Justice For Hanifa, A Beautiful Sun That Was Forced To Set In Daylight

Even a cold-hearted person would weep at the circumstances surrounding the death of Hanifa Abubakar, a 5-year-old child that was killed in the most heart-wrenching manner by someone who was supposed to protect her. And the new confession from her alleged killer as reported by the Daily Post that the beautiful child was fed with rat poison is enough to seize one's breath.

No child should have to go through such insufferable pain. It is the type of news that provokes uncontrollable tears from the eyes, and everyone must demand justice for the late Hanifa. Her only undoing was that she was sent to school by her parents only to be brutally murdered by her supposed proprietor who planned her kidnapping. A ransom was paid to him based on what the little girl's parents could raise, yet, the villainous man took the life of the innocent girl.

Away from that, every school owner and proprietor of a school is expected to be the custodian of the children in their school, they are supposed to be trusted by the parents that their children are in safe hands, but when those persons become the phenomenal disasters that bring unbearable pains to the parents by terminating the life of their children for committing no offence, they should be made to face the full wrath of the law and that of men altogether.

This is not the type of wound that can be healed by the passage of time, it is not a chest of sadness that can be closed, not in many years to come, this is a loss that is beyond measure, an unspeakable agony, not to the parents of Hanifa Abubakar alone, but to every man whose blood has not been replaced by another fluid made by the devil himself.{Continue Reading...}

Man allegedly breaks wife’s ribs while trying to forcefully circumcise her using pliers

A 54-year-old man has been accused of breaking his 45-year-old wife’s ribs while trying to forcefully circumcise her using pliers.

The incident occurred on Tuesday September 7 in Mombasa, Kenya and it was learnt that the couple have lived together for 26 years.

The woman who disclosed that she broke her ribs while struggling to prevent her husband from circumcising her, said they had a fight shortly after he arrived home around 5 pm and found her outside the house with other neighbours.

Around 8pm, she alleged that the man dragged her inside the house and beat her to an extent that she fainted. The distraught woman said her husband then undressed her and inserted pliers into her private parts to circumcise her, without prior notice.
According to her, this is the second time her husband has tried to circumcise her as he tried doing so in August.

Stray bullet reportedly kills traditional ruler’s daughter in Ebonyi
A stray bullet has reportedly killed the daughter of a traditional ruler in Onicha Igboeze community in Onicha Local Government Area of Ebonyi state.

The deceased said to be the daughter of HRH. Ezeogo Oshimiri Agw? Nwukpa, Oshimiri 1 of Onicha, died after the stray bullet allegedly fired by security operatives hit her at Onuafor Enuagu where she was selling fruits on Wednesday evening, September 8.

Details of the incident are still sketchy but former Ebonyi lawmaker, Hon. Linus Okorie, who shared a photo of the victim alleged that the shots were fired by Ebubeagu operatives who came to the area to arrest a coffin maker over undisclosed allegations.

“This young girl of about 25, a hardworking youth and daughter of HRH Oshimili Agwu Nwukpa, peacefully plying her legitimate trade of selling fruits at Onuafor Enuagu, Onicha Igboeze; was gruesomely gunned down by reckless “security operatives” this evening. She was hit by bullets from the guns of these goons while attending to her customers in her shop.

While some say that the reckless shooters were POLICEMEN from Onicha Command Isu, other eyewitnesses insist that they were EBUBEAGU operatives that came in an UNMARKED WHITE HILUX from Isu to arrest a certain COFFIN MAKER for unclear allegations.

Whichever group is responsible for this crime, it is one attack too many on the peaceful people of Onicha Igboeze; and the atrocity must be fully investigated and prosecuted.

For too long and repeatedly now, the peace of Onicha Igboeze has been continuously disrupted by “state or quasi state” operators without justification. We have continually appealed and cautioned that Onicha Igboeze can be very volatile and that no one or authority should find pleasure in putting fire to the fuel of that undesirable volatility; but what do we get?

In the heat of “Unknown Gun Men” era, an alleged Ebubeagu team shot their way into the same Afor Enuagu harassed villagers, destroyed properties and burnt down a widow’s home without justification.
