There is no disputing the fact that Kogi as a state is asleep. However, if you compare Kogi state to Nigeria's present situation , you would agree that Nigeria is in slumber. Your Vp is a charcoal that is complaining that a pot is black.

Please tone down on your bright colours usage. They are exciting, but not always verry good to the eyes.
I love your works. They are very good.

Properties / Re: COREN Wants Death Sentence For Owners Of Collapsed Buildings by j2012(m): 1:57pm On Aug 17, 2014
oyb: there are multiple possible points of failure finding the root cause of building collapse

design [the possibility that the building may not even have been designed by an engineer in the first place]. . very often, an architect or draftsman may just copy paste some old drawings, or use his experience. during approval, once the right people are settled, all the necessary stamps from coren registered engineers and building agencies are added. design has passed muster

specification [ the design engineer may have put the wrong spec of materials required for building structure] improper mix of concrete, improper schedule of pipe, etc

owner the owner may not be willing to spend Bleep millions on a building, and will then engage someone who can do it for less than the estimates provided by professionals. this someone may cut corners that should not be cut.the baba suwe builder who hs been building houses for 20 years [ understands the how but not the why]

contractor [ a contractor may be paid in full , may be provided with all the right designs documentation , etc, but because of greed and the desire for 300% ptofit, will choose to skimp on materials. it may even be worse, while the oga of the construction company intends to do the right thing, his boys cut corners behind his back , putting 20cubic meters of gravel where 15 cubic were recommended]

dubious materials retailers [one of the biggest banes of the construction industry. the people who will sell you substandard materials, cleverly disguised as the original thing. if you are not experienced or in contact with very honest sellers, you can quickly get into trouble. it is a very real problem that i have been a victim of in the past. i specified a cable sized 95mm as a replacement. this cable came to over 1 million naira. the contractor installed it , we signed off. two months later, the cable started overheating [signs of cable being undersized'] i went over my calculations , checked everywhere - i could not understand what the issue was. eventually we replaced the cable with an even larger size. a different contractor did the replacement. during the replacement, i was called aside and shown that teh cable was actually 70mmsq. someone has scraped off the size and stamped 95mm on the cable. no way of knowing if it was the original contractor, his supplier, or the two of them conniving]

crooked professionals [yes you can engage professionals to design, monitor and supervise your project. the sad thing is that they may be your typical nigerians, who are bent on ripping you off for every kobo. they make up issues for additional money , refuse to sign off on contractors work unless they are settled. once a supervising engineer is compromised, your project is in trouble, because there is no one to put the contractor in check. in my earlier days when i visited sites harassing contractors and challenging them on defects, it was 90% the same reaction - they would hastily pull me aside and make an offering - because for them, all the noise was a demand for settlement.

greedy government supervisors. these government agencies are wholly interested in one thing only - money and settlement. no better than frsc who can give driving licenses to blind men or vio that will certify trucks that should be condemned as road worthy. and a lot of these chest thumping coren throwing around 'professionals' are the worst - the masters of copying and pasting without any clear understanding of the principles

Best response so far.

Learn to call a spade a spade. Inspired is messing up, and if you can't tell him the truth because of his age then the least you can do is not to allow him dictate your actions here. Deleting the thread because you are protecting inspired, and then putting it back up again has splattered egg all over your face.

Wise up bro because it is making people call you embarassing names (and rightly so). And in addition, advise your big brother inspired to get his acts together.

dozzzybaba: Chris Ngige is an efulefu and a saboteur.
We Igbos are solidly behind our son Goodluck Ebele 'Azikiwe' Jonathan.

If Gej does not build the 2nd Niger Bridge for us, we igbos will still vote for him

If Gej does not build the onitcha seaport he promised us during his 2011 election campaign, we igbos will still vote for him

If Gej neglects the Umuahia-Akwa ibom road within the Abia state axis which is the worst federal road in Nigeria, we igbos will still vote for him.

Vote Goodluck EBOLA Jonathan

You and your goodluck are on your own.

2020 is also too far. 2016 or even 2015 will do.

Location will also matter.

By 2030, I think there won't be Twitter. It might have become obsolete or evolved into something else.

How does exhibiting ones work translate to advertising?

These architects will never cease to amaze me, always destructively criticising their fellows, to the extent of even calling him a draughtman.

Most of their works can't even compare with what this poster exhibited here.
Give them a bit of chance, and all those crying foul will fill this place with their own works.
If I am this designer, I won't even bother replying or responding to their posts.
What about those plans on the internet with their designer or architects name on it? Are they also advertising?

Alvin Toffler said "the illiterate of the 21st century will not be those who cannot read & write but those who cannot learn, unlearn & relearn.

All those policies, laws, dos and donts that were laid down by the older architects should all be reviewed.

Were they done when the internet was in place?
Also, why must one be good and hide his talent/skill?
If this guy didn't exhibit his works, would he have been known or discovered?
The clients that he put smiles on their faces, would they have known that he exists?

Let's be very realistic here, how has those NIA laws affected the upcoming generation positively.
Go and sample the views of most upcoming architects, they will tell you that NIA doesn't care for them at all, doesn't have their progress at heart.
If there was a way of backing out from the said association, most will do so.
Most of those older architects got their seals on a platter of gold and then set some difficult procedures for upcoming ones.

My brother, I will definitely give you a call. I will need your services soon.
