With all the so much noise about Gejj this GEJ that I ask what did he do for his people in 6 years he was president . If he is really a hero what exactly did he do for his people in The Niger delta or is willingly accepting defeat now development that qualifies him as a hero of Niger delta?
What was OBJ's achievement in the South West for 11 years (8 yrs as civilian & 3 years as military)?

What are Buhari and all other past Northern presidents and heads of state achievements in Northern Nigeria for more than 40 years they've ruled?

it is a bad situation no doubt but I doubt if anyone would have been able to prevent the current state of the Naira, regardless of who is in power, maybe GEJ would have devalued that money earlier before now since he already started by moving the Naira to N199 from N158 against the Dollar.
You see ur life? The naira was devalued to N199 to a $ under Buhari

This is what we've always insisted. There is no genuineness in the current agitation in the region- just a bunch of selfish scavengers taking advantage of a large mass of gullible Nigerians, using their ethnoreligious bigotry as leverage to promote their selfish and sinister agenda.

iPod, NDA, Egbesu, etc are all cut from the same cloth- had Jonathan not lost, none of them would have arisen.

Make dem continue with their tomfoolery. Na dem sabi.
I agree with the part in bold but adding to that, Had Buhari not won, Boko Haram's sponsors wouldn't have abandoned them.

TheGoodJoe:

Based on you economics, we should devalue our currency to N2,000. So, for every $1 we earn N2,000. For a barrel of Crude, we will make $40 x 2,000 = N80,000.
I'm comparing Obj's earnings to Buhari's earnings, be guided.
PoliticsRe: Amount Budgeted For Nnamdi Azikiwe's Mausoleum/ Library In 2016 Budget by jamesibor: 2:58pm On May 31, 2016
TheGoodJoe:

It is not called excuses but the reason and causes.

Even if you bring OBJ now, he will not perform magic. The wage structure has increased and Petrol consumption has climbed. Crude Oil prices went up during OBJ's reign and we hope it reverses under President Buhari.

OBJ did not deal with the level of Boko Haram crisis, the Biafran uprising or the Militants sabotage. So there is no way you expect OBJ to dance over this.
Wage bill is paid in Naira after converting warned dollars to naira.

When obj came in, $1 was officially N22, meaning that for every $1 he earned, he got N22 which implies that a barrel of oil @ $9 got him 9×22 = N198

When Buhari came in, $1 was officially N165 meaning that for every $1 he earned, he got N165 implying that for every barrel of crude oil @ $40, he got 40×165 = N6,600

So for every N198 OBJ got, Buhari got N6,600.
PoliticsRe: Amount Budgeted For Nnamdi Azikiwe's Mausoleum/ Library In 2016 Budget by jamesibor: 2:23pm On May 31, 2016
TheGoodJoe:
The Monetary policy is not the main reason why things are like this. Remember, the economy was already crashing before President Buhari came into power.

NOI already dipped her hands into the ECA. GEJ already borrowed to pay Salaries.

I am sure it was not President Buhari's policies that cost that and NOI and GEJ played with the so called policies people clamour for but, the economy kept crashing.

With the so called policies people want and GEJ in power, things would still go downward and we would have been in a worse situation.

That is a fact. GEJ was lost and the only way was borrow or collect from ECA or Reserves. When the money finishes, what happens? That is what President Buhari is preventing by being strict with his policies.
OBJ met oil price at $9 per barrel, foreign reserve at $3.5bn, foreign debt @ $32bn and was able to make impact in the first year. Buhari met oil price at $40 per barrel, foreign reserve +ECA at about $32bn and foreign debt of about $8bn.

Stop making excuses for failure.

Agreed Buhari is not a thief and won't steal money, he has failed on the economy but I pray he gets it right in the remaining three years.

TheGoodJoe:

During the election, I said repeatedly that there was a tough storm coming because of the wastage. Not President Buhari. There was total waste of our resources.

That was why we needed President Buhari to win because we might not feel the heat by now, due to reckless dipping of the Government into our reserves and fake economic statistics.

When our reserves deplete, we would have been in a worse situation than what we are now.

Just as some of our Militants think they are hurting President Buhari by bombing pipelines. It is us who suffers. Those bombing, those supporting them and those warning against the bombing.

We should stop wishing the President failure because we need to unite to solve our problems. Division only brings war, death and losses.

#UnitedWeStand
Is it the wastage that created the archaic monetary policies which created uncertainties forcing Foreign investors to pull out their investments in droves causing massive depletion of our forex capacity?

Is what is happening today any different from what happened in 1984/85?

That is like saying if the price of tomatoes rise in Nigeria, it is only those who voted for President Buhari who will buy tomatoes at exorbitant prices.

If our economy does not improve under President Buhari, it is not only those who voted President Buhari who will find things difficult.

We can win if we fight together.
Well, I agree we will suffer together but I couldn't have been said to have failed as I knew the man b4 now and knew what the economy would be like under him. Am I surprised at the outcome so far? NO.

Instead of them to come together and ask their governors and elites what they are doing with the several billions of monthly allocations, including the special 13% derivativion for oil producing states, they continued to cause troubles! Has government not done more than enough for them?! It baffles me why poverty is still prevalent in that south south! The allocations are more than enough for their states to operate full monthly benefits payments for their small populations as being done in developed countries today like UK!
Your decision to blow your harvest doesn't give the rest of the village the right to seize your farm.

The misuse of 13% oil revenue by ND political & traditional rulers is a valid issue the ND must address, but does NOT justify theft of 87%.

To use the rape of the Niger Delta by its powerful sons to justify its rape by other Nigerians is cruel to the powerless indigenes.

Greedy politicians & comnuniy leaders are a NIGERIAN problem. To pretend it's unique to ND, or that FGN is a better steward, is DISINGENUOUS

She said: “So what we are now doing is project first. Tell us what you are going to do with the money, give us your milestones. I can’t promise you that every single agency will receive every single Naira in the budget, that will be untrue and that will be a misleading impression.

“However, what I will assure is that there will be no favouritism, there will be no need for anybody to come and lobby in our office for the release of funds. Funds will be released first on priority of projects, MDAs must make request for the capital and we must measure how the capital is spent.”

That does not mean there would not be improvement and development in the South East and South South regions.

She was talking in respect of accountability. This government has targets and goals. If we can put aside our differences, we will take giant strides despite the economic challenges.

PoliticsPIPELINE VANDALISM: Group Asks Buhari To Cut-off Food Supply To Niger Delta Stat by jamesibor(op): 3:48pm On May 30, 2016
The Muhammadu Buhari Legacy Foundation has called on northerners to cut off food supply to the South-South for 30 days until the Niger Delta Avengers militant group stops its attacks on petroleum pipelines in the South-South Region.

As LeadersNG learnt, the Foundation’s Coordinator, Sani Bello Maikusa, said they have ordered Northerners doing business in South-South region to stop supplying agricultural produce, cows, donkeys, dogs, to that part of the country.

Speaking on Sunday in Kaduna during a lecture organised by the Foundation to celebrate President Muhammadu Buhari’s one year in office, Bello Maikusa lamented that the continued attack on petroleum pipelines in that region has made the country to lose 25 percent of its crude oil.

He said: “President Buhari’s efforts to improve power supply to above 5000 mgw has dropped to less than 150 mgw as a result of pipeline sabotage and Avengers.

“Gas cannot be pumped for electricity and crude oil cannot be pushed to refineries in Warri and Kaduna. We are therefore calling for a total boycott of the South-South region for a period of 30 days from July 1st to July 30 2016.

“All businessmen, goods services, agricultural suppliers, suppliers of cows, donkeys, dogs, from the 5 regions of the country should boycott south-south region in protest to the sabotage and pipe line vandalism going there.

“The 30 days boycott will show to the avengers that no region in the country can stands on its own or hold this country to ransom.”

The group also added that the activities of the Avengers are simply aimed to take revenge on President Buhari’s government for the failures of PDP and Goodluck Jonathan’s government.

The Chairman of the occasion, former Assistant Inspector General of Police Lawal Bawa, urged Nigerians to be patient with the Buhari’s administration s its set to take the country to greater heights.
