Piponomics: Oga, no two months are the same. You could achieve 30% in one month and 300% the next. Some "pro" traders will tell you to not target anything above 10% a month. That is their own realistic target. Imagine telling that to someone who is running a $1000 account? Is the $100 (10%) he is going to make in a month enough for internet subscription and eating good food? LOL. The individual would be better off putting that money elsewhere not Forex. On the other hand, if the capital was $100,000 then it could be feasible (although I won't count 10,000 a month a reasonable return from $100,000). So in essence, simply be more bothered about a good trading strategy and also make sure you are disciplined enough to use reasonable trade sizes. Then you can sit back and allow the markets to set the "realistic goals" for you.

You sound like a real typical Nigerian businessman who always set up a business with no business plan and target/vision ahead and after few months the business collapse, and then he blames others for his misfortune. This is the reason why we see SMEs fold up in this country. Granted we have electricity problem and high internet tariff but we need to factor these costs in our forex business plan when starting out. With $1,000 to manage, 10% realistic target is very feasible for a forex trader per month but I'll always advocate 20% - 25% for someone who has bills every month and no other primary source of income.

Let's deal on a real life scenario of a Lagos forex trader who has a bill to offset every month say with a target of 25%:

Accommodation/rent: #10,000
Internet: #10,000
Electricity/fuel: #6,000
Feeding: #10,000 (I'm assuming you are a good cook like Forexmart 'cos you'll spend less than eating outdoor)
This is a total of #36,000 per month which is equivalent to $225. If you divide $225 by 20 trading days we will be targeting like $12 per day or $60 or 60 pips per week minimum. Remember also that we will be risking not more than 1% which is total lot size to trade $1,000 must not exceed 0.1 lot for all open trades. Now if we add the starting out capital ($1,000) and cost to offset ($225), we will have a virtual cost of $1,225 (gross). If we can keep to the target, we may even exceed than our target far higher within some days and we won't need to be trading during boring days which may reduce some of our expenses like fuel and internet. Thus we can say 10% makes sense to achieve as our "net profit". With discipline, then in the long term we can count ourself among the 5% successful trader.

Even if a trend shift exist I don't think it will be so sudden to wipe out your account except you are using super-abnormal lot size.

They can go as far as threatening uniform men who arrest them by faking a phone call to a "superior" in ABJ or anywhere, whereas they are actually calling one of their links in the group. Only on one condition we can fully trust him: if he scan and upload his admission leta which will be STC by K2wise or anyone else.
