solastar2: 900 applicants for only 20-25 slot. That's about 2.778 chance. That's d definition of competition although I have seen a scholarship where 1300 people applied for only 10 slot and I just deliberately choose not to apply this year. The competition for money is never a joke. All d best to everyone You should have applied now. Especially if you have all the requirements and documents at hand. |

Nice work here Kagari. Sharing your wealth of experience. I intend to travel to Grenoble in France by 2nd/3rd week of August 2018 on a student visa and one way ticket. My program consists of the 1st year in Grenoble and the 2nd year in Germany.
With all I've read in this thread, I guess it would be better to purchase a ticket in the first week of July. How much would it cost for this?? What route would be best and which airline is most appropriate to use?? Thanks in advance. |

richinex: Anytime wey I dey read anything see "ERA" my liver go just cut.... from ERA to ERASMUS!
Meanwhile I wasn't selected for EACH. Still hopeful for others kinda.
I saw the way erasmus evaluates guys on the pakistan facebook page.....its really intensive. I dunno who else saw it. The fact that you aint selected doesnt mean you are not good enough. Dont give up. alot of factors go into this selection - luck is one of them. Keep aiming high and improving! The criteria for selection depends on various factors. So I agree wiith your statement. |

solastar2: Well bro, I don't believe in grace but in excellence. I have 2.1 but I don't see work of grace in all these overseas scholarship. If you put in great application, you will definitely have it. The selection is not based on grade only. The only thing you can tell me grace superceed grade is when you submit shambolic application and get selected which is something that happen in our land (naija) wella. Brother if you submit good application, I wish you well as a matter of fact I would have appreciate if those EU can just grant all Nigerians (with genuine intention) scholarship so as to leave this shithole. But don't rely on grace please do your best to have excellent application submitted. Well all the best as we all await several results. As for me I am still awaiting more than 5 results and I will probably add to it b4 d end of the month or April. All the best bro. Hahaha.... Solastar said shit hole. Awaiting 5 results!!! That's good. I love the way you've spread your tentacles. |

TheGrandChemist: I am actually over the moon right now.
Admission decision for one of the schools I applied to just arrived
School: Brigham Young university, Provo, Utah (Actually one of my top choices. Highly rated than the others I applied to with the best funding as well).
Status: Accepted
Program: PhD, Chemistry and Biochemistry.
Funding: In the affirmative, YES (GA)
However, I am still awaiting decisions from the other schools I applied to:
Louisiana state university, Ohio university, Georgia state university, University of Wyoming, University of Idaho, Oregon State University.
Profile:
Undergraduate course of study: Industrial chemistry
GPA: 3.38/4.00
GRE: 300
TOEFL: 99
No publication or research experience whatsoever. Although, I have about three years work experience.
For those of us still expectant of admission decisions, hold your horses and be positive.
And lest I forget, Mr ponpon thanks for the encouragement. I never imagined I would apply to seven schools if not for your encouragement.
Cheers Congratulobia GrandChemist..... |

Today, 5:30pm...I just sat infront of my system, trying to compose my motivation letter and essays for Commonwealth shared scholarship. My colleague and fellow applicant messaged me on WhatsApp. Colleague: Guy....Check your mail Me: I refreshed, I didn't see anything. My heart started skipping. Kay....wetin be that naa Colleague: Check am again. Na FAME+ Erasmus. Me: My heart skipped again....Oh fccckk, Airtel network was just doing anyhow. I told him I didn't get any mail. At this point, he was scared. He said in his mind, my guy and I have got to study together in this program ( This he told me later sha) Then I saw the mail, FAMe+ Admission. I opened it, with my heart in my mouth. I was just looking for the key word " Erasmus Mundus Scholarship". My sharp eye just detected it...Korokoro.....I was awarded the E+ Scholarship to study in the Functionalised Advanced Materials Engineering+ in at least two countries in Europe. I went down on my knees... Screamed, shouted hallelujah countless time. I almost stripped my self unclad, but my younger sister was at home with me.... Glory be to God....Goodnews on a Tuesday evening. To state that AMASE preselected me to compete for the Erasmus scholarship pending the receipt of my official transcript from Nigeria ( NASU pipu ), and my third option, EM3E-4SW just sent me a mail to prepare for an interview next week. It's all God's doing....2 Nigerians in. I'll have to tag him in this thread.. To y'all still waiting for success mail, may God bring it to fulfilment... |

richinex: Concerning my info concerning MESPOM inviting applicants for interview, here's the response from the CEU admissions office.
Interviews are not an obligatory element of the MESPOM admission process. They are conducted at the direction of reviewers, usually to clarify or supplement information provided in written application. Whether or not you’re invited for an interview is not an indication of the outcome of the selection process. You still on track bro... |

richinex: Sh**...sometimes I wish these guys would just tell us so we can beef up subsequent applications. Sometimes I wonder what they seek. I wish I could just get a revelation on that. Cos its really disheartening when you package a complete application and it gets rejected. not like you failed a test or sth. Some grad schools won't give you specific reasons. If they do, they are calling for lawsuits or challenge from candidates, especially those ones that believe they have all that is required to be admitted. Instead, you receive a generic regret mail. |
