Kevin Durant a rich and famous Basketball player got tested in America meanwhile nurses taking care of COVID-19 positive patients can't get the test unless they are displaying symptoms. Also, how do you know Davido in particular got tested? Have any proof? How do you know Chioma had no symptoms? Don't be too quick in thinking the world is out to get you.

Calling the person unserious because he decided to seek out testing and be proactive in protecting himself and those around him is shocking. Its simple for you to list what you think he should do but you've not been exposed or had to live with that fear. There is nothing proactive in an asymptomatic person seeking testing right now when testing kits are limited. Quite honestly it reeks of selfishness and self asorbtion.

And what difference will a positive test do for an individual who's asymptomatic? Will it stop the spread to those they have already come in contact with? Didn't the government ask everyone to remain indoors for this same reason, to maybe flatten the curve? Tell me how testing an asymptomatic person right now with limited supplies will improve the situation.

I guess you've not heard of cases where the person does not show any symptoms or very mild symptoms but is infected and can infect others. It is not true that other countries are testing only those showing symptoms. Some countries quarantine you right from the airport and test you.

Most young people are carriers. So what would testing do in his case? How will it prevent him from spreading it? If you have no symptoms, no test for you, there's just not enough test in the world to test healthy unexposed people. Now if you have symptoms and test positive, they can give you some vitamin C and chloroquine, monitor you a bit and discharge you home to self isolate.

If he starts coughing up blood, he should get checked up for bronchitis or TB and not COVID-19. You only get tested for COVID-19 if you have the following symptoms: fever, cough and body aches.

Sure I believe the rich & powerful will somehow get their hands on the test. Unfair as it may seem, that's how the cookie crumbles. One of my favourite basketball players in the U.S Kevin Durant got tested without symptoms in the early phase of the spread. But let me ask you, how do you know Chioma had no symptoms? Remember now she and her infant just returned home from the U.S, it's likely she may have been displaying symptoms to demand a test. Never speculate.

Absolutely. Restrict testing to only those displaying symptoms while supply is limited and then once there are enough testing kits, ramp up testing. Right now, the whole world is fighting and vying to get their hands on the same limted supplies of testing kits, ventilators, N95 masks, gowns, etc. Think about that, there isn't an unlimited supply of this stuff neither is there a magic wand one can wave to make it available to all.

Read my comment and then read it again slowly because your response shows you read but did not comprehend. Anyone returning from a hotspot like U.S, China or Europe should be quarantined, not tested. You only test those manifesting symptoms; it's not about rich or poor.

It won't get to the level of italy or America because the weather has an effect on the virus. Corona is the virus that causes the common cold, the common cold happens mostly during cold weather. There's also a reason why most of the cases in the U.S are concentrated in the cold northern states like New York and New Jersey and not Texas; weather plays a role. They should've stayed in Nigeria, I would like to get an update on their wellbeing 1 month from now.

Forget that weather theory and pray our situation never gets to US, Italy or Spain level, if these countries are struggling and facing challenges just know that Nigeria will face 1000% worse if our situation gets worst.

Secondly, these countries do thousands of test daily, try to contact NCDC if you are not a returnee from Europe and see the response. So forget the reported numbers.

It is better to fall sick in Israel than here....I know what I am saying I have seen and experienced medical response of Nigeria and Europe. (I know Israel is not Europe but their response to medicare is far far better than Nigeria).

Oga let me hear word. Thanks to the internet, I don't need to travel overseas to know what's going on over there. You say they offer a better medical care in Europe abi? If you have friends on social media who are healthcare workers overseas especially in America right now, you will see their posts about the limited number of protective personal equipments. Just the other day, someone sent me a news article about nurses using garbage bags as protective gowns in New York simply because their hospital has a shortage.

Like I said, the Israelites would've fared better right here in naija.

They should remain in Nigeria, the weather limits the spread and virulence nature of the virus.

Talk about jumping from frying pan to fire. As it stands right now, Israel has recorded 19 deaths and over 3,000 COVID-19 infections. These people stand a better chance at surviving in Nigeria than in Israel.
