It is not the culture of Igbos to lie down and greet anyone. Even a regular Igbo man will not do that except for fun, how much more a titled man! He stands as a representative of the Igbos and a custodian of Igbo norms n tradition outside Igbo land and they are not subject to the yoruba so the Eze ndigbo will not bow to the Deji as it is not in his culture and tradition to do so.

How can a whole Deji be so petty over one lying down to greet him? Is he d first yoruba traditional ruler to receive Igbo leaders in his palace?

the moment you step your feet in my land my culture is above yours. that is why we have customary courts and the king's court. if I go to anambra and display my Python hunting prowess and kill 5pythons in one day ibos will call for my head because it is forbidden by the tradition. the Deji is only next to the gods in akure land. it is the custom and tradition so the eze either bows to him or he's flogged again and again.

BTW it is the duty of the king to give chieftaincy titles. he has decided to modify the name of the title for him. let him take it like that after all it's only the name that is different like you said

which one is jealousy there? the Deji is constitutionally empowered to give and take chieftaincy titles as he so wishes within his jurisdiction which is akure. if your ibo brothers can't respect other people's tradition then he's free to leave akure. you can't wear your own crown to the Deji's palace and expect him to give u a pat on the back

all these drama would have been avoided if the so called eze ndigbo had gone down flat to greet the king when he visited the palace. the king in Yoruba land is a supreme being and he's only next to the gods. that's the tradition. instead of the disrespectful eze to bow to the king he went there with his own crown. what a mor0n!!!
The Deji's action is constitutional. as the number one traditional ruler recognised by the law he has the power to give and take chieftaincy titles within his jurisdiction which is akure. if the ibo don't like his decision they are free to leave akure en masse. case closed
