God is not responsible for people's actions... People do dangerous thing's and bare the consequences
Her comment implied god took their lives, so I only responded to that.

Oh, interesting smiley.

I ain't replying any nonsensical homo sapiens erectus of an atheist... Stay clear
Your god must be vile and wicked to have taken the life of a 9 year old.

Aunty wey mumu undecided.

The only confused and unstable thing here is your post. Other atheists are discussing and looking for answers while you can keep projecting your fears on us.
Don't mind him. He literally described himself in that post grin.

A progressive Christian would.be cool as well. I just want something different this time. It was magical for me with the swedish atheist babe I mentioned in the op
Yea from my experience, most white people are atheist. I understand how you must have felt.

Hmmm, I guess it's easier for you especially with your Dad not minding... But what about your Mom? Doesn't she pray for her daughter from time to time to receive "Christ" like most Nigerian Moms do. Lolz.
You can't really change that you know grin grin.

I don't mind as long as she doesn't try to preach to me.

Hmm,

So do you still go to church?
Like don't your parents force you to, since it seems like you still stay with them... I might be wrong though.
Ps: My parents know I'm an atheist so it's not something I try to hide from them.

Parents force me kee? Lool grin grin

My dad doesn't care about religion, has never cared.

My mum is religious too but then she can't force me to go to church. I mean my younger brother isn't forced to go to church either cheesy.

Well, I drew conclusion based on the fact that most married Nigerian women tend to be prayerful as a way of managing their marital problems.

And you're a Nigerian lady, so if not that you've "ran away", you would most likely be like them... But like you said, I don't know you, so might have been an exception.
Most married Nigerian women here are still very religious though. Even those popular Nigerian churches in Nigeria can be found here in major cities.

Even in the small city where my parents live, there's this Nigerian pastor that runs his own church there too grin.

in so many ways. The upbringing of the kids, choice of school, how they spend their time, etc.

The difference will definitely spring up. Not to talk of dealing with difficult, religious in-laws.

Please, that's one hell of a life of misery.
I understand especially about upbringing.

Really?

Maybe so. But believe the difference in religious orientation will spring up from time to time. It's inescapable.
In what ways will it spring up?
RomanceRe: Any Hope For Atheist Dating In Nigeria? by janettee(f): 7:01pm On Dec 28, 2019
whitelotus:
Agreed.

There are good and bad people in every belief.

There are other things I want in a partner besides atheism. Intelligence- knows international politics. Loves travelling. Ready to try new things etc
So with that mindset, you could look into progressive Christians instead in terms of dating?.

The environment you are in makes it hard for you to easily find an atheist who is female.

Those ones are difficult to find, just like atheists are somewhat difficult to find in Nigeria. undecided
So that means you are open to dating a progressive Christain?. I know it's hard to find.

You are right sha.

I guess the stigma or "hate" is most likely more for girls than guys like us...

Naija sha.
Maybe it's normal for men to be irreligious in Nigeria. Go to prayer houses, it's mostly filled with women.

Also, women are the 'prayer warriors ' in most families grin.

Since this is gradually turning into a rant thread. I want to rant about those, who always feel the need to preach to me.

I went to afroshop the other day, started talking to a guy who then asked me: 'Are you going to church tomorrow?'

I told him I was an atheist. This idiot accused me of worshipping the devil, said I was adapting a western belief and started quoting the bible up and down.

How am I adapting a western belief? HOOOOW?! When Christianity itself is not African!!!!
"Shebi you went to Germany and became an atheist".

grin

I am tired of dating Christians. I want something different.

I want a babe who wouldn't mind a court wedding. I want a babe who can discuss with me on an intellectual level.

Imagine being oppressed with religion at work only to find that your partner is planning tor you to go to a vigil. You actually dont have a partner tha can comfort you in this overreligious country.

If your babe has ever tithed her full first month salary and became a dull time financially dependent baby on your account, you would think twice.
That's hard o. But you know being an atheist is literally normal. It doesn't mean that person will tick all the boxes for you. She could be an atheist and still be dependent on you.

Lolz, this is the reason why it's difficult to find irreligious single ladies in Naija.

Pray tell, why wouldn't you have been outspoken if you were in Naija?
When I revealed I'm an atheist to my cousin, she took it personal and was angry about some statements I made. That's just one instance.

So I imagine I wouldn't have been outspoken.

Also in Nigeria, people will literally hate you if you don't agree with the norm.

Outspoken? No!

Eyah,
the purpose of this thread is almost defeated.

Lol.

Long distance relationships ain't fun, although there are ways one could work around it.
Apart from fierry, my other Nigerian female friends are Christians.

They are just 2 anyway.

Most Nigerians here are still religious sha. It's hard to meet atheists or agnostics who are Nigerians.

That'd be a long ass distance relationship. I'm sorry, I can't really help in that regards. Janettee is the only Nigerian female friend I have, but even she is in Germany and isn't single

This thread is indeed very powerful.
I will likely take a semester break next semester and focus on learning Deutsch to B1 level within 6 months from A1 level I am now.
I need the language like crazy now.
I have already seen the school and it will cost me 500 Euros.
Then in addition, I will like to learn Python programming (data analysis which is needed in my field later) but I don't really know how to start since I don't have any damn programming skills apart from the C++ boring course we did in my BSc level where the lecturer was writing codes on the board grin
Hello, this seems like a great idea cool. If I were you, I would focus solely on the German course during that 6 months. If you are going to work, let it be part-time. It's easy to get distracted during semester break.

There are many resources to learn programming online. I can't advice you on which one to use.

Hello Geez,
please I'll be applying for undergraduate computer science program in some federal German varsities..
Id like to know the language level requirements,A1,A2 and so on.. and if they differ with different universities.
Again, I'll still love to know if I can still meet up with the application processes by mid 2020 if I begin my GOETH classes soon enough..

Thanks in advance
Even with C1, you will still face some difficulties in the course. Having C1 only proves you passed the exam, it doesn't mean you are fit to study in German yet!. I have foreigners in my course who have difficulty understanding the professors and they are supposed to be on 'C1 level '.

So, have that in the back of your mind.

Ps: I'm studying Computer Science (bsc)!.
