PoliticsRe: Is Nigeria Practising Socialism Or Capitalism? by jajad: 11:59am On Aug 23, 2013
mr_king: bro I'm not unmindful of the †ђξ fact that we partly practice a mixed economy! But like I said earlier, I refuse to go with the Bandwagon effect! bro wake up to reality! And forget what's wriiten on Google! Or wikipedia! Anyone can write what ever he feels on †ђξ Internet! Ξνεяγтнïทg about NIGERIA smells CAPITALISM! What is being practiced here is like 80% capitalism and 20% socialism! So do you call this a mixed economy? Go back and read all you know about capitalism and socialism! Then come back here and engage me!! Every sector in Nigeria smells capitalism! Even in our churches today! You still find exploitation! Where in †ђξ world do you have to pay to Get Government jobs? What can be worst than that? Go to other countries like I mentioned Malaysia previously! And see †ђξ practical definition of socialism! So bro! As a social scientist! You have to be independently minded! You have to stand out! And don't believe all you read on wikipedia!! You should have †ђξ ability to question some things! And don't just assimilate all you read!! Enough said!!
Good stuff. Believing everything you read without examining it critically is almost as bad as not reading at all. (see Christianity, Islam, etc.) angry

Gombs: ...Sir, lemme ask you a candid question..

"When last did you pay your tithe?"

If you do pay tithe, I'll assume they were paid correctly and completely. Now, when last did you pay em?

If you haven't been paying, my advice for you is start paying..God promised to rebuke the devourer for your sake when you tithe. Obviously, if you don't give 10% of it to him, the devourer would come for the whole of it, either by robbery, fraudsters, unnecessary bills to treat illness, police mata, etc

And as for the stolen 90k...this is my advice

Bournvitanisha: Why was the girl beaten and flogged? huh
Not only for the unfortunate circumstance of being conceived into a fraternal relationship with the apprehended pilferer, but for possessing the temerity to disclose the said relationship. Her emotional state must have precipitated this unsagacious behaviour.

I'm sorry, it's Obahiagbon's fault.

SportsRe: Nigerian Players Banned For Life For Match-fixing Scandal by jajad: 9:46pm On Jul 23, 2013
Okiki_Oluwa: Fellow Nigerians, I Chief Dr Okiki_Oluwa is here today to erase the fallacious story that India defeated Nigeria 100-1 in a football match in 1976, 1886 or whatever year. It's an ugly lie.
Chief, you are the one that is lying. My grandfather said his friend told him all about it. His (my grandfather's friend) friend knew an Indian woman from Bangalore whose uncle's in-law played in that very match. It actually happened. Most of our players that took part in the match refused to come back home because of the shame. Their families disowned them in shame. Yes, we must be proud of our country but there is no need to shamelessly rewrite history. We must learn from our previous mistakes and this case is one where we seem to have done so. We are champions of Africa and should FIFA ever make the mistake of unbanning India I am sure that the new and improved Eagles will teach them a lesson they will never forget. Of course the NFF will need to unban the players involved in these matches. The 14-goal-a-game striker will come in handy in such a match.
EducationRe: Cut-off Marks For 2013 National Common Entrance Examination Released by jajad: 10:08pm On Jun 10, 2013
eaglechild: On the other hand if 1 million Anambra students sit for the exam and all score 130 and their cut off mark is 139 will any be admitted?
So my dear friend, for the cut off to be 139 it simply means that going by your assertion a large number of Anambra students scored above 139 vs the number of people from other states who scored above their cut off marks so as to get an even distribution.
In any case my village pple are the ones making the high scores.
My, my, my.
EducationRe: Cut-off Marks For 2013 National Common Entrance Examination Released by jajad: 9:07pm On Jun 10, 2013
eaglechild: Your last sentence is false.
The students from states with higher cut off marks have higher scores and are thus more intelligent, simple.
They may also have higher number of applicants but this is not always the case.
If you take the mean score of each state Anambra will still come out tops.
Actually the Hon. Kontigi is quite right, and you, my dear are quite wrong.
You cannot infer that the average score of Anambra students is the highest.
If each state has 100 slots and only 45 people from Sokoto take the examination, the lowest scoring among them (let's say she scores 2), will always get in. And the other 44 may have an average score of 150! Of course this isn't a realistic scenario, but it shows how the number of people applying from a particular state can affect the cut off mark.

PS: This is how people fail in aptitude tests, and say people from their village are against them.

People are getting richer. Business is good!

PoliticsRe: ActionAid - 80% Of Nigerians Not Living Above A-Dollar-A-Day by jajad: 10:50am On May 22, 2013
MARK-REN:
It is funny how we sit on our chairs and become overnight analysts after reading “one liners” and headlines without any investigation.
How many of us travel outside our areas of commute to & from work?
How many of us go to the Hinterland outside Lagos, state capitals or business hubs where we reside. Over 65% of our population still live in Villages outside these areas , and that is where the “real” poverty our statisticians are talking about is: Where people earn less than a dollar a day.
Just becos you have internet access & manage to look after yourself and family in the city, does not mean its like that for all people ( I served in a village in this country were you grow what you eat and sell the rest in exchange for other necessities, which they cannot still afford. Even in my Village in addition to this, we have a lot of Idle people with no livelihood who rely of “Transfer Payments” for people living in the town to survive) . And for the ignorant comment on paying a laborer over "N200", have you asked him how many dependants he has here and in his village to cater for after paying all the Omonile/Govt dues to enable him operate his cart in the market?.
I don’t need to be a statistician to deduce all this it is right there in our faces but we choose not to see becos we are so blinded by our ignorance, selfishness, tribal sentiments and religious dogma
We should stop this myopic way of analysis and comments on issues if we want move forward as a nation.
Reading some comments on nairaland on issues make me wonder if there is hope at all for this nation as it is no different for those made by the so called leaders we also criticize..................
People living in towns and cities think that's all the Nigeria there is.

asudan: At the moment it is not possible.only etisalat, airtel and probably glo that is doing auto renewal.
Seun: I can confirm that Glo does auto-renewal too. Anytime you subscribe for or renew a plan, they turn it on, and you have to turn it off if you don't want it.
Yeah, I thought so too. But I saw this on MTN's site.

Data Rollover: Now you can rollover your unused internet data to the next month subscription. All you have to do is ensure that you auto-renew your data subscription before it expires and your unused data is automatically moved to the next month.
Note that data rollover feature is only applicable to monthly plans.
Are marketers at it again?

FamilyMy Wife Is My Sister by jajad(op): 5:47pm On Feb 19, 2013
Nasty Surprise: When my wife and I met in college, the attraction was immediate, and we quickly became inseparable. We had a number of things in common, we came from the same large metropolitan area, and we both wanted to return there after school, so everything was very natural between us. We married soon after graduation, moved back closer to our families, and had three children by the time we were 30. We were both born to lesbians, she to a couple, and me to a single woman. She had sought out her biological father as soon as she turned 18, as the sperm bank her parents used allowed contact once the children were 18 if both parties consented. I never was interested in learning about that for myself, but she felt we were cheating our future children by not learning everything we could about my past, too. Well, our anniversary is coming up and I decided to go ahead and, as a present to my wife, see if my biological father was interested in contact as well. He was, and even though our parents had used different sperm banks, it appears so did our father, as he is the same person. On the one hand, I love my wife more than I can say, and logically, done is done, we already have children. I have had a vasectomy, so we won't be having any more, so perhaps there is no harm in continuing as we are. But, I can't help but think "This is my sister" every time I look at her now. I haven't said anything to her yet, and I don't know if I should or not. Where do I go from here? I am tempted to burn everything I got from the sperm bank and just try to forget it all, but I'm not sure if I can. Please help me figure out where to go from here.
See the advice given to him here:
