only get 1% of the northern votes and the south south will preferably vote for GEJ if he remains the presidential hopeful for the PDP in 2015.

Dating And Meet-up ZoneLadies, Who Will You Marry Oluwaseun Osewa Or Aliko Dangote? by iyaski(op): 1:21pm On Nov 22, 2012
I just used the illustration of Osewa and Dangote to try and paint a picture of what am trying to talk about. The topic came up in a board meeting we had in my office just to paint a picture that money attracts. Very few young Ladies will reject to be tenth wife of Dangote even if Seun has agreed to marry her, as soon Dangote shows interest in her, Oboi Seun is on his own oh. It is just unfortunate for young men who have potentials losing their girlfriends to "grand daddy big boys".
However in the meeting, others said that not all Ladies will go for Dangote. That some do not like that kind of life. You can imagine the way those that talked like that were being attacked.
Well i just want to ask the house, Ladies especially Why will you go for Osewa or Dangote?

NB: Shade Okoya is another example of what am talking about.

Christianity EtcRe: Confessing Your Sins To A Priest. by iyaski: 3:19pm On Oct 28, 2012
chukwudi44: James 5:14-16

King James Version (KJV)

14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:

15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.

16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

@op

I am sure this passages are explicit enough. The protestants should first remove the log from their eyes before trying to remove the supposed pegs in the RCC.

Adeboye should first stop the practice of compulsory tithing and first fruits obsrved in his church which are contrary to the new order.
Who told you tithing is compulsory, it is a personal thing if you pay it or not no pastor in RCCG will force you to pay it.
The one of first fruits is even laughable, I haven't being preached in my parish where I attend.

Love is NOT all that matters. Love is NOT a guarantee for a sucessful marriage. Most of the people sheding tears in their relationships once loved their partner dearly. So please OP don't worry, just enjoy your single life.
PoliticsRe: Jonathan Releases 155-page Book On His Achievements by iyaski: 5:47pm On Sep 17, 2012
dedeike: I don't know the document you read but I will chronicle my own assessment for you.

In Finance,
For the first time, our recurrent expenditure profile was cut down by 12% thereby increasing funds available for capital projects. Tight fiscal policies and due verification before release of funds for budget implementation. The creation and inauguration of the Soverign Wealth Fund for a three phased development.
Bio metric evaluation of MDA'S  which has exposed massive corruption in police pensions and subsequent prosecution of the suspects by EFCC.  The  restoration of transperancy and due verification for subsidy claims to oil marketers by NOI.  Introduction of the new integrated online payment system which helps the minister monitor transfer of public funds across MDA's.

Our foreign reserves have risen again to a tremendous high of 41 billion dollars.

And with all this achievements am still looking for a job like American Visa.... embarassed embarassed embarassed embarassed embarassed embarassed

In Energy, a lot of reforms. The president is keen on transparency and thus has set up probes into the sector viz KPMG AUDIT and AIG IMOUKHEDE. The president sought to close the window of corruption by removing subsidy but the cabal misled Labour into a protest. That notwithstanding, the reforms are still ongoing and the full deregulation of the downstream sector being vigorously pursued.

In one year, the  FG had concluded the PIB which remains a landmark legislation that will revolutionarize the petroleum  industry and increase the stake of oil host communities in the management of their oil.
Refineries are undergoing repairs and an American company, VULCAN is to build six more new refineries.

For the first time in this country, a govt has engaged the oil cabal in an anti graft war. We have seen EFCC take subsidy suspects to court. No one is spared. Even the sons of PDP leaders are undergoing prosecution in court for subsidy loot

In roads, Zaria-Funtua-Gusau roads, Oshodi-Apapa with expansion and drainage works,  dedicated bridge frm liverpool roundabout to Tin can ports, trailer park, re award for reconstruction of ENUGU-Onitsha, completion of OWERRI -Onitsha,    9th mile, ongoing reconstruction of Benin-Ore-Sagamu highway measuring over 26km, Kano-Maidugri Dualisation. Keffi -Akwanga-Lafia,  Auchi-Okene being handled by Setraco. Loko-Eweta-Karishi bridge, Kolo-Nembe -Brass  to mention but a few.

Just last week, govt announced the re award of abandoned Abuja-Lokoja highway and the East-West road under SURE P.

In Transport, massive reforms at the ports. Sanitisation and reduction of operating agencies to 7. Introduction of 24 hrs ports operation. Ongoing Construction of light gauge train railways. rehabilitation of Minna-Kaduna line. Award for reconstruction of Lagos-Kano railine to Chinese giants CCCEC. Abuja intercity railway's too.

In  Aviation, massive reconstruction of major airports in the land, Enugu airport is undergoing total rehabilitation. The domestic wing of Abuja airport is also being reconstructed with expansion of roads and car parks. Same fr the international wing and the kano airports. 11 terminals are also being remodelled and rehabilitated.

Just this week, the govt secured a loan facility for the construction of new airport terminals for four major cities viz, Abuja, Kano, Enugu, Port harcourt.

In Education, establishment of 9 new federal universities in less than 1 year. Constructed 2 new campuses of the Nigerian law schools in Yenagoa and Yola respectively. Launched the Almajiri schools for education of itenerant Islamic pupils in the north wFhich Buhari and other northern leaders abandoned. Increased funding to almost 400 billion to education thereby setting an all time highest record. Reinvigorated the inspectorate oversight of schools leading to the revocation of some licenses from universities. Executed the landmark upgrade of university lecturers retirement age from 65 to 70.

In agriculture, for the first time in our history, we have a clearly defined agricultural policy which is targeted towards maximum utilisation of cassava for growth thru the launch of the cassava bread campaign. The policy is intended to reduce our reliance on imported wheat so as to encourage local production of cassava and it's conversion to flour for bakery. The FG has in less than one year eliminated the middlemen cartel that fed fat on fertiliser distribution at the expense of local farmers. Now through deregulation reforms, fertiliser is now accessible in the open market. he has also embarked on massive construction of silos and has increased import duties on the importation of rice in order to encourage local farmers. The efforts of the minister has been so appreciable that the world bank assisted with over 50 billion Naira for fertiliser redistribution scheme/ silos. The CBN has also set up a 500 billion loan scheme which is to assist farmers.

In power, the NIPP has been revived with the subsequent refurbishment of Afam, Alaoji, Calabar, GEREGU, Omotosho, Ihvbour, Egbema, power plants. This has led to the all time generation record of 4,477megawatts.

To address the problem of distribution,  the 18 successor companies have been slated for privatization.  The media is already awash with news of the proposed privatization. The reforms include the review of tariffs in order to ensure a cost reflective tariff that will encourage private sector participation in the building of gas plants. Already, this has started yielding dividends as SPDC has commenced processes towards building a gas plant in IMO state.

The best Petroluem minister ever, Diezani Allison Madueke, has responded to the  emergency need for gas supply to the power stations by completing several gas projects and pipelines to evacuate gas to the NIPP's.

She has successfully  completed the 27kmX24inch permanent gas supply pipeline from Itoki to Olorunshogo via Ewekoro, all in Ogun State; the 56kmX24inch Escravos-Warri gas pipeline - doubling the pipeline capacity and enhancing gas evacuation from Escravos, as well as the 130kmX36inch Oben to Geregu pipeline.

The grand effect is the significant improvement of power nationwide.

BusinessAdebayo Ogunlesi – The Man Who Bought Britain’s Gatwick Airport by iyaski(op): 10:31am On Aug 29, 2012
Adebayo Ogunlesi, a Nigerian-born investment banker made international headlines when he led the acquisition of London’s Gatwick Airport from the British Airports Authority in a recorded £1.51 billion (US$ 2.39 billion) deal.

Adebayo Ogunlesi, 58 is the chairman and managing partner of Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP), a New York-based independent private equity fund focused primarily on infrastructural investments, with over US$5.6 billion under management. The purchase of Gatwick Airport may have grabbed all the headlines, but GIP has some other noteworthy assets in its portfolio including a 75 percent stake in London City Airport, and Biffa Limited, a UK based waste management company.

Gatwick Airport suffered deep losses over the years, and all the turnaround efforts made by its former managers, the British Airport Authority (BAA), failed to halt the downward spiral. In the first nine months of 2009, the airport reportedly recorded a pre-tax loss of over £780 million (US$ 1.23 billion), prompting the British government to actively shop for buyers.

But Ogunlesi believed strongly in the future of the airport so much that he invested some of his own personal funds into the acquisition. He promised to make Gatwick a truly first class international airline and substantially improve the customer experience. Judging from his antecedents, he is likely to deliver on those promises.
