I'm an undergraduate of Economics and Statistics (in my finals), currently on a CGPA of 4.09/5.0, I however estimated my CGPA to be around 4.0 after graduation.

If you are currently on 4.09 CGPA, I will advice that you put in all effort necessary to finish well above it. Graduate schools places more weight on your grade in the last 60 credit courses. In simple terms, aim for 5.0 GPA in your remaining semesters. This may seem impossible, but it is achievable and I know you can do it.

1) In order to boost my chances of getting admitted for a PhD program, I'm thinking of meeting one of my lecturers here as regards working on a research work with him or any of his colleagues. But I sincerely do not know how to approach him , maybe it's because of my inability to build a personal relationship with any of them.

This, perhaps may be the single most important thing you will do to significantly help your graduate school application.
The experience you get will come in handy when you start writing your statement of purpose, and will also serve as your research experience. Also the relationship you build from this will help greatly when you need letter of recommendations.

Like someone has suggested, approach them and discuss your graduate school plans with them, you'd be amazed at how helpful they might be. I for example in my finals, approached one of my lecturer who was completing his Phd and told him about my plans . I was really surprised by how receptive he was. He immediately took me on and started sending me to do little task like printing documents, then asking me to go and source for primary literature for the work and to the point of actually helping to proofread the work itself. In the end I gained not only the experience but also a wonderful relationship which continued even after graduation. So I urge you to do this.

2) Although I'm yet to make any constant decision pertaining to the area of Economics I'll be specializing on, but I'd love the experienced folks in the house to please help me out with some safe institutions where a potential Economics/Statistics Phd student would not only be admitted but also get funded easily.

I personally don't buy into this safe school ish. For Masters maybe, but for Phd NOOOOOOO, Phd is for 5 (FIVE ) freaking years, it is not something you apply for just because you think a school is safe. Please apply to a Phd program because the research going on there is top notch and you'd be happy doing it for 5 to 6 years.

3) Is it possible for a CGPA within the range of 4.0-4.1 to be evaluated to 3.5/4.0 by WES ?

Refer to my first response and you'd have no reason to worry about this.

Some great guys have said a lot on here already but i feel compelled to chime in a little. Just as soberdrunk has stated, just stay calm and confident throughout the process, answer each question thrown at you as intelligent as possible and always try to relate it with how that will be beneficial to them.
Concerning the "can we meet you" question, do your best to prepare ahead for this question as this puts you in charge of the interview. Like someone has earlier pointed out, answer this question excellently and you have already put yourself in a very good position.

From what I have observed here, I think it is individualistic, some peeps here got a call for AC in less than a week after documentation, also someone here is still expecting a call since Dec though not Audit. So you can see it depend on the unit and how urgent they need you.

Finally got a call for Audit AC, wrote the aptitude test in March. Please I need advice on what to prepare for.

Luke, just send the documents as specified, in due time you will get a call for your AC. You will also have to present hard copies of the scanned documents at the AC.

I had predicted all of these except the Trabzonspor game, I was actually leaning towards Mersin to score. Reason is they've scored at least a goal in last 9 home games. Trabzonspor's last 10 games has been 3 loss, 1 win, 6 draw they have also failed to score score in 4 of the games.

Please what made think they'd score? We can all learn from each other.
