What the heck! Has our all peaceful and understanding house suddenly degenerated into a house for exchanging insult and showing off? Never! It can not happen. Please peeps this house has always been understanding one, please read back and you will see where misunderstanding like this usually arise, but coz of the understanding nature of the members the issue will die almost instantly. Why can't we maintain that maturity? I don't want to believe the new folks are causing this mayhem. PLEASE STOP IT NOW OR............. Some of us has been following this thread since its inception since October 2012 till now and it has been source of useful information, encouragement and refreshment for us all. Please lets not end this beautiful thread when Mobilization no. is just seven days away. Please as mature Nigerian Graduates which we are i hereby implore everyone to revert to our normal old Prospective Batch A 2013 Corp House members.

lexy4me: Abeg who dey watch dis naija match nowhuh? Una dey see d kind baboons wei we put for field ba? God pass devil sha......ordinary ethopia na him dey cast us like dis!!!!!a country where nothing works!!!!Lolz
Sharrap there, who told you Ethiopians are ordinary, for your information they played qualifiers and qualified by merit thus they aren't ordinary by any means. And now we have even won, so stop calling the eagles baboon.

yokiti: Our super noodles fried chicken match against the Ethiopians today was regretablly lugubrious and critically obrozonto. Nigeria has to depend on penalties to win. Shioooo!!!
A win is a win whether by penalty or open play. would you rather we loss?

Shout out to the Eagles, onto the next challenge.
NYSCRe: NYSC Batch A 2013 House by jamebex(m): 11:06pm On Jan 26, 2013
yokiti: @ Jamebex,
your choice of state should be based on what you tend to gain at the long run.
.
These points should be considered thoroughly.
1. Cost of living; Lagos is more expensive than OYo.
I've given this a serious thought, but came to a conclusion that even in Oyo, i would make sure i end up in Ibadan whose cost of living is also at par with that of Lagos, thus this option weigh really less for me.

yokiti: 2. Where you will reside.(do you have family in any of these two locations)
Don't have family in both location.

yokiti: 3. Opportunities ( jobs placement or career improvement)
what do i want? Frankly speaking my immediate prospect is to be in a milieu where i can get the necessary preparation for my Grad school abroad this includes where i can easily get all info and access to write the exams during my service year (GRE(Graduate Record Examination) and TOEFL). On job placement; I am a Biochemist so the obvious choice will be Lagos, am trying really hard not to be biased though.

yokiti: 4. There are villages in Oyo just as Lagos have EPE, riverine areas(Ibeshe and its environs; you go on canoe or boat) and "Hinterland" of Badagry; you might be posted there for PPA.
This is a big NO NO for me. Adihi ekwuya ekwu biko.

Hi Peepzz & cutties, Its been a while since i commented here o! Hope you all ve been having great time and the count down. Am really confused now. I've been given an ulitimatum to make a decision btw Oyo and lagos, as i type this now i dont even know what i want. My head screams lagos whereas my heart echoes Oyo. 'sighs' God dey sha.

yokiti: @ Seyixyz and Jamebex, You guys dont have to throw some punches before passing your messages. If you have been following event here, you would have read what Kosebinu and I said earlier concerning the list. Please lets learn how to respect ourselves as no one is an island of knowledge. You dont have you insult let alone, generalized before passing your message. Thanks for your Information though.
Thanks yokiti for your objectivity. No one is throwing punches here dear, just trying to point out an obvious flaw okay!. Specificity was just the issue there, this thread isn't used by LASUITES alone thus it make no sense to assume that anyone who reads that information will know that it was LASU's mobilization list. @ The generalization stuff, sorry! No offense intended.

vivichocs: u cn get to NAFDAC cos it s govt owned but u need some1 4m inside to influence it.in breweries, u cn also wrk in d productn sector cos enzymes r used there.... Lag holds more opportunties shaa..
prayer is d key cos God cn bles u 4m dat state u think dat hs notn to offer...lets hope in God.
wch state do u hv in mind?
Okay dear, am pretty undecided yet, kinda being ambivalent between Lagos and OYO, but i am seriously considering OYO state though, have my eye on one Prof. in UI I want to do some research with.
NYSCRe: NYSC Batch A 2013 House by jamebex(m): 7:25am On Jan 08, 2013
vivichocs: ma pleasure...i'm 4m Anambra, graduated 4m ANSU..Enugu hs Nigerian breweries, NAFDAC, pharmaceutical companies and lots more..
Thanks dear! you are welcome. I know Enugu has all that, but they are limited to me thus getting into such place becomes a herculean task. My idea of ample opportunity is not having a Brewery, 2 Bottling companies, a few Pharmaceutical companies that doesn't seem too auspicious for a Biochemist, and as a Biochemist you are 90% more likely to be in the Quality Control/Assurance which isn't restricted to Biochemists alone. just my thought dear! i could be wrong. On a side note, with almost everybody getting classroom and Govt parastatal these days, what is the likelihood of still getting private Coyz?

Seyixyz: U sure say dis Lasu students kw wetin dem dey do?Abi,dem get dia own nysc?Haba, una fall my hand o..Una no fit differentiate betwin sch & nysc mobilisatn list
Lol @ your comment i also kept on wondering what kind of list that could be. They couldn't even explicitly differentiate which is NYSC list and School list smh.

NYSCRe: NYSC Batch A 2013 House by jamebex(m): 4:55pm On Jan 07, 2013
colonel20: Umm, I think Delta (Asaba), Anambra (Awka), Enugu (Enugu), Rivers (PH) is ok, in reference to ur course. Yet, dis one year should be testing new grounds and not abt securing job. Na teacgin tins oo!! wink
Thanks colonel for your reply. I have also been of the opinion that the one year service in not about securing Job, but one year can go a long way to define the kind of Job you will get thereafter. Thus i have reasoned that it will be better to serve in a state where Job prospects after service year is at least auspicious. btw u be sodja?

Fellow Metabolite, nice to meet you here. Enugu is my state of origin. It is actually a nice and peaceful place to serve but am not sure much opportunities abound in Enugu for BCH GRADS. BTW what is your state of origin and what UNI did you grad from.
NYSCRe: NYSC Batch A 2013 House by jamebex(m): 10:05am On Jan 07, 2013
Wow!!!!!! Its been a while, i can see great peeps signing on every now and then its been great indeed. I seem to have missed out on so much, well maybe i will just have to do some catching up. The trend seem to be on preferential place to serve. To be candid, i have never had a preference but seeing some peeps saying "the best place for my course" has suddenly awaken a great sense of awareness in me. Peeps please which state do you think is the best for a Biochemistry Grad.
CareerRe: Biochemistry Graduates: Lets Meet Here by jamebex(m): 9:33am On Jan 07, 2013
Dazzled: @ Jamebex, u ve got 2 decide wh part of biochemistry u want 2 face either its food biochem, industrial biochem, pharmacology section etc but we al know hw d situation of gettin a job is in dis country, my advice wil b get a job n den build a career on it n also goin 4 masters n joinin a professional body.
Thanks for your insightful response. To be candid, at this stage, i am really not decided on any niche to stay in Biochemistry. I am somewhat objective now and willing to take any course whatsoever provided it will be worthwile in the long run. The problem now is that Biochemistry is at an incipient stage in Nigeria and as such one can not really point out any difned route for a fresh graduate of Biochemistry that why folks like you who have traded this path is needed to put us through. In a nutshell Food Biochemistry, Industrial Biochemistry, Pharmacology, i really dont know what future they hold for one in the long run. Please will you be kind to expatiate? Thanks once again.
