US was minding its business by supplying weapons to all sides, no?Sorry if I am all over the place, but you talked about being Afro-pean, which I have no idea what the hell it means. Thousands of people that looked like you were facing the scourge of Ebola just recently, Russia was no where in sight. It never shows up for anything outside of its boarders especially when it comes to rendering assistance. Any wonder why they have very little clout elsewhere besides when it comes to talking about nuclear weapons? Considering how Russia treats the handful of black people that lives there today, I can only shudder to think about what they will do if they had close to 40 million black people living in their country. One will think that should matter to an Afro-pean, but carry on, I don't want to interrupt you from drooling over Putin as Russia can do no wrong. |
Well, I'm not pro-Russia at all. I'm just an Afro-pean who happens to be a student of history, thrives in objectivity, and an admirer of Strong leaders (say what you what about Putin, he is a strong leader unlike all the other weak leaders running around now).No one has forgotten what the Russians did to the Nazis. Heck the Germans invaded them, what else did you expect them to do but fight to liberate themselves? The US on the other hand was minding its business on the other side of the world until the Japanese struck in Pearl Harbor (Hawaii), which woke them up to the dangers the Nazis posed. Things are far more complicated than you make them to be. The US just didn't wake up to begin to divide the Europeans from one another like you are claiming. Have you forgotten the role of communism in all this? Did the US force Russia to begin to practice and export communism? Which by the way ended up being another failed Soviet experiment. As close as Poland was to Russia, they fought many wars over the years, was that the fault of the US too? At the end of the day, both US and Russia were competing for political and market ideologies, influence, and power. Russia got beaten hands down by the US. Its just as simple as that. Again, I am not saying the US is perfect, but there has to be some aspects of Russia's way of life that made them less attractive to other nations , thus making it easier for them to be beaten hands down since the end of world war 2. Show me one prosperous client state that owes its support to Russia today. I frankly don't know what Afro-pean means. Does it mean hatred for everything America but support for everything Russia? Russia is perhaps far more racist to black people than any other group of Europeans, so why should I care about them? Where was Russia during the recent Ebola outbreak that was ravaging West Africa? Guess who stepped in with their doctors and scientist? I know it wasn't Russia. You may not give a f?ck about the Yanks, but the rest of the world does. Ever heard about the dollar, the one people have been predicting its demise for decades now? Ever heard of the Feds? Any nation or leader that doesn't pay attention to what the Yanks are up to might find themselves imperiled one day. To me this is one of my biggest regret about Nigerian leadership. We never pay attention until its too late. |
SirShymexxAll hail SirShymexx, the number 1 fan boy for Putin and everything Russia. I often wonder why you haven't moved yet to Russia, I heard life there is so great that all the Europeans are dying to form alliance with Russia - even the Germans. ![]() First of all, I weep for my people. The article is junk, but that hasn't stop people from screaming Armageddon and finding biblical references of what is about to happen. If you don't like CNN, check BBC, Al Jazeera, RT, or some other major news outlet before quoting bible verses about everything you hear. The military industrial complex in the US alive but even they know that nuclear war is out of the question at least not against Russia, and thank God Obama is sane. Russia is a one man show, but even Putin is not that crazy to start a nuclear war with the US because that will be the end of Russia as well. SirShymexx, you are a smart man and I know you love Russia weaponry (including those that have no track record of success in any real war besides what the Russians told you they are capable of), but I wonder if you really understand geo-politics that well. Did you honestly expect the US to go to war over Crimea or any other ex-soviet territory? What the hell is in Crimea or Ukraine for them to sacrifice American lives for? By the way, if Russia's weaponry is so good why is India moving away from them ? http://www.wsj.com/articles/india-chooses-sikorsky-for-1-billion-military-helicopter-deal-1417867938 and http://news.usni.org/2014/08/13/u-s-edges-russia-become-indias-largest-military-equipment-vendor The US is far from being perfect, but the fact is Russia is no match for the US. Wishful thinking is not reality. The best Russia can do is use their nuclear arsenal as a deterrence. Neither nation will go to war with each other due to MAD (Mutually Assured Destruction). If it was to happen though, I will give the US a slight advantage due to their overall technological edge, allies, and strategic global positioning, but I may not even be around to find out who won. Now that we can all agree that neither country will to go war with each other due to MAD, there is no question that the US is ways ahead of Russia in all almost every other areas of life that matters to nations of the world today - power projection, economy, influence, allies, cultural appeal, etc. Putin is just jealous. No matter how you spin it, Russia's economy is in bad shape today due to the sanctions and price of oil, which I am sure Putin wasn't thinking much about. Of course he still has to look tough and will try to buy off some weak nations like Greece (which will not happen any way). You may hate the US all you want, but it still doesn't change the fact. @Missy89, thank you for shining the light and not allowing SirShymexx to get off the hook with his Putin fascination. |
If it is true Putin is a Christian and Obama is clearly not. Please go to take your medications. |
And yes, the united states of america is exceptional because when blacks are starred at in russia like aliens and thrown banana's in italy, the united states has a black man as president. Is that is not exceptionalism? You pretty much said it all. A lot of our people are fools and just cant think. Please spend 6 months in Russia and then spend 6 months in US and come ttell me how you much admiration your love for Putin and his people are. @Shymexx you keep saying that Russia is ahead of the US militarily except for maybe Navy and Air Force. Please think, if someone is has a better Navy and Air Force than you, what else is left? Also, in which world will Russia's Army be better than a battle hardened US Army? That aside, you keep saying Putin saw an opportunity to let Obama save face and he seized it. Why on earth will your tough guy Putin let Obama save face when he has attempted to humiliate the US and Obama at every chance? Who has blocked the UN from taken actions against Syria in the past two years? So Putin just woke up a few days ago and decided to be a nice to Obama? You are kidding. The bottom line is US will strike Syria if Putin and Assad doesn't deliver and if they believe its in the US national security interest. There is NOTHING Russia can or will do. |
This is true trash. No mention was made about the 1300 gassed individuals. Assad and Russia are the saints. |
1) The biggest chunk of America's debt is owned by, guess who? The US federal government! The US Federal Reserve, U.S. government's military retirement fund, U.S. government's civilian employee retirement fund and the social security trust fund are the biggest holder's of America's debts! Overall, US entities, owns up to 66% of overall US debts! My brother, thank you for educating these folks. Its one thing to admire Russia, but don't sit there and pretend that Russia is king of the hill. Russia can hurt the US militarily, but the US has several ways to hurt Russia. As for China? Those guys knows better, their time may come someday but they are not any where close by. Obama can simply pay the Chinese off one day by ordering the treasury to print a $1 trillion coin. What are they going to do after all the US simply promised to pay them back? |
The Americans may own a number of cool delivery systems (B-2s,B-1 Lancers, B-52s stratofortress, etc), but so do the Russians. Is it boomers (nuc subs armed with ICBMs), bombers (Beavers,Backfires, etc)? Check. Keep in mind that the russians dont just have more nucs, but way more mobile delivery land delivery systems than the Americans. Oh, and dont forget those cute portable nuclear suitcases carried by Russian Spetznaz groups like Vympel. The Bear sure as hell doesnt play niceOK - if you say so. Mind you I never said that US has better or more nuclear arsenal than Russia because why you may be salivating over how great the Russians offensive capabilities are, no one will really know until they are tried out between both countries. If that was to happen, its MAD unless one country vaporizes the other before they can launch a counterattack. As I said before, one main difference between the US and Russia,is that the Russians do a lot of too much making. All I can tell you is that America is about to use Russian made toys for target practice in Syria soon. And there is nothing Russia can do about it. Just watch. Did someone say California was bankrupt? Common guys, google is your friend. |
America's debt is spiraling out of control. It's economy is in tatters, it's cities are getting bankrupt and I am afraid it is digging itself into a whole in which there is no escape. You are behind, you need to pay attention. So one city (Detroit) goes bankrupt and that equates to the cities going bankrupt? If you want to discuss economy, the Russian economy is nothing compared to the US. China is having its explosive growth, but no economy can continue to grow the way China has been growing for decades. The domestic debt in China is about to pop, and when it does, it won't be pretty. Like I said earlier, Russia is like a grumpy old man - they will complain and complain, but in the end can't do much to affect any serious outcome. They like to talk tough and unless they are prepared for an all out war, they won't move a muscle. I hope war can be avoided but something tells me the US is about to use Syria to poke Russia in the eyes just as Russia has been poking US lately with their non-cooperating attitudes on everything since Putin's return. Basically, they will bomb the crap out of a Russia's ally and there is nothing they the Russians will be able to do. |
There is no missile defence system currently on earth that can save america from russia's ICBMs.No, you got in all wrong. Russia probably have more nuclear warheads than the US, but its not about the number of nuclear warheads that matters. What maters is how fast you can deliver them and what type of defense shield you have which might enable you to bring down an incoming missiles. But then the only true way to test whose has the best defense is for there to be an all out war which is not going to happen. Trust me, US can wipe out Russia if they get to pull the launch switch first. What makes you think Russia ICBM can reach US and US can't reach Russia? How many ways do you think the US have to possibly deliver nuclear weapons to Russia? What troubles me is that some people are just anti-US no matter what. Lybia, see no evil, its all due to outside forces. Egypt the same thing. Syria the same thing. No body seems to care about the ordinary people whose lives are been wiped out simply because one individual feels they owned the country and will prefer their country go down rather than step down. Its all the fault of outside forces. Anyway, should the US and it allies decide to move into Syria, there is nothing Russia can do. They will once again be barking like mad dogs while not really offering any solution to a complex issue - in fact they indirectly encourage it by backing the dictator. At least with Egypt, when it was time to go, the US told Mubarak that it can no longer support him and that was that. Some of you were scared of the damage North Korea will do to the US few months ago? What happened? I will give you a hint, the US flew in a couple of B-2 stealth bombers into their air space without their knowledge. Those bombers could have easily be carrying nuclear warheads, but they did not this time around, because they wanted to send a message to the fat boy. After that he regained his senses. |
I guess that when America dropped nuclear bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki this was the beggining of "peace on earth"So what was Japan doing before that, playing with flowers? Have you heard of Pearl Harbor? Do you think Japan wouldn't have done the same to the US if they had the weapon first? |
Definately. But ever ask yourself why america still counts its steps when talking to/about russia? American intelligence is sharp and indepth when it comes to it's old, traditional rival. They know what you and i don't know. Israelis know the same. Thats why both israel and usa are wary on issues involving the russians. Yea. Usa have more experienced marines, more military swag and an extremely formiddable airforce and navy. But still, with all this they fear the russians! Tell me a time when america threatened russia like they do iran? or libya? Or syria now? Or as they did iraq? They CANNOT bully russia. You are right that America is wary of Russia, why wouldn't they given their nuclear arsenal that can turn US into a waste land? But that doesn't mean the Russians are not wary of America too because deep down they know if there is any misunderstanding, the Pentagon has the capability to wipe Russia off the earth. If there is a conflict between the two, it will boil down to who has the better defense system. The problem is no one will know until the the other country, or both countries destroys each other. That said, unless Russia is trying to lunch a nuclear attack against the US which will definitely assure that they too will be destroyed as well, all they can do is bark. Whether you like US or not, at least they make effort to intervene during humanitarian crisis. Yes, they have their interests (who doesn't) but their actions have saved countless lives. With Russia, all you here is no, no, no. Why do you think Russia is saying no to an attack against Syria? Its mainly because Syria is the only country where Russia has a naval base outside of Russia. They have no solutions to anything. They have little or no influence around the world except when its time to say no. Some people are complaining about Egypt and Libya. Do you guys stop to think what may happen when the dictators of those countries passes on? Do you think everything will be smooth and there will be no bloodshed? |
Enough activity dey lekki/chevron/banana island/ikoyi/VI for home based peeps that know what's up.The above statement made earlier provides some clues to the problem with Nigeria today. The entire Nigeria has now been reduced to lekki/chevron/banana island/ikoyi/VI and if you don't "hold pepper" you are doomed. With that type of shallow mindset, how can one expect the country to improve? I dont know which embassy this guy and his "peppered" friends visits, but you will need to make a personal appearance at the US embassy if you want to be issued a visa. Its called "RULES" and it should apply to all. Exceptions can be made to the rule, but not because money is changing hands. This type overbloated sense of importance is another problem killing Nigeria. Perhaps, the author of the thread should have toned it down a bit, but that doesn't make the issues raised any less important. That said, I do agree with the core message that Nigeria is a sh-it-hole of a country. If in doubt read the assessment made by a British expat in another thread. Of course, in spite of his take on Nigeria, he won't not mind going back there. What he left unsaid in his assessment was the fact that he was probably being compensated like crazy for having to put up with Nigeria and its madness. |
@ Cap28, Are you saying the President of the United States do not have any real power? Or let me guess, every other president had real power until it came to Obama? Man, what are you smoking? He has no real power and yet some people inside and outside of the US are terrified of him? The US Attorney General has no real power? Where do you guys come from? We are not talking about the Attorney General of Nigeria here. If both the US President and the US Attorney General do not hold real power, please tell us who is in charge? Yes, I am aware of the hatchet job that was done on Hagel, but at the end of the day who ended up being the the Defense Secretary, is it not the same Hagel? Oh, and the Black job rate, Obama is the President of the United States, not the President of Black United States. Finally, keep praying for what you wish to happen to the US. Meanwhile sit back and enjoy the ride for the US is not going anywhere soon. As for the Petro-dollar thing, until China and its partners comes up with an alternative, the US Dollar is still de-facto currently. While you are it and pointing finger at the US, please read up on the history of Russia and China, they are not without sins. If Russia or China had the same power that US had, they will do worse damage to the world. All you need to do is research how all 3 countries handle hostage negotiations. The US will take its time and try to minimize loss of life, the other 2 will "kill and go". |
@Cap28I see - So Putin, Jonathan, the little fat boy, and all the other leaders of the respective countries are real men that are not fronting for any banking and multi-national cartels or any other interests, just the US Presidents? Pray, tell us who the real power brokers are, otherwise stop talking about things you have no knowledge about? In any country most especially the most powerful and the biggest economy, there will be competing interests. Its the job of the US President to balance those interests and to do whats in the best interest of the country. That's why you have elections, and corporations or their owners are free to pour in money to support their candidates who they think will promote policies that will benefit their bottom line. That's just human nature. There were billionaires that were for Obama, and there were other billionaires that were against him, either due to ideological or business reasons. |
@Cap28, The fact of the matter is AIPAC is one of many lobby groups that you have to make nice with if you plan to succeed in US politics. There is no debating the fact that they are very powerful but I am certain their power is often exaggerated. That said, I am not sure you have any proof that they bankrolled Obama. As a matter of fact, they have been given Obama a lot of grief because he has not been jumping when Israel wanted him to. Its no secret that some people have been calling for an attack against Iran for years now, but Obama hasn't bulged. I wonder why that is the case if he is such a puppet, and don't have any convictions of his own as some here says. I must also point out that AIPAC is not the only Jewish lobby group, there are others who are generally more progressive and less hawkish on foreign policy. The NRA is another powerful lobby group. But again, this topic really has nothing with Israel. It has a lot to do with a little fat and Isolated leader who is hell bent on making provocative statements each time he gets. He had a chance when he was first selected as leader to turn a new page, but what did he do? He started more and more missile tests. I am very much aware of US civil rights history and I did indicate earlier its by no means a perfect country, but in that same US where barely 50 years ago a black person pretty much have no rights, today there is a black President, there is a black Attorney General, etc. How can such a place not be a big deal and be admired? The US did not bring Russia down they merely out spent them during the arms race which RussiaSo what brought them down? If you are competing militarily with an opponent who not only can outspend you, but who have more influence, and who also have the advantages of a very advanced market economy and they know this, how can they not be responsible for your downfall? Or maybe you blame yourself from being too stupid? |
HE ACTUALLY HAS MADE MORE SENSE THAN YOU HAVE MADE ALL DAYI am sure he has, type in more caps. Clueless people! |
America Today is Hypocrisy. Of course they have great ideals, constitution and so on.... America was doomed the day she began ( I think George Washington - First US president and Revolutionary founding father - warned against foreign wars) interferring in people's affairs that does not threaten their core interests and with the creation of the Federal Reserve system (Central Banks are more dangerous than standing armies - Thomas Jefferson) that is hold the world at ransom today with its ballooning debt. Dig deep buddy, there are men in the USA today who pull the string behind the scene. The fact that they voted for Obama overwhelming does not mean that he controls the US foreign policy. He is there to do the Presentation with his cunny calm look and fake smiles and perhaps advance some domestic agenda. It is called BRAND PACKAGING. You think Obama has conviction? Ask him 10 questions and he can't even answer just one with a YES or NO when warranted. A controlled clown is who does that.It will be a waste of time to continue to argue with your kind - you have everything twisted. Carry on, you have it all figured out. |
Google was invented by Russian immigrants.I am not arguing with you about who invented Google, I said it was another US invention. One more thing, Larry Page is definitely an American, not a Russian immigrant. Finally, Stanford University is based in California not Moscow. Need more info? |
The internet was invented by a British computer scientist named sir Timothy John Berners-Lee (aka TimBL) in November 1989.No sir, you get your facts straight. I said Internet not wide world web. Of course, your world wide web is nothing without the Internet. I ask you again, google for ARPANet. Oh yeah, ask yourself what is it about these Russians, and others that make them want to come to the US? How come they are not staying behind in their country of origin to invent things like Google? |
I am not just talking about US and its ideals for the sake of talking - its real. Please read this: http://www.cnn.com/2012/12/29/world/africa/us-nigerian-obama-law There is no way anyone can tell me that this guy would have been treated better in life in Nigeria, China, or Russia. |
Shymmex has legitimate points( He admires strong people with deep sense of self and conviction; Russians are like that). To me he understands the average Russian psyche.... I spent sometime in Russia and an average Russian detest American Arrogance and would sacrifice their lives if Russian interest is threatened. America ought to trade carefully with caution. Russia has a number of Jews and many American Jews immigrated from Russia including the Google Guys ( Sergei and Larry ) and also Abrahamovich of Chelsea amongst many of them prominent today.... Since Israelis ( with high number of Russian Jews who migrated their) view Obama as naive and lack convictions, the Jews might decide to back Russia in return for long term alliance (which is what they cherish most)...They don't give a damn as long as it favors them in the end.You are certainly one of those that my comments were directed to. Of course, why wouldn't some Russians hate the US? Who brought down the USSR and effectively tamed Russia to what it is today? Oh yeah, the Jews love Russia so much that they are all rushing to migrate back there. Your point about the Jews, Israelis, and Obama is completely juvenile in view of the fact that Obama just returned from a very successful state visit there two weeks ago. Fact is Israel has no better ally than the US and Obama today, not Russia and Putin. Lastly, this block of voted overwhelmingly for Obama in the last two elections. And what has Abrahamovich of Chelsea got to do with any of this? The fact that you pivoted from a discussion about the ongoing cat and mouse game between US and North Korea, to talking about Jews and Obama shows you really have no clue whats going on. Here is my news flash to you: The US is not a perfect country, but by far and large it remains the best place on earth where people of many races and creed coexist peacefully under one country. There is more to the US than its military might - there are human ideals which it strives for in-spite of its numerous and sometimes conflicting stand on issues. |
The U.S did not invent the internet, please get your facts right.Oh yeah? please correct me. You think the Internet started with Nairaland? Ever heard of ARPANet? Please use Google, yes that Google that is another contribution from the US. |
ShymexxYou are taking your fascination with all things Putin and Russia too far. Like it or not, Russia is still no match for the US in any which way - the closest is militarily. Of course, if it comes to war (God forbid), its MAD (Mutually Assured Destruction), but if I was a betting man, I will bet on the US any day - you cant spend $700 billion a year on military (over 40% of the world's total military budget) and not have anything to show for it. Its going to be a very long wait for those of you waiting for the US to fall. Yes, China is the next fascination for some of you, but here are some questions: is it prepared to do the heavy lifting that comes with becoming the leader of the world and staying there? Is it prepared yet to challenge the US for that top spot and what price will it pay for doing so? Have you imagined what a world that is ran by the Chinese will look like since the US is so evil? How anyone can view the utterances coming from that little fat boy as befitting of a leader and then conclude that the US is at fault here boggles the mind. For some of you guys, US can never do anything right, even though you are here using a US Department of Defense sponsored invention called the Internet to run your mouth. |
Dont blame me ooo, but here is a new diary on Nairaland as we speak: https://www.nairaland.com/1066657/climate-change-lagos-may-vanish What should I make of it, should I feel encouraged or be bitter? Can anyone here honestly say our leaders will understand what's being said here? |
if you say so.What sense does that make? Do you have any other fact to point out that the bulk of the money was generated by "non-average" Nigerians? What are you talking about? See, this is one of the reasons we are bitter - the education system in Nigeria... |
Instead of responding to some of the posts above, I will simply ask. What have you contributed to Nigeria. And I am not talking about sending money home. The first misconception is that all of us at home live by what we receive from people abroad. But in truth, many of us spend our own money and even take care of folks when we go to Europe. We do this from good legit cash we make here. Clean cool cash. Anytime we visit UK, we take care of folks who are too proud to come back home. Many of us back home take good care of our siblings and parents from our earnings and we are doing fine.Don't mean to attack the messenger, but I will like to know what it is you have contributed to Nigeria, or is it just living there (assuming thats where you reside)? Have you bothered to think that maybe the reason Asians are returning and sharing knowledge could be due to encouraging governmental policies that helps foster a sense of better security for all? |
These fools don come again. Please read the following and let me know who hates who and who is helping who: Nigerians abroad remitted N1.7tr in 2011 http://www.vanguardngr.com/2011/12/nigerians-abroad-remitted-n1-7tr-in-2011/ So essentially, Nigerians abroad are so bitter that they remitted about 35% of Nigeria's 2012 entire budget. Who do you think those remittances are helping? Do you think you and your buddies will be making those millions if the N1.7 trillion is not being sent to help out other Nigerians? Do you think you will be any safer to enjoy your millions? I have said it many times in the past and will say it again. Nigeria is a shit-hole of a country and that is not because I am bitter, rather its because of what I see. And yes, I have visited Nigeria almost every year since 2006. I don't have millions (USD), but I like my life just the same. If you ask me, for the amount of money that is remitted to Nigeria, those in the diaspora have every reason to speak out against what it is they don't like about Nigeria. |
Simpletons like you are just too dumb... Hey, don't quote my post out of context if you have nothing intelligent to post, low IQ having hillbilly...Like I said, you have no clue of what you are talking about, here are just a few hints... - He rescued the US from the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression (over 70 years ago) - Financial regulation reform - Healthcare reform (the country has been trying to do this for over 70 years) - Took care of the Osama problem - Rescued America's automobile industry - Serious investments in Green Energy Ask yourself, if he is such a puppet, how come most of the billionaires are supporting the other guy? How come Wall Street donations in this election cycle has gone most to the other guy? On Iran, the fact that he hasn't gone on an expedition is telling. Unlike you I never bought or read any of his books and certainly didn't see as a messiah, but I have donated, voted, and and will do so again for him. You have no knowledge about the dynamics of this country. Ever heard of Jackie Robinson? Ever heard of all the many people who were the "first" to break the racial barriers in the US? If you have, you will know that those who wants the status quo to remain do not give their power easily. First and foremost, Obama is the leader of the US and his primary interest is looking after the US. That said, I will prefer an Obama African foreign policy to the other guy's any day. So many people in Nigeria (don't know where you reside) are so blind that they do not see that to a large extent the fate of black America is intertwined with theirs. |
shymexx: Decent speech, but nothing too spectacular to be gassed about... She told her story, and almost all black kids raised in the western world can relate to it - but at the end of the day, it isn't about teleprompted speeches anymore, it's about actions... Obama gave hope in 2008(not American but I couldn't believe I shed a tear when I saw Roland Martin on CNN crying after he won)- and he was one of the reasons why I became interested in politics - I became a fan CNN, FOX etc.. though I wasn't American, nor do I live there...Michelle and her husband got people's sympathy and everyone thought they were the real deal - the CHANGE and RESET BUTTON slogans won everyone's heart around the world... America's first black president was an inspirational story for blacks from the ghettos of New York to council flats in London, and the slums of Lagos - we all thought the saviour had finally arrived - but 4 years after, he's just another neo-con in sheep's clothing, who works for the banksters, plutocrats, wall street, and the powers that be... I bought 'Dreams of my Father' and 'Audacity of Hope' just to study this 'saviour' God had sent to humanity - but he turned out to be another war monger in a subtle way.Obviously, you really have no clue what you are talking about, though you think you do. You managed to point out how Obama failed without mentioning the fact that the opposition plotted from day one to derail him. Never in the history of America has the opposition said NO to any bill or proposal advanced by the White House. And yes, Obama is evil for taking out Gaddafi and of course he is responsible for Boko Haram's rise in Nigeria. I also heard he is responsible for the state of Lagos-Benin road. Oh, he is such a neo-con that the real neo-cons wants him out so bad. He is such a neo-con that war mongers have been pushing for him to bomb Iran and he is still pushing for sanctions and diplomacy. Really, you have no idea what you are talking about so stop pretending. |
Contrary to insinuations, speculations and sad rumours initiated by some sections of the society, I maintain that the sudden collapse of the health system of the late Head of State started previous day (Sunday, 7th June, 1998) right from the Abuja International Airport immediately after one of the white security operatives or personnel who accompanied President Yasser Arafat of Palestine shook hands with him (General Abacha)What a country? 1. So Al-Mustapha is saying Abacha took ill right after he shook hands with one "white" security operative of Yasser Arafat at the airport. Hmm, unless the security operative in question was a senior official, how common is it that heads of states shakes hands with security operatives or personnel? 2. At 6pm, Abacha was attended to by his doctor and asked to have a short rest. He dutifully dis-obeyed by receiving visitors and partying on until 3.35am with Useni at the Guest House! I mean where else will be better to keep the prostitutes at Aso Rock, not in the main residence where his wife and children were staying! 3. Lastly, after the "security boys" found him unstable, rather than call the doctor right away, they rushed out to call Al-Mustapha. Maybe, the doctor would have managed to stabilize him again if he had gotten there on time. This is what absolute power does to you since nothing happens without Al-Mustapha signing off. Oh, and of course he went about trying to pick the next leader - a mere major like him was ordering generals about. I bet that was the saddest day in his life - the day he lost all the powers that Abacha had bestowed on him. |
2. China has made great strides militarily, but its no match for the US. You don't get to spend over a $trillion a year in defence for nothing. There is no country that can project power all around the world like the US does today. As mentioned above, the US is already at the Chinese doorsteps via Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan with sub marines and carriers that have or can carry nuclear warheads. US is not interested in gong to war with China, but if one comes, China will not know what hit them. If they manage to survive the first round, they will hit back but with a lesser power. The US will of course complete the job in the next round. Keep in mind you are talking about the only country that have actually used nuclear weapons!should be spend over half a $trillion a year in defence |
