FamilyRe: At What Age Should A Male Son Stop Bathing With Their Mom? by JallowBah(f): 4:56am On Nov 25, 2012
Siena: Personal opinion? I'd have thought a mother wouldn't have taken a bath with her baby boy in the first instance. Just the same way a father shouldn't bathe with his baby daughter, regardless of how young they are. I would not dream of climbing into the bath with my daughter, even if she was just a month old.

These are my opinions though, and others may see things differently.
Why?

I will continue to take baths with my daughter, and son if I ever get one, until they do not need my help anymore, or don`t feel comfortable with me there.

If my daughter take a bath with her father, and ask why he look different than her, I hope he just explains that it`s because he is a boy, she is a girl, and they look different. The human body is nothing to be embarrassed about, quite opposite.
FamilyRe: Raging Pregnancy Hormones? by JallowBah(f): 4:52am On Nov 25, 2012
Wuh, I did not even knew how bad I was during the pregnancy before 6months after the baby was born.
Me and my husband was living in a one-room apartment, and sitting on the bed eating and watching TV.
I got so damn angry at him for eating nuts TOO LOUD that I told him to get his as* to the bathroom, or outside, if he was going to eat like that. Lol.
I also told him many other things, but that one..? I cried for nothing, I got angry at him for leaving a spoon on the counter, or not hanging the towel straight.
I would fight him, and then start crying when he started fighting me back, blablabla.

I see now how lucky I am to have a husband who took that sh*t for almost 9months, and she bit his tounge and stayedwink Some don`t react to the hormones at all. Others, like me, get...crazy.
FamilyRe: Questions For The Ladies by JallowBah(f): 4:44am On Nov 25, 2012
Depends what you mean with "the leader of the home".
He is my husband, we stand equal on every choice regarding the household. His voice does not speak louder than me.
But, due to his culture, I never correct him or tell him he is wrong in any way in front of his family and friends. In my culture, that is ok, not in his.
So, out in the streets he is the boss, but inside the house, I have the last sayingwink

If I am doing something "wrong"..earlier, he would keep it in and then blow up out of nothing. Lol. And I did the same.
Now we know better, and tell each other in a nice tone that "I don`t like this and this. How can we fix it?"

Works for us.
FamilyRe: What If Your Child Is Being Bullied by JallowBah(f): 4:40am On Nov 25, 2012
I would first take it up with the teacher, and ask them to take responsibility in the school.
If that did not help, I would probably try to talk to the parents, call in a meeting.

And, I would teach my kids to do their best to stand up for them self. If it don`t stop; kick, scream and bite. Act so crazy that they are too scared to touch you again.

And I agree, it starts with the parents. Teach your kids to have respect and empathy with other living creatures.
FamilyRe: Living Without My Spouse For 6 Months (At Least) by JallowBah(op): 2:51am On Nov 25, 2012
It is just about 03:00 in the night here now, and I can not sleep.
So, I started packing things down, lol.

I was working until late in the evening, my daughter is with my mother in a cabin outside the city, so I am alone with my babybrother, who is out driving some friends.
I might as well do something, so I put on a machine with clothes, and started fixing the suitcase even more. Packing down some small gifts I have for my hubby..some that I bought him just because he is who he is, and some because it is christmas soon. He will get them before christmas, I know, but stillsmiley

He called me this morning and woke me, and if any of you have family in Europe, you know it is expensive to call from Africa. So it made me extra happy, can`t remember the last time I woke up to his voice. Loves. We talked about us coming soon, how to do with the cooking, we joked with each other..the man he is now, is the man I fell in love with. Not the stressed man that he has been the last year. He needed this time down there, and we will soon know how to move forward. He says he have a plan, so we will see if my plan, or his, is betterwink

Now, let me get back to packing, and then fixing my home-made earrings done. I got my outfit ready, I have to fix the handluggage for me and the girl, and then we are actually kinda ready. It feels strange. Good, but strange.
RomanceRe: Would You Tell Your Friend?? by JallowBah(f): 2:31am On Nov 25, 2012
If my closest friends knew my husband was cheating, and did not tell me, and I later found out about both..They would no longer be my friends, he would no longer be my husband.

I would tell my friend, absolutely. But I would also be 100% sure before talking.

I find it a little bit interesting how in Nigeria, men also have braiding styles, while in Gambia, it is common for women.
