eclectic90: Davido and his household that got tested, did they have any symptoms? Except they got tested in a private lab which we are not aware of, then you too are also unserious. As if you don't know the kind of Nigeria you are in again. Kevin Durant a rich and famous Basketball player got tested in America meanwhile nurses taking care of COVID-19 positive patients can't get the test unless they are displaying symptoms. Also, how do you know Davido in particular got tested? Have any proof? How do you know Chioma had no symptoms? Don't be too quick in thinking the world is out to get you. |

chinene1: Calling the person unserious because he decided to seek out testing and be proactive in protecting himself and those around him is shocking. Its simple for you to list what you think he should do but you've not been exposed or had to live with that fear. I see nothing wrong in what he has done and I appreciate his effort at unmasking just how f**ked up the whole system it. At the end, to each his own. P.S, you don't really know what goes on when one is admitted. If it was that easy, most of the earlier cases would have been discharged by now. There is nothing proactive in an asymptomatic person seeking testing right now when testing kits are limited. Quite honestly it reeks of selfishness and self asorbtion. |

lovegeneration: Please with all due respect i think u need follow the trend of the virus before condeming the fellow that went for the test, because by all standard ur must know ur status before isolation which he actually deed. quote author=JamParkMe post=87904332]That person seeking a test right now is an unserious fellow. They are only testing those with symptoms such as fever, cough and body aches who may have been exposed to an infected person. There are very limited number of testing kits to go around, so yes of course screening is selective. Even in America and Europe, they are only testing people with symptoms, so why did your friend think he can just get tested like that? Yeah sure, once you and your friends can manufacture 200 million testing kits that the whole world is vying their hands for. Once you make that much testing kits, I would love to get tested. |

Geofavor: Didn't you hear that most cases are asymptomatic and they spread it the most? And what difference will a positive test do for an individual who's asymptomatic? Will it stop the spread to those they have already come in contact with? Didn't the government ask everyone to remain indoors for this same reason, to maybe flatten the curve? Tell me how testing an asymptomatic person right now with limited supplies will improve the situation. |
Health › Re: Trying To Get Tested For Coronavirus By NCDC In Abuja: An Experience by JamParkMe: 11:01pm On Mar 29, 2020 |
chinene1: I guess you've not heard of cases where the person does not show any symptoms or very mild symptoms but is infected and can infect others. It is not true that other countries are testing only those showing symptoms. Some countries quarantine you right from the airport and test you. Most young people are carriers. So what would testing do in his case? How will it prevent him from spreading it? If you have no symptoms, no test for you, there's just not enough test in the world to test healthy unexposed people. Now if you have symptoms and test positive, they can give you some vitamin C and chloroquine, monitor you a bit and discharge you home to self isolate. |

So he should wait until he start coughing blood before he get tested? If he starts coughing up blood, he should get checked up for bronchitis or TB and not COVID-19. You only get tested for COVID-19 if you have the following symptoms: fever, cough and body aches. |

darealez: Did you know Chioma Davido tested positive without symptoms? Asymptomatic patients are transmitters too... Nigera be careful, na express you dey go!!! Sure I believe the rich & powerful will somehow get their hands on the test. Unfair as it may seem, that's how the cookie crumbles. One of my favourite basketball players in the U.S Kevin Durant got tested without symptoms in the early phase of the spread. But let me ask you, how do you know Chioma had no symptoms? Remember now she and her infant just returned home from the U.S, it's likely she may have been displaying symptoms to demand a test. Never speculate. |

Geofavor: So, until everyone starts showing the symptoms (and have possibly gotten the virus) before they start testing us? Absolutely. Restrict testing to only those displaying symptoms while supply is limited and then once there are enough testing kits, ramp up testing. Right now, the whole world is fighting and vying to get their hands on the same limted supplies of testing kits, ventilators, N95 masks, gowns, etc. Think about that, there isn't an unlimited supply of this stuff neither is there a magic wand one can wave to make it available to all. |

Caleb17: Just imagine a hell of an excuse. Our carelessness will soon exposure us. Why are there not enough testing kits upon all the donations. Our case may be worst than that of Italy and spain if God doesn't intervene. You are a clown. So they should use up the limited number of donated testing kits to test healthy individuals at this early phase of the curve? When we reach the apex and have no kits to test those displaying symptoms, what will happen then? In fact by your logic, we should gather all 200 million citizens and start testing them. |

But if he had indicated that he came back from the states and probably a Northerner, dem go wear protective gear go him house go test am ryt? So only d rich deserves to be tested ryt Read my comment and then read it again slowly because your response shows you read but did not comprehend. Anyone returning from a hotspot like U.S, China or Europe should be quarantined, not tested. You only test those manifesting symptoms; it's not about rich or poor. |

domDva: I'm sorry but your comparism is somewhat funny, USA has over 100k cases and may be only 60k ventilators and protective gears available . Now if.Nigeria has 100k outbreak how many protective gears and ventilators do you have? The whole country does not have more than 100 pieces functional vents.
Thats the angle you should look at it from..I never argued with u that they are not having challenges. Like I.said ...the better chance u have is let it not get bad here .period. If it does, the only chance you have is God. It won't get to the level of italy or America because the weather has an effect on the virus. Corona is the virus that causes the common cold, the common cold happens mostly during cold weather. There's also a reason why most of the cases in the U.S are concentrated in the cold northern states like New York and New Jersey and not Texas; weather plays a role. They should've stayed in Nigeria, I would like to get an update on their wellbeing 1 month from now. |

domDva: Forget that weather theory and pray our situation never gets to US, Italy or Spain level, if these countries are struggling and facing challenges just know that Nigeria will face 1000% worse if our situation gets worst.
Secondly, these countries do thousands of test daily, try to contact NCDC if you are not a returnee from Europe and see the response. So forget the reported numbers.
It is better to fall sick in Israel than here....I know what I am saying I have seen and experienced medical response of Nigeria and Europe. (I know Israel is not Europe but their response to medicare is far far better than Nigeria). Oga let me hear word. Thanks to the internet, I don't need to travel overseas to know what's going on over there. You say they offer a better medical care in Europe abi? If you have friends on social media who are healthcare workers overseas especially in America right now, you will see their posts about the limited number of protective personal equipments. Just the other day, someone sent me a news article about nurses using garbage bags as protective gowns in New York simply because their hospital has a shortage. Like I said, the Israelites would've fared better right here in naija.

Johnsinia: Who are a fool? is it coincidental that all super powers are evacuating there citizen from Nigeria despite the level of pandemic in their country. There is something they have seen that is about to hit Nigeria that we as Nation have not even dream of seeing Nope, its simply because they think they are superior to Nigerians. They think their doctors and medicine can save them but we have seen otherwise. This virus is humbling the entire planet; no one gets preferential treatment because of the color of their skin or the size of their GDP. |
Health › Re: Two Nigerian Soldiers Test Positive For Coronavirus In Borno by JamParkMe: 10:07pm On Mar 29, 2020 |
Boko boys will soon have free reign over the entire northern Nigeria. I think it's time we gather all those who tested positive for COVID-19, euthanize them with a lethal IV dose of potassium chloride, cremate their bodies and bury their ashes 100km beneath the ground in a remote jungle. How do you think China was able to defeat this virus? Have you forgotten how they said a hotel housing corona virus patients mysteriously collapsed?
Difficult times call for difficult measures. |

domDva: No. Israel can treat and take care of their people no matter the size of the pandemic. .once the situation explodes here . patients are at the mercy of God. Just like America, World's number 1 superpower is taking care of her people abi? This infection respects no one. Despite all the top class medical schools, doctors, scientists, researchers and pharmaceutical companies in America, the rate of new infections is exponential. Over 1000 already dead. They should remain in Nigeria, the weather limits the spread and virulence nature of the virus. |

Talk about jumping from frying pan to fire. As it stands right now, Israel has recorded 19 deaths and over 3,000 COVID-19 infections. These people stand a better chance at surviving in Nigeria than in Israel. |
