Let other states, SE/North in particular, fix their own states socially and economically, then we won't be discussing this topic.
Is the SW better than the SE economically? This us the kind of ignorance some of you exhibit when you refuse to leave your cocoon to see what other regions look like.

The Harvard of Nigeria being ABU didn't bother making the list while OAU being the Stanford was no where on the list too.

The Evangelical Church Winning All, ECWA, has alleged that higher institutions in the Northern part of the country, have been denying Christians admissions into professional courses.
The church also alleged that Christians have also been denied employment on account of their religion.
ECWA further expressed concern over the activities of Fulani herdsmen in the country with a call on the Federal Government to explain why no conviction had been secured against perpetrators.
These claims were part of the 10-point observations made by ECWA and contained in a communiqué signed by its President, Dr. Jeremiah Gado, and the General Secretary, Rev. Yunusa Nmadu, after its five-day Pastors International Conference, held at Bingham University, in New Karu, Nasarawa State on Sunday.
ECWA stated, “We have noticed with great dismay the negative happenings in our country, especially the northern part of this country. It is the issue of admission into universities and other tertiary institutions, whereby qualified candidates are refused entry on the basis of their faith especially into professional courses.
“This does not augur well for national unity nor does it promote the tenet of equity and fairness. Many Christians have complained and we see this happening in many universities and other tertiary institutions of the North. We challenge the federal and state-owned institutions to publicly publish the list of those offered admission.

“Closely related to this is the issue of employment, where again, many qualified persons are denied employment on the basis of their faith. As a denomination, we condemn these practices and call on the Federal Government to check these happenings as they constitute a grave threat to the unity of our dear country.
ECWA also threw its weight behind the calls for the restructuring of the country, describing the development as a “noble one.
“The recent call for the restructuring of our nation ‘Nigeria’ is a noble one. As an indigenous church, we are aware of the injustices that have created dissatisfaction among the Nigerian people. We believe that the only way to maintain our corporate identity, as one indivisible nation, is to restructure and promote equity and the enforcement of the rule of law.
“This restructuring might not necessarily be done in the way that people are suggesting; but we need a restructuring that is based on the foundation of equity and honesty where everyone is treated equally. We need to return to the ideals of our founding fathers so as to keep the nation moving.”
While also raising the alarm over the abduction and giving out of underage Christian girls into marriage by force to people “most times old enough to be their fathers,” ECWA called on the Federal Government to check the trend which it best described as “evil practice.”
It added, “The Fulani herdsmen emerged from nowhere and continue to unleash mayhem on innocent citizens in the central and other parts of this country. The silence of government in this regard leaves so much to be desired. It seems approval has been given by the government. If not, why has there not been any conviction in a court of law?

Harbdulrasaq: The Lagos State Government on Saturday announced a total ban on the operations of cart pushers and wheel barrow operators in the State, saying that their activities were inimical to the environmental cleanliness in the State.
The State Government said that with the flag off of the Cleaner Lagos Initiative (CLI), the continuous activities of cart pushers will pose a threat to the success of the initiative.
According to the state govt, investigations had also revealed that the cart pushers are responsible for most of the illegal dumping of waste in canals and road medians at night which causes flooding, adding that they were also traces of security threats.
The State Government has finalised plans to ensure that the CLI would cover every area of the State and ensure that refuse are well packed and collected, urging residents to desist from patronising them or risk prosecution.
Fulani Herdsmen are nigerians and are northerners. Benue is north. Benue should give peace a chance and stop beating the drum of war! How can you not alow Fulani cows graze in peace in a one indivisible nigeria and one indivisible north? Now you are talking about arming yourselves....this war you people of Benue is asking for won't be good when it finally starts.
Benue should channel their grievances through their senators, house of reps and government officials. Arming themselves against Herdsmen is not in the constitution of nigeria. They can form a new political party and send those who share their ideology of arming themselves and removing themselves from "one indivisible north" to represent them.
They should look at how Catalonians and Spain and politicians and office holders are speaking for them. Instead of spreading hate speech and trying to divide nigeria and the north, they should use their popularity and form a political party that will vote their people as president and reps and people to control the entire north/north-central and the armed forces.
Benue should stop this hate speaches against Fulani, they should know by now that nigeria's unity and northern unity is non negotiable! And the cow meat from Fulani is very important, more important than human lives according to my friend Akatu Simon who is from Benue.
Talking about arming yourselves to fight Fulani Herdsmen is beating the drum of war! A word is enough for the......
Mirand606: This is IGR, Niger Delta also has its own IGR to keep for itself... In 2016 Lagos VAT was 40 billion/month yet FG which refused to give us a statutory share of it in Special Status collects it all... Lastly, Lagos houses too many(millions) migrants from other states that it should be them(the other states) paying us for all the services we are rendering to their indigenes.
Really? Is it not tax from those non indigenes that is pushing ipbthe IGR? Meaning that those non indigenes are the ones propping up Lagos.

Giving a report of activities of his administration in the last quarter, Ambode said the state government commissioned the first state-owned DNA Forensic Centre.
He said that in the coming weeks, he would sign a contract to upgrade the facility to offer toxicology services.
“In fulfilment of our promise to our students in tertiary institutions across the state, this administration disbursed a total sum of N635.5million to 8,419 students across the state.
“Our government acquired healthcare equipment worth N2.5 billion.
“The equipment will strengthen the capacity of our health facilities to render improved health services and also facilitate smooth take-off of the Lagos State Health Scheme, which is designed to enable residents enjoy unfettered access to qualitative healthcare,’’ he said.
Giving an outlook on 2018, Ambode promised that he would sustain the momentum of development and vigorously pursue all ongoing projects, with special focus on health and education.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that in the 2018 Appropriation Bill of N1.046 trillion awaiting approval of the House of Assembly, the state government has earmarked N92.676 billion for health, representing 8.86 per cent.
The state also earmarked N126.302 billion for education, representing 12.07 per cent of the budget.
Ambode assured the residents that the state government, in the coming weeks, would pay compensation to all those whose structures gave way for construction of the 1.4 kilometre Pen Cinema Flyover/Bridge.
He said the government would also pay compensation to those affected in Igbogbo, Ikorodu, Owutu and other areas where construction activities were ongoing.
The governor, who entertained questions from residents, ordered the Public Works Corporation to immediately move in to fix bad roads in Computer Village, Abesan Estate, Oriade, Abule-Egba, among other areas.
Ambode also revealed that the Market Development Board would be inaugurated in coming weeks.
He expressed optimism that when functional, the board would address issues of market relocation for developmental projects, just as he said that the Onikan Stadium would be ready in January 2019.
Ambode urged all taxpayers to be alive to their responsibility of fulfilling their obligations to the state, saying regular payment of taxes remains the major source of funding infrastructures.
He assured the people that the government, on its part, would judiciously utilise the taxes to make life comfortable for the people.
sarrki: The Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong, on Thursday said he warned his Benue State counterpart, Samuel Ortom, against implementing the state anti-grazing law recently passed into law.
Lalong said this in an interview with State House correspondents shortly after meeting President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
He said his position was that it was wrong to start implementing the law without proper alternatives. The governor said Plateau was enjoying peace at the moment because his government brought everyone, including farmers and herdsmen, together
Kanu, Eguavoen, Siasia, Akanni To Play Fund-Raising Match For Distressed Oruma
Peter Oriaku 1 min ago By Johnny Edward: Former Super Eagles captains, Augustine Eguavoen, Samson Siasia and Nwankwo Kanu, have all agreed to take part in a football game to raise funds in a bid to aid the recovery of their former teammate Wilson Oruma who is still in mental distress after losing most of his money to swindlers six years ago, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
The game has been proposed to hold in Lagos in February, former Super Eagles midfielder and ex-Chairman of Lagos State Football Association Waidi Akanni revealed told CSN.
Oruma, 41, who played for Lens, Marseille and Lens in France as well as other European clubs, was allegedly defrauded by a clergy man and some fake oil businessmen to the tune of N1.2 billion in December 2012 and his ex-teammates have agreed to play a novelty game to raise funds for the former Nigeria U-17 captain.
They also intend to use the medium to share their experiences to the current players on how well to manage their finances and life after retiring from football in a career talk programme during the event.
Former Chairman of Lagos State Football Association, Waidi Akanni, who is also a former Nigeria international told Completesportsnigeria.com that a delegation will be sent to meet with Oruma’s family to know how they can help him fully recover.
“Since the news broke that he (Oruma) had a relapse of an emotional disorder, his former teammates having been trying to reach out to people around him to show love to him,” Akanni told CSN on Thursday.
“Taribo, Kanu and some of the Atlanta 96 set are keen to turn out for their former teammate.
“They have all agreed to reach out to his family to see how they can help him out and also use the opportunity to educate the current players on how to plan their future after retirement.
“I’m sure other players who will be contacted later will be willing to take part just as the Lagos State government and the Delta State government, where Oruma hails from.”
meethumb: Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu, the former Abia State governor has said that Fulani herders are not responsible for the recent killings in parts of the country.
According to him, prominent Nigerians who are against the anti-corruption war of the Federal Government are the major sponsors of the alleged killer herdsmen.
Kalu who stated this while sympathizing with the victims and families of those who were killed in Taraba and Benue States, said perpetrators were mostly returnees from Niger Republic who infiltrated the people and pretended to be Fulani herders.
He said these killer herders were mostly sponsored by politicians who were aggrieved because the President blocked the various channels by which the country’s resources were being siphoned.
Kalu said when he was the governor of Abia State, he was never in good terms with some rich individuals who were busy milking the state.
He added there was trouble around the country now because President Muhammadu Buhari had ended the old ways of handling the nation’s resources.
Kalu spoke in his country home, Igbere, during the launch of free interest loan to Abians in Abia North Senatorial District.
Commercial banks operating in the country have been accused of deliberately flooding the market with dirty Naira notes, which have become an eyesore to citizens.
This is mainly seen in the N100 notes.
At several Automated Teller Machines (ATM) spread across the country, customers are given mutilated notes, a thing that has become a source of worry to many.
Acting Director of Corporate Communications at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mr Isaac Okoroafor, while commenting on the issue, also accused the banks of hoarding new notes.
He said commercial banks in the country receive enough new notes and wondered why they are not being circulated.
The CBN spokesman absolved the apex bank from the debacle, pushing it to the commercial banks. He said the banks were supposed to employ people to do the sorting for them, but they refused in order to avoid the cost of employing personnel for this.
“Instead of bringing them to us sorted, the banks bring them unsorted. Then we started charging them N12,000 per box. A box of N1000 notes contains N10 million worth. So, a box of N500 notes is N5 million in that order. So, in a bid to avoid cost, they preferred to re-circulate old and mutilated notes,” Mr Okoroafor said.
On why so many mutilated Naira notes are still in circulation, CBN image maker claimed that people handle these notes badly, making them unable to get to their lifespan anymore.
He said for the lower denomination notes, they have a higher velocity of circulation.
“What that means is that you use it more often and as you use it in exchange, it gets worn out and gets torn more frequently. So, that also creates another problem.”
