Not that igbo's are respecting ur traditions and customs but u guys are envious of their achievements in your land, before was Oba of Lagos and now is oba Akure, I think their use igbo race to gained popularity.
yeah yeah yeah the old stale envy line grin achievement indeed. achievement that left you iPod yoots desperately trying to get of Nigeria. achievement that has failed to translate to development for your region. what a joke cheesy

Deji is the one that should go to court, unless he wishes to take laws into his hands. This time around, he will be thoroughly embarrassed.
the law is already behind the Deji as he was presented with a staff of office by the governor when he was crowned. the same can not be said of your eze. if he goes against the directive he'll be flogged again and again and there's nothing anyone can do

@ the bolded, that is exactly my point. If I live in akure, I can go around and proclaim to the world that I am the Eze of my family and my compound in akure. As far as I don't usurp the authority of the Deji of akure over the akure pple, I am entirely within my rights to rule my compound and my family.
That is exactly the circumstance we are looking at here. The eze ndigbo is not usurping the authority of the Deji. He acknowledges that the Deji is the monarch over all akure. His pple however selected him and said be our leader in akure. Be our representative in front of the Deji. As our tradition demands, we will call u 'Eze'. That is all. If not for spite, the stupid Deji need not worry his petty head over what the igbo chose to call their leader, as long as they did not crown him another Deji and as long as his activities does not usurp the authority of the dDeji.
lol in that case you will only be the eze of your family. ipobs are only know for chest beating. no same ethnic tribe will allow outsiders disrespect their customers especially when he has been staying in the land for several years

Then stop talking about killing pythons. There is a law in Nigeria against indiscriminate killing of wildlife with jail sentences. So if Nigeria was to be a law abiding nation, you won't be killing wildlife anyways. So if you want to talk about culture, please choose another topic aside killing wildlife.
lol a law against wildlife preservation in Nigeria? what a joke grin with all those pictures of pythons being killed online daily? abeg carry your wahala go. I only used it as an example. I've never killed a snake so swerve

The world is talking about wildlife preservation and people are making money writing on the importance of wildlife preservation and you are here talking about killing pythons. Is killing pythons what you understand by wildlife preservation?
wild life preservation is a topic for another day. the point here is customs and traditions. I won't go to IBO land and piss on their tradition. an IBO man shouldn't come to my land and do that either

We're talking of an Igbo title and not a Yoruba one. The Eze Ndigbo title has absolutely nothing to do with the traditional stool of Akure. If i decide to name myself the Eze of my family does not the Deji also have the right to interfere?
it has plenty to do. you don't just enter someone's house and call yourself a co-landord. even if you want to be chief tenant it has to be with respect to the cultures and traditions of your host.

BTW if you call yourself the eze of your family no one will interfere. the Deji is the custodian of the customs and tradition in Akure. if you want a chieftaincy title in akure then seek his approval. let the eze change his title to eze ndigbo of kuvukiland and it will cease to be our business

So Ooni will have to remove his crown if he visits your so called Deji
oga don't try to drag the argument elsewhere. the Ooni is a superior king to the Deji and he'll call himself the Ooni of Ife not the Ooni of akure. if your man wants to keep the eze title let him remove any Yoruba town from the title and call himself the eze of kuvukiland for all we care grin

Apples and oranges. As much as i understand the part about respecting the tradition of the people but traditional does not thump the law of the land. And i don't see how calling oneself Eze ndigbo in Akure is against the tradition of the land because if it were so, then calling your self the other titles prescribed by the Deji will also be in variance with the tradition. The Deji is just an insecure c.unt (no offense)
yes he's free to call himself the eze but not without the authority of the Deji who is the traditional ruler of the role of akure. the eze can only have the title if the Deji says so. The Deji is in charge of giving and taking chieftaincy titles.

Ah! That's d difference between the Igbo and the Yoruba. We are republican and therefore no one being takes a decision over and above all others without consultation and agreement. The Deji cannot change the title of the Igbo representative just because of his personal desire and we will not just accept the way you do because we are not wired thar way and it is not in our nature. Also understand that traditional rules are personal rules only binding on adherents or indigenes of that area. The Deji does not decide who amongthe Igbo will bear a title and what thar title will be.

We will respect your traditional norms but will not lose ours in the process.
well as a Yoruba man I'm not wired to watch a snake crawl through my door and exit through the window just because it is forbidden by ibo laws. so if I build my mansion in Onitsha and I see a Python in my house am I free to kill it?

good for you in IBOland. for Yoruba the Deji is above all things in akure (Oba Ba Lori oun gbogbo). so he has the authority to modify or even cancel the title outrightly!!! if you can't handle our tradition then leave. case closed

In other words, u cannot kill pythons in Anambra state but the Obi of Onitsha will not choose the title ur representative will bear in Igboland neither will he give u an ultimatum to accept what he has chosen or have your people vote and present another person as your representative. That is not within his power and neither is it in the power of the Deji to do so.
aunty we are saying the same thing. so I can kill pythons in anambra just because I've had a meeting with my fellow yorubas in ibo land and they voted in favour of killing pythons. I'm educating you on logic here which I'm not supposed to do. it is Yoruba tradition that the king is above all things. which means anyone that has to hold any tradition title either by vote or not in akure has to seek the approval of the Deji first. the approval has been granted by the every gracious king but the merciful king has only decided to change the name of the title. he has the authority to do so. it is our custom. I won't blame you if you can't rationalise it. just accept it like we do. simple

On the contrary, ur culture does not swallow up those of other visitors or non indigenes. That is the reason there is something called diversity. The representative of a group of people does not divest himself of the authority bestowed on him because he is in the presence of the indigenous traditional ruler, that is what represents the identity of his people.
It might even be marginally tolerable if d Deji throws his tantrum over d comportment of Eze Ndigbo in his presence though certainly not that flogging, that only mirrors the lawlessness of the Nigerian state, but attempting to also change his title and replace with another is the joke of the century. Does he know or understand the spirit significance of that title to the Igbo?
so it's OK fr me to come to anambra with my boys and kill pythons?

The ezendigbo position is not a traditional or chieftaincy title.please get some education. It is an elected position of leadership for Igbo's living in ondo state.Only his constituents can remove him,the deji can bark from now till 2020,only the Igbo community in ondo state can remove him
you are the one that needs to get some education. the eze is a traditional title. the Deji respectedbthe choice of the ibos until he decided to appoint his own chiefs and disrespect the king. answer this simple question. will it be okay if the Yoruba community in anambra votes in favour of killing pythons? will the Ibos accept our decision and allow us kill as many pythons as we want?
