the three ports in the southeast are functional. the only challenges are
- security/piracy by ND millitants which the FG is tackling by launching 2 warships and several gunboats and helicopters to safeguard the water ways this June

- traffic... the FG can't force ships to go to the ports. the ships decide where they go to so if your people keep making their shipments to the ports in the south south then traffic will increase gradually and ships will follow the traffic and start using the ports more

I stayed in calabar for over a year and I used to drive to MDS logistics around the port. there is traffic in that port. infact trailers and tankers obstruct traffic along the port and the port has been witnessing increased traffic gradually over the years.

I've not been to onne port but it's the best port in the country now in terms of management. it's the best run port in Nigeria!!! from reports on the NPA website onne port has more traffic than calabar port.

encourage your brothers to start using the port. it will be less convenient initially because traffic demand to the port is not as high as tin can and apapa but without the traffic being diverted to that side ships won't go there. your people are the key to making those ports work.
