Many pastors and preachers have made people believe that, salvation is a gateway to prosperity and wealth. I say this because over the years, I came across believers and preachers who says that, you can not serve God and yet suffer poverty. They believe this lie because they failed to understand the deeper ways of God. These group of pastors and their believer's channelled their Christian faith on prosperity instead of the cross. They do not understand the mystery of the cross and the Christian life.

In the spiritual realm, true Christians are known by their suffering and love. Your life here on earth is like a spiritual school just like the physical school, how faithful you endure in every trials and phases of your life in suffering (classes of trials)

Your faithfulness and patient will determine your next level in the school of the spirit. God can instantly bless you with money but that blessing can become dangerous to your physical life and your spiritual wellbeing if you are not spiritually mature.

Many have asked this question and wonder why do God let's all the so called bad people have all they wants?

It looks as if God just allowed those who go against His will to prosper an enjoy. Those bad guys will temporarily have all they want base on God permissive will. But you as a child of God will not have all that you wants, base on God's perfect will and His timing.

It is obvious that in this world, people can lie, cheat and rob others to gain temporary wealth. There are three areas that determine whether the wealth comes from God or from the Devil; a blessing or a curse. Even if only one of these areas were true, the curse would be upon the wealth.

Wealth from the devil involves wealth from acts of sin, is maintained by acts of sin and propagates more acts of sin. The source, the upkeep and the goal of the supply of this money is evil. All wealth that involves the breaking of God's law is wealth from the devil. It continues to sustain the breaking of the law of God and encourages others to be wealthy by the same wicked means.

Wealth from God will come in God's timing and persistence tenacity in overcoming trials, and His blessings added no sorrow. God can open a financial door for you but that doesn't mean that he has started blessing you. The blessings of God is extreme and you need to develop Godly righteous characters to maintain God blessings. Godly character consist of

・Love
・Joy
・Peace
・Patient (Longsuffering)
・Kindness
・Goodneas
・Faithfulness
・Meakness (humility)(gentleness)
・Self-control

These are the qualities that will guarantee you for the never ending flow of God's favour and blessing. To develops these righteous characters above are the main reason why you must suffer to be physically and spiritually mature to be bless by God in heaven and on earth.

Godly characters only comes through long-suffering and this is the price you must pay. The price of faith for you to obtain all your heart desires and riches from God. For you to obtain your heart desires you must wait upon the Lord in faithfully endure suffering for many years.

If you want to share God's glory, you must carry the cross as swell. You must also share His suffering to receive the crown of glory. You must be willing to endure pain, humiliation, shame, disgrace, poverty and tears. Your body will be crucify by poverty, suffering and many years of trials.

Trying to use a shot cut can only put you in more bondage that may likely destroy you. Most of the things you crave for right now, you don't need them on your journey of faith which is your true life and the wilderness path to your destiny. You must also learn to let go of many things and look unto what is ahead.

Any preacher or pastor who told you to accept Jesus and enjoy the benefit from Jesus without the price of the benefit, they are just lying to you. Most of them are ignorant and materialistic.

I say to you; accept Jesus and suffer more. Accept Jesus and accept tears, pains, poverty, humiliation (shame and disgrace) as a means to be humble (Christ-like). Use every trials and challenges to be a good and humble man.

If you want God to bless and exalt you, then the painful cross await you. Therefore; genuine Christians are known by their suffering and love.

I stopped smoking immediate I was given a prophecy not to, unfortunately all the things promised to me when I was told to stop didn't show...still broke with a lot of projects on hand, bills and all the rest, yet I still don't smoke.

I did not know this will get to the front page... I just came back from church and met my mentions in a mess.

I see a lot of people saying 'weed is good, weed is better than bla bla bla' In the words of stereo man ekwe, if e good for your head... if e no good.... This people won't tell ya the time they've struggled to quit, and of course, it is an addiction that makes you give up, because quitting after years of use is almost impossible, at least with human strength,

I used and abused weed for seven years, from April 2013, till, 2 January 2021. I was not your average weed smoker, Infact one of the reason I was so into the habits was because I was 'fairly successful in academics and career later on. but early 2020, I began to think about my life, I began to think about the habits (I was also masturbating, indulging in premarital sex, alcohol and identifying as a cultist), I began to also experience spiritual attack, and I also tried repairing my relationship with God.

But the more I tried getting closer to God the more the devil used my habits to inhibit me. So I was seeking ways to kill of the flesh and make my body a living sacrifice, first I quit masturbation.. (for those seeking to quit pls join this thread https://www.nairaland.com/5223408/masturbation-quitting-challenge-thread). my journey is well detailed there. by God's grace june this year will be one year since I quit masturbating.
When I quit masturbating, my spiritual life improved, in fact God was answering my prayers and I began to feel his move. From April when I first made this thread, I continued praying and asking him to help me. I recognized that there was a spirit behind it, that was bigger than me.
Infact when the spirit behind weed calls you, you must answer!! mine was really chronic.

To those saying Marijuana is not a sin, let me tell you. Marijuana is an idol! when you start smoking, you wrap all your life around it. it becomes a mini-god. It also opens you up to various vices and influences, opens you up to people that are not your level, makes your mind a fertile ground for thoughts that are not from God.
It defaces you, it replaces your God-given looks and identity with something haggard. Excepct you don't desire to be close to God, then you can continue.


Around October , God gave me a new Job which was prayers answered, and I knew I was beginning to step into the a higher phase in Life, one which would not entertain the habit. at this time I was also a heavy Cigarette smoker. I made a decision to quit by 2020, and not take it to the new year! in fact when I told someone here on NL that I was depending solely on the holy spirit, he made jest of me and asked that I check into rehab. I continued praying. At night I will tell God that I am refusing to be an instrument of the devil, that I wanted him to change me and use me the way he did for SAUL in the bible. I will even challenge him , to see that I have never mudered anyone, but yet he used Paul, an ex-murderer. Then I spoke to Pastor I met here on NL about the habit (WinnersMOG). The man asked me if I was filled with the holy Ghost. I told him yes, but it seems I've lost it all through these months of smoking. He told me , that the thought is from the devil. That, Infact I should start speaking in tongues immediately. I remember his words clearly. 'A body that is carrying Fire of the Holy ghost Cannot smoke'.
I commenced praying in the Holy Ghost! mehn, my spiritual life assumed a newer dimension when I did. I felt connected in the spirit. this was between 18-23 December. Infact I started hearing that still voice of guidance from the holy spirit



By December 31st, I smoked my last weed and cig( or so I thought),. Than January 1st, I invited a guy I met at a smoking joint, who also wanted to quit and he was a Christian too. When he came to my house for the New year , behold he brought 'loud'. the devil is a liar sha. I spoke to myself ' what sort of temptation is this'. Then we smoked actually, and I went to the kitchen to prepare rice, as I was in the kitchen cooking food, the spirit of the Lord ministered to me in a still voice. "When you go into that room , break every bondage of smoking in the name of JESUS' Declare that , that day is the last time you will meet and smoke'

I took the food into the room and we began to eat,just as we were eating, we left the dropped our spoons, I can't explain how it happened, but the food was still plenty, and we broke into prayers. for the next 20 mins I prayed for the holy ghost to come and remove the yoke and brethren, behold it was broken!

From that moment till tomorrow, the urge to smoke completely died!! I am not only someone who is free from addiction, I am now a threat to the kingdom of darkness, I have conquered the vices that the devil use to hold young men down and I am now bringing people to the house of God! Hallelujah!
