I couldn't reply you promptly coz I travelled for my younger brother's wedding...
Yes, d figure is for Sagamu. Sagamu hosts all commercial banks in Nigeria except STANDARD CHARTERS BANK & UNITY BANK. Number of private schools? My brother, with all honesty, I CAN'T ASCERTAIN DT FIGURE coz THERE ARE NUMEROUS GOOD PRIVATE SCHOOLS... #NUMEROUS!!! ...Yes, with buses.
If the figure is for Sagamu, it really speaks volume. I'm going to give Sagamu a good consideration about starting my business. Thanks for taking your time to answer my questions. How much one can rent an Office Space in Sagamu? Thanks for your usual understanding.

Sorry abt dt figure my bro... I meant to peg d population of Ogun State at dt figure while Sagamu as at 2006 Population Census has a total Population figure of about 253,421 people.
Is this figure meant for Sagamu alone or the whole of Sagamu LGA? If the figure is meant for the whole Sagamu LGA, what is the precise figure(population) of Sagamu itself? How many working class people are in Sagamu? Please don't get upset about my questions. Just wanted to get some solid facts so that I will know the way to calculate my two plus two. Also, I want to know the number of private Schools in Sagamu, those with School Buses and those without including number of Banks in Sagamu. I'm sorry for asking too much questions; that's how BusinessMen normally do. I'll be very happy if you can provide answers to my questions. Thanks Bros, may God bless you...

Why can you call Jesus a God? What about God himself, what would you call him? Islam is not a religion that promises killing. Have you read the English Quran before? Which chapter, surah, that says that thou shall kill? No, you can't find such things there.

Good mrng & happy sunday 2U all...
@Jamalee: if I mau ask, wht line of biz r U looking @ & wht line of biz r U into presently?
Thanks bros. Why I asked about the problem of Sagamites is that in business; is neither you solve a problem or you fill a need. That's the secret of doing business in any part of the World. About the population of Sagamu I asked, you said Sagamu LGA can boast of 15-20million population. Is this figure right? Because the whole Ogun State itself is not up to this figure. Please, I need a detailed explanation on this. About the business I'm currently doing; I'm not into any for now but I hope to launch my business latest by January 1st, 2015. I'm into part-time jobs for now. I've series of businesses to start but I'm going to start one first and others will follow in the next few months. I'm presently considering Abeokuta, Lagos, and Ibadan to launch my business and I'm going to add Sagamu into it. Before launching my business, there are some things I wanted to put into consideration. Those things are 1. Population of the City 2. Numbers of Companies in the City and 3. Numbers of Working class people in the City. I know that Lagos will have the upper hand among the Cities mentioned above. But I will not like to launch my business in Lagos due to 1. Every morning hold-ups across the City. 2. Rate of competition is very high 3. Lagos has been bombarded with many businesses similar to mine and these businesses has not be in existence in Abeokuta, Ibadan, and Sagamu. Please, tell me the precise population of Sagamu and I will be very happy if you can do this for me. Thanks.

Is there any Tertiary Institutions in Sagamu? 3. What do you think that can sell very well in Sagamu? 4. What are the problems of Sagamites? I will like to get clear answers to these questions. Thanks.

But why? No one is perfect except Almighty God. Every human being has one or two skills within himself or herself. What Mr. A is good at, Mr. B might not be good at it and vice-versa. Let's leave the toga and do whatever sails our boat. That is not a sin at all. We should do what we love most and don't be jumping from one thing to the other. It is simple as ABC.

BusinessRe: 9 Natural Qualities That Make Igbos Business Minded by jamalee: 4:30pm On Oct 08, 2014
naijacutee:
I disagree with the article, but I disagree with you also. Your statements are ethnically biased, and you need to look within yourself to find out why, rather than hiding under the umbrella of a business opinion to spew ethnic bias. I am Igbo, and I am not of the opinion that we are the best tribe although this is arguable. You are saying that you are the best, and this is actually ridiculous because you cannot account for each an every Yoruba person based on the people you mentioned above. There are wealthy Igbo people also who work hard to earn a honest living.

Here's an example: The richest woman who's name you forget is Mrs Folorunsho Alakija. She studied secretarial studies was later became a fashion designer, founding a company Supreme Stitches. This is a noble venture because she ended up designing fabrics for Maryam Babangida when she was alive, and eventually she got 'dashed' an oil block by Babangida. This is the source of her wealth today. Not hard work, not expertise. Not talent. Pure luck. Anyone could have been in that position, so I don't think you should include these people for your bragging rights.

Crime is a Nigerian problem, not an Igbo problem. Our thinking has to change otherwise our children have NO CHANCE of a better future. If we ignore crime perpetrated by our people and focus on that done by others because we want our people to look good, we have not started. I am Igbo, and am aware that many Nigerian (including Igbos) get involved in criminal activities. This is not right and MUST STOP if we want our children to inherit a better country than what we inherited from our forbears. In the same way, many Nigerian (including Igbos) work hard and are successful and are worth emulating.
Guy, not that I have the intension of saying all these. But it is a common talk within the Igbos that they are the best in Nigeria, condemning other tribes especially Yoruba. Look, I don't like discriminating or criticising. But you will be forced to do so. I've worked with Igbo people in different places and if they find out that there is or there are Yoruba(s) among them, that Yorubas are in hell. These Igbo people will start abusing any Yorubas among them. Why? The will say all sort of things they like. And it is supposed not to be so because we are all one. Guy, don't get upset about my discriminating. I don't know that there is still an Igbn that don't discriminates because every Igbo I've met so far always discriminates Yoruba.
BusinessRe: 9 Natural Qualities That Make Igbos Business Minded by jamalee: 7:58pm On Oct 07, 2014
I too also disagree with this article. I always wondered when people say Igbos know how to do business than any other tribe in Nigeria. They always argue that the Igbo people are the best business men and women in Nigeria. I disagree with this fact. Why? The richest black man in the world now is an Hausa man(Aliko Dangote). His business(Dangote Group) is one of the biggest business empire in the World. The richest woman in Africa now is a Yoruba woman(her name was forgotten). She made her money from oil and gas. She's the owner of Famfa Oil. The second richest man in Nigeria is a Yoruba man(Mike Adenuga). He's the owner of global comm., Con oil and several other businesses. The owner of Guaranty Trust Bank is a Yoruba man(Fola Adeola). The owner of hitv is a Yoruba man(Toyin). The owner of Eleganza is a Yoruba man(Razaq Okoya). The owner of Bellview Airline is a Yoruba man, he's from Ijebu-Ode. Recently, one man bought two International Airports worth 1.58billion pounds each. The man is from Sagamu in Ogun State. Harry Akande, an Ibadan man has over 400 Companies all over the World: is he not good a good business man. Look at the businesses mentioned above, can you see any Igbo man or woman there? No. You can't. Reason. Igbo people always engage themselves in doing fake things e.g fake drugs, fake body wears and foot wears, etc. They are number one Fraudster in Nigeria; they are not straight forward. In all tribes in Nigeria, Yoruba is the best and others follow. Anyone that want to argue with me should start now and I will be replying you as you are arguing with me. Let's start now...

newacca: Little child ke? Wetin you go come call me wey I just enter primary 4 cheesy? Your idea is good, and you will do a lot of work to make the apps go viral for organizations to call for ads amidst competitors.
This is my own contribution : Yes, you can make revenue from advert. You can actually make money from the app service you render. After you have introduced free service, you can add good value to the service and make it premium which will attract fee. Clients/subscribers who like the service will upgrade to the premium and you generate revenue from it.
Thanks for your contribution. Your idea is good and it will work with much hard work.

The business you can start with 50k is around you. You can start a personal shopping business for busy Professionals. You could also start grocery delivery business. You can also start house cleaning/commercial cleaning business. These three businesses are easy to start with 50k except for the commercial cleaning business. You can also start house cleaning business with 50k. I wanted to do something now that won't le me proceed with this post. But if you want more explanation on it, say it here and I am ready to share the info on each of these three businesses on this platform, not sending it to your private e-mail address. Sending it to your private e-mail is not okay like that if I want to view it from my own perspective. Do you want the info? If you want , talk. I want to do something now...

Business idea for today. Today's idea is in the Photograhy Industry. If you have a good digital camera, you can earn from it. I know that you will be thinking of taking photographs at Parties and Events. No. It is also part of money-making opportunities in the Photograhy Industry, though. But the idea I wanted to share with you today is easy and the most rewarding way to earn money in the Photography Industry. The idea is ''stock photograhs''. What does stock photograhs mean? It simply mean uploading fine pictures that look fanimorous or attractive to stock photograph websites. Web Designers, Magazine Publishers, Bloggers, Advertising Agencies, etc normally visit stock photograh websites to download pictures to convey the meaning of what they are writing about to their Readers. Some of the stock photograph websites in www.acestock.com, www.corbis.com, www.dreamstime.com, www.bigstockphoto.com, www.photolibra.com, www.photostockplus.com, www.shutterstock.com, www.istockphoto.com, and many more. Some of these websites pay $0.25 per download of your images. You can pay a visit to these websites and see their info. The more pictures you upload to stock photograph websites, the more money you make. You can take picures of anything, it may be animal, trees, buildings, phones, vehicles, dumping sites, celebrities, foot wears, I mean just anything and upload it to stock photogrgaph websites and you can earn money from those pictures. Even you can earn money that can make you rich from stock photographs. Start today and I will see you at the top.

newacca: Thanks for this idea, but how do I generate revenue and make profit from such venture, when I'm offering free service? Is it from sponsorship or premium services offered from the same business? Abeg I need explanation oo cos I no dey quick grab message grin no mind me.
Lets start by brainstorming about it. What I think is that generating profit from this business can be from adverts from Advertising Agencies and individual Companies or Organizations after the app has gone viral. That's what I think. What do you think? Because I'm a little child when it comes to brainstorming. Share your ideas and thoughts about how to generate profits in this kind of app business. Your ideas and thoughts would be fully appreciated...

Good evening my people. Here's today's idea. Today's idea will base mobile application development. The mobile app industry is booming and Nigeria is not behind. Infact, the mobile app industry worth several billions of dollars anually. 2go, whasapp, mxit, palm chat, etc all worth billions of dollars anually. And these Entrepreneurs that own these mobile app have little or no education. This means that you don't need any qualification to become a mobile app Develop except the knowledge of programming. Even if you don't have this knowledge, you can hire a Professional Programmer to do it for you; it all boils down to money. Come up with a unique idea and tell the Programmer you hired about your idea and give him your sketch of your idea: I mean how the mobile app is going to look like, its functions, how it will operate, etc. Let your Programmer sign a DNA Form with you so that he won't steal your idea. If you are on a good budget, you can hire a Lawyer. The mobile app idea I thought of is free calls and SMS app. You know that Nigerians love to get things for free; no matter how that thing come cheap, they will still like to get it for free. This mobile app will be welcomed by Nigerians since millions of calls and SMS messages are exchanged within the Country everyday. Calls and SMS messages will be made via the internet (the mobile app) at no cost except for internet data, which Telecomm Operators give out for free. The internet data on your sim card will be deducted instead of your money/credit. I am sure that this mobile app will storm Nigerian market in the first few months of its launched. There are series of ideas in the mobile app industry, any time I think of any idea, I will let you know. Good night.

GTrans: Greetings to my fellow nairalanders, please I really need an advice and a help to invest 150k....so that I'll not be doing menial job again. I'm ready to work for myself at all cost so I've saved this little amount in order to start personal biz. Although am a professional pilot(driver) a traveller, though within nigeria, I live in lagos, have not done personal biz before but am ready for it now and am also ready to take challenges that follows with it.
Please gurus with more experience in the biz field should help a brother here as this thread would also serve as guide to many beginners.

Thanks to you all for your contributions yet to be made.
Guy, you can make a living with your N150,000 if you spend wisely. Save N100,000 and use the remaining N50,000 for business. The N100,000 you saved serve as a back-up for you. Good business to start is venture in what people want. Look for their problems and proffer solution to it. In business, it is either you sell a product or service. Service-based businesses are the easiest business to start by new Entrepreneurs. Product-based businesses take time to be launched and consumed more money than the service-based businesses. Think and discover new business ideas and opportunities in your area or vicinity. Do your feasibility study report/research and write a simple business plan. Be honest to yourself and do your work diligently. Then you are in business...

Evening every Nairalanders on this thread. Here's today's idea I've thought of. The idea is starting a mobile mechanic business. Mobile mechanic business is still a virgin business in Nigeria. Vehicles of humans break down from time to time. For instance, a person's car does not work in the morning when he/she was about to go work/Office, he/she can quickly dial the number of a Mobile Mechanic and the Mechanic will come with his tools and fix the problem of the Car. As the name implies ''mobile'' which mean moving from one location to the other, so the Mobile Mechanic is expected to move from one location to the other. This business is easy to start and the working class people will appreciate it since their vehicles won't stay in a Mechanic Workshop. Required equipments to start are the necessary tools that are meant for a Mechanic. Offer descent price for your service because a lot of Competitors will be competing against you. Have a pleasant night.

newacca: Thanks for sharing this. May God continue to increase you in knowledge. What are the challenges one might face doing this business? What is its viability? Considering the fact that dry cleaners are already doing self promotion and marketing.

How sustainable is this business? Let's put on our thinking cap to iron it out. smiley

Once again, thanks for sharing your idea.
Hi bros, this business is sustainble. One should just look for a Dry Cleaner that do not offer home pick-up and delivery service, that's all. Form an alliance with him and you are in business. That aside. Let me share today's idea with you. Business ideas are everywhere in our Country. What about doing a waste disposal business? Just try to make it your business to target one niche. People generate tons of wastes everyday if I want to view it from my own perspective. You can render your waste disposal service business to Hospitals. This way, I will advice you target only Hospitals. We have thousands of standard Hospitals in our Country both Government and Private Hospitals. Dress in a Corporate way buy putting on your Suit; don't dress like Tout. Meet the Managers of these Hospitals and talk to them about service, if you can win them that means you are in business. Give these Managers your business and print fliers to be distributed to Hospitals as a means of advertisment. Tell them that you will be rendering your service to them two to three times in a week or whichever way that best suits you. Dress your Employees with overall that has your brand image or business logo. Offer a competitive price to your Clients because you will be having competition. No business can stand a test of time without competition. Please, am I communicating? You will be surprised at the level of income you will be having within the first three months you start. The main equipment you need is the Truck that you will be using to haul wastes from Hospitals to the dumping site. You can start with a Truck and buy it if you have the financial muscle. If you don't have the financial muscle, you can lease it from Truck Leasing Companies. Other things you need are overall, boots, helments, rubber gloves, business cards, fliers, website, health insurance for your Employees, etc. Make sure to register your business with the necessary Government Agencies. Make sure you get approval and license from them. Hospitals generate wastes almost every second. So, explore this potential opportunity and utilize it. I think I've given meaningful business idea today. Let's hear another idea from another. Happy tomorrow's Sunday to the Christians...

Hi newacca, I've been active on this thread, though. It was due to what I'm currently doing. We have many problems in our Society, it is these problems that create business opportunities for Smart Entrepreneurs. Money-making opportunities are in our Street but only few people will see it; those that will see it are Smart Entrepreneurs that are very picky when it comes to spotting business opportunities. Business involves only two activities; which are selling products and rendering services. It is either you sell a product or render a service. Human beings in this World have problems that need to be solved, it is only God that has no problem. For instance, busy or working class people are busy always and they need to wash their wears, do general home cleaning and that's why dry cleaning and laundry services and house cleaning services come into play. Entrepreneurs have ventured into these services to meet the need of this category of people. Even if you don't have the startup capital or financial muscle of venturing into dry cleaning and laundry services, you can still earn a descent and reasonable amount from it. All you have to do is to pick wears that need to be washed from busy people and take it to a Dry Cleaner in your area that do not offer home pick up and delivery. You will form an alliance with the Dry Cleaner. Tell him to offer you a commission on each wear you brought to him for washing. He will gladly welcome you and form a business partner with you because you will be bringing business to him all the time. But make sure you agree on a reasonable commission that will pay you. After washing, return those wears back to the Owner and you will also gain more after returning and collecting your fee because home pick-up and delivery always attracts additional fee. That additional fee is yours. You can go ahead and build a Company on it and create your brand image or logo about your business, you get it? Print business cards, fliers, and posters. Give your business cards to working class people in your area and your in business. I'll be sharing more ideas and tips on any business worth pursuing. Have a nice weekend ahead.

baba11: Rightly said but government policy and support is also needed
It is also needed, though. But our Government is not ready to render any support. What do we do? What is the way out? What do we do for living? Because that is the main issue on ground. We have many successful Entrepreneurs in Nigeria that have no Government's support. How do these successful Entrepreneurs do it? How do they make way out? How do they solve business problems? Any successful Entrepreneur on Nairaland or on this thread should give us way out.

Does the poster even know anything about Cisco certs @ all? I very much doubt it. By the way, Cisco is an American company. It's not a must to comment on every thread...
You just find out first before you talk. CCNA is also equivalent to degree in U.K. So the 300k is not a lie. Telecomms companies paid that amount 5years back. You can confirm it by yourself.
Christianity EtcRe: Sex BEFORE Marriage Is A Sin. by jamalee: 12:41am On Sep 08, 2014
olycholy: Some people call it 'testing the goods before paying'. Lol.
That goods is suppose to be a surprise package from God, why go before him (God) and run after him for the rest of your life?
Fornication (sexual intercourse, touching/romancing, eProstitution, sharing and sending of indecent pictures, masturbation, using intimacy gadget, etc) is a sin, Christianity is against it so is Islam. And am wondering why do people celebrate sin?

Genesis 2:24
Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.

The above bible passage explains that you must first come together under the marriage union before you are permitted to consummate.

OTHER BIBLE PASSAGES TO BACK WHAT AM SAYING

1 Corinthians 7:1-40 Now concerning the matters about which you wrote: “It is good for a man not to have sexual relations with a woman.” But because of the temptation to sexual immorality, each man should have his own wife and each woman her own husband. The husband should give to his wife her conjugal rights, and likewise the wife to her husband. For the wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does. Likewise the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does. Do not deprive one another, except perhaps by agreement for a limited time, that you may devote yourselves to prayer; but then come together again, so that Satan may not tempt you because of your lack of self-control.

1 Corinthians 7:9 But if they cannot exercise self-control, they should marry. For it is better to marry than to burn with passion.

Hebrews 13:4 Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous.

1 Corinthians 6:18 Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body.

Matthew 5:28 But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

1 Thessalonians 4:3-5 For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you abstain from sexual immorality; that each one of you know how to control his own body in holiness and honor, not in the passion of lust like the Gentiles who do not know God;

1 Corinthians 7:2 But because of the temptation to sexual immorality, each man should have his own wife and each woman her own husband.
So if you know you practice sexual immorality of any type, kind or form repent now and ask God for forgiveness. God bless you as you do so. I love you plenty.
Guy, what if the man is impotent and the wife did not know? Because they are not going to have sex before their day.And the have done wedding on the alter. So another man will be firing the wife and she bring another's man pregnant into her matrimonial home and the husband will gladly accept it because it is an agreement between them and in the future, there will be problem. You kno what I mean? In Islam, nothing wrong with it if I want to view it from my own perspective because we normally use pregnancy to do our own wedding. So, you don't have point there.
