Overseas medical treatment

Over the years, public servants have been used to travelling abroad at the expense of the Federal Government for treatment of ailments that can be satisfactorily tackled in Nigeria. Should this be stopped?

Here are comments from nairaland.com

Venchy: All public servants should all stay behind and be treated like every other citizen in the country, just like Mandela never stepped out of South Africa. In this country, there is no respect for human lives. Even animals in Europe receive a better health care compared to what ordinary people get in Nigeria.

Ekobiz: It is a good idea, if not they won’t know we need good health facilities here.

Aboki: How do we sufficiently determine that a government official is funding his medical trip from personal money and not the tax payer’s money? When the money in his account in the first place is the government money already looted. What we need is a focus on the development of the healthcare infrastructure across the country, a feat that would encourage patronage of these facilities. Even if the elite chose to go overseas for their healthcare needs, the better infrastructures would serve the masses.

Audinowing: This idea should be encouraged and implemented to ensure equality in the society. If our public officials are aware that they can not travel out for medical treatments they will be forced to provide the health facilities which will be for the good of the country as whole.

Definition of a good job

All workers are supposed to be in jobs that reward them appropriately for their performance, which depends on their skills and effort. How would you define a good job?

Damojo: Any job that allows me to wake up at 7am and not located on the Island such that I can always avoid Third Mainland Bridge traffic. Besides, it must allow me to wear jeans and T-shirt, and make me close at 5:30pm, but gives me the opportunity to travel round the world on study tours and offers over N8m per annum is a good job.

Rozayx5: A job that does not take away your life in the name of salary, imagine earning N10m a week and having only one hour to see your kids and loved ones in a week.

Ayox2003: A job must have a little bit of independence/autonomy (being able to make decisions); complexity (at least it must demand some skills, talent and intellect), and a connection between effort and reward (good salary). These are what makes a job meaningful.

Leatherman: Hmmnn, there cannot be a generic description for a good job because it will vary as much as the world’s working class population. However, a good job should provide basic life needs.

naijababe: Gotta love Draghi and those ECB folks cheesy. Hunting knife ready to mutilate EJ
Needed 'pep' to enter your long on EJ but I dey target 121

kenny1984: Hope you sold EU,its down by 55 pips. The 100EMA on the 15min tf was a major resistance. Coupled with the inverted hammer right under the 100 EMA.guess my instinct told me to closed my buy earlier before this.GU buy served me well by delivering 78 pips. Also closed my AU trades for small profit because of whats happening to EU
Sold Eur/GBP rather because that EU no reach today's high as expected.

kenny1984: Closed EU for small profit of 8 pips. Not sure what ECB would do by 1:30.Leaving GU and AU Buy running.Am very sure of those two...

naijababe: It might and it might not! NFP might provide the opportunity for missers like me to get in.

The real reason why I missed the trade was because there was no specific time listed on FF and I was not going to wait the whole night for it.
ECB may give you the needed 'pep'. I'm seeing a downward move for EU.....maybe maybe this is the start of the "currency war"

Piponomics: Would want to make two requests please, let's all resolve to ignore that slowpoke posting the religious balderdash.. With every reply he gets encouraged. If everyone ignores him, he won't bother typing the drivel again.
Secondly, I would like to suggest that we make the seasons of the thread to be in accordance with the year. For example, since we are in 2013, we can stay in season 13 till the end of the year and open season 14 in January 2014. Afterall Seun has lifted the embargo on threads going above 100pages.
Just a suggestion though.
Once again, welcome everyone!
THIS IS EVERYBODY'S RESOLUTION HERE AND WE MUST STICK TO IT. GBAM!!!
