Nigerians and religion smh, what exactly makes the act silly? Is it because the hypocrites in society say so? "Confess to your pastor bla bla bla." See the way people are condemning as if they're perfect, sanctimonious holier-than-thou self righteous hypocrites!! angry

If your friend wants to stop because he wants to stop then fine, he can try weaning himself because habits are hard to break. He'll need time and patience, in the meantime, let him love himself and stop caring what hypocrites think.

God loves us and the evidence of that is in the blood of Jesus, your pastor is not your God. Best of luck to you both smiley
But isn't loving himself what he's trying to stop?

ProgrammingRe: Building An App That Lets Users Locate A Power Source Nearest To Them. by jajad: 1:39pm On Feb 06, 2015
lordZOUGA:
We don't have steady power in this country, this implies that we don't always have power when we need it. But an app like this will help us find power even if we don't have it.

That is a step in the direction of having power all the time. If you can't get the power, you go to it. smiley

The data to be used for this will be crowd sourced of course. It will take time to build up the data but that should not be an issue.

The data will be open-sourced and so is this project. I think.

From what I can see, there is no reason not to build this app.

What do you think? or Who is interested in developing it?
I'm not sure I understand. How does one access, or go to this power?

Yup yup. TURN the channel to Channel 10.

Nigerians are fools. So are their reporters and editors.
The correct figure is obviously N43 million. But that figure is too reasonable. We all know Jonathan is a greedy, clueless man from Otueke. *shaking head sadly*

airsaylongcon: started programming at 13 back in the day when programs where saved on radio cassette tapes (TDK never ever failed) my first language was the original BASIC where we were limited to 80-column screens! I still write my programs no longer than 80 characters per line. We connected the computer then to the TV screen and woe betide you if you were programming at 4pm when NTA was about to start broadcasting. We didn't have the luxury of operating systems talkless of GUI then. Just a blank screen with a prompt that just said READY>. Oh and to do graphic programming then, we used PEEK and POKE keywords. Was bloody as hell then oh...no internet so books was the only way...once one of us had a new programming book, the book name na sorry because everyone go read am type the programs therein until the book tear to pieces. Then there was a book written by C.S. French...Lord bless him but that was the Larcombe's of programming then
I see you're my fellow Commodore 64 brother. I did that too.
LiteratureRe: Chimamanda Adichie's 'Americanah' Tops BBC's Top 10 Books Of 2013 by jajad: 1:52pm On Dec 20, 2013
This is really nice. Congratulations to her. But for balance, Americanah was on some worst of the year lists too.

Americanah by Chimananda Ngozi Adichie – 2013 saw a more virulent rash of arrogant, preening foreigners using their book contracts to sling mud ineptly on the culture that made those book contracts possible than it’s seen since the backlash the US incurred by saving the world from Hitler – only this time without the literary talent. Of the many examples of this deplorable trend in 2013, Americanah was by a wide margin the worst, not only for its many blocks of exposition about how racist everything is but for its bloated self-satisfaction that those blocks of exposition are in fact what the book’s paying customers came here for. This last may be right; they certainly didn’t come for plot, character development, or dialogue, all three of which steadfastly remain at the grade school level in this story of a pure-hearted ingenue who emigrates to horrible, racist America (where even the gated academies aren’t truly color-blind, and where no black person could ever dream of being the country’s highest-paid sports celebrity, most-beloved TV star, or, you know, President) and encounters mean people in her quest for a world as perfect as she is.

pickabeau1: Interestingly that gesture is despised globally

You mess all the fish for river Niger say awiseey

You sneeze put am for bread say Na Indian butter

Devil enter warri comot with slippers
Actually, this was "Are we safe?"
Interesting example of a phrase completely losing its original meaning.

For example, in my time we used to say, "See your tum tum belle like scally wa wa!"
I have NO idea what that means.

I suppose the list is only for videos watched by Nigerians. It just goes to show how popular P-Square is around Africa and the rest of the world. Nigerians are a small fraction of their fan base.

So tell me whats the correlation between having security certificates or ssl protocols on your website and the speed of loading pages?
Umm... actually, if all other things are equal, a secure site will be that wee bit slower than the unsecure site. Encryption isn't free you know. Is that why Nairaland is faster than GTB? No. Nairaland is just DESIGNED BETTER. smiley

Nice one Ikenna.

I was there too but wasn't too impressed. I expected a lot more players in the automotive industry as well as other car manufacturers such as BMW, Innoson, Anammco, Honda, Land Rover, MG, Nissan etc.

I also expected to see motorbikes and tricycles as its not only cars that you would find in a motor show.

No refreshments and nothing entertaining. Very bland.

brabus: Unit 1 foundation is fully ready and block work starts today but here on this post im going to name the people behind the work. I’m only able to write about it now because we've officially completed a major hurdle and I’m satisfied with who I should name, who I shouldn’t name, and what the costs are. Although, I'm going to be extremely careful about naming subcontractors on this site because Google have the ability to make or break someone’s business, depending on what is written about them.

The 3 categories of subcontractors working on this project:

Did a great job, would recommend. So far, almost everyone has fit into this category except for the carpenter who worked on the Unit 2. He's (the carpenter) fired already.
The man-of-the-stage (if there's an award like that is Clement Carpenter who charged a reasonable fee and did a great job on Unit 1 and a lot of corrections on Unit 2. Hopefully this leads to more business for him.

Things didn’t go well for one reason or another, but the person was honest and tried to make it right. In this situation, only one subcontractor fit into this category and that is the Welder working on Unit 2. If I write about the entire process that didnt go well and named the contractor, it would have the effect of casting the person in a negative light, and I do not wish to do this.

Things were a disaster and I want to publicly warn readers to stay away. About 3 people fit into this category, as there have been a couple of situations where the final resolution from someone from the previous group saved the situation.

People in this category includes:

Carpenter working on Unit 2 - FIRED
Project Supervisor - FIRED
The Architect who drew the initial plan - FIRED
Chief Brabus, I see you love that house by the park blog too! See money! See house!! smiley

topeliasu: Sister Ese of God i celebrate you, surely there are 2sides to every story, you see ese, theres more to christainity than being a church goer, christainity is a religion,COZA is not a religion, its obvious you got it wrong from the start no wonder you missed it @ d end, The Commonwealth of Zion Assembly is not a church its an Assembly,(i.e a group of pep gathered together in one place for a common purpose) we r not a generation dat plays church(i.e a building used for christain worship, a particular christain org with its own clergy building and distinct doctrines),we r not self righteous, you see this drama you just pulled on, all of this is on u,

Am a part of Coza's workforce, ilorin chapter, though am currently in abuja, n i attend coza abuja,i simply cannot relate with you, coz i keep 1dering if you were a snitch 4rm day 1,if u went through the trainings i went tru b4 n after i joined d workforce, and if you understood what COZA stands for, obviously u dont, i have told people dat being part of a church doesnt automatically qualify you as a christain, neida does being in the workforce am sure u can relate wit dis, coz even afta you supposedly joined d work force, you carried on your way of life, i cant really call it your past coz its your present, in regards to what you said about the fact that we dress on point to outshine each other, well like any other workforce within or outside a religious sect, its made up of humans n most of the attributes of being human is the flare for competition + jealousy, which can not be void even in d house of God, its glaring dat u came to church every sunday n tuesday, enjoyed d mirage of being amongst us,said i celebrate you to a thousand people, sat on 1 of our lovely chairs, enjoyed d spark and ambience of the hall, u cudnt get ur bottom up, and yet u never connected, if u havent noticed coza is not for the saved, its for the fallen, those who seekd to find the grace to stand again, its home to a lot of people,

Lets say there's a truth in all u said, hahaha, so did he point a gun to ur brain, and then due to your history in waywardness we know your wild enough to differentiate, black from white but you kept on going. Back, awwn we all understand what is wrong with u,you obviously wanted more,

Its a pity our society is not an organized 1, else you'll be sued n wen we win, Coza always win, u'll pay till dat your family wealth dries up,

You remember the story of solomon and david, every saint has a past and every sinner has a future, sincerely find jesus ese, and find peace then find your future, donot touch God's annointed,

#proudly COZA
