Not until Jegede started contesting, I wonder how much people know about him in Ondo state apart from being the attorney general. (I personally met him for the first and only time in 2013 at a wedding reception which he was the chairman and the few comments from few guys who knew him was that he's a stingy man, which was obvious to anyone on that day). Now saying that he's the friend of the masses, I find it difficult to accept. Personally, I'll rather vote for him than Jimoh Ibrahim, '419' as you most rightly called him. However, I just think it's high time we stopped supporting political candidates out of sentiments .i.e. political party, tribe or religion. For instance, I know many people who are supporting Jegede being an indigene of Akure (because no Akure indigene had ever ruled the state democratically despite being the state capital). Most of my old school colleagues are supporting him based on the fact that he's an old student of Aquinas College, so funny!.... As usual, We'll just vote based on sentiment and after 1 or 2 years we start ranting and wailing. Anyway, I don't even see who among them is the messiah to liberate the state from it's present woes, they're all thieves and I don't think anyone should feel too sad for Jegede's removal. The handwriting is on the wall; he was brought by Mimiko to cover/ clean up his mess but God has said No! |

This is the reason why the future of Nigeria is in doubt, I mean aImost hopeless when even youths who are the future lack what is needed to brighten up the future. What a shame that youths, in this modern age still sit down to castigate one tribe and fight ethnic wars. Until we start seeing one another as Nigerians rather than Ibo, Yoruba or Hausa, this country has no hope, especially when this attitude is coming from youths. |
