Maybe he's from a well-to-do family with contacts. Those folks tend to have gold digging ways & see marriage as a business deal, usually between the parents or both families. It just doesn't make sense for a cute lady like that to be married away to a stump of a man, unless someone is gaining something out of the union.

To a very small degree, yes. It just shows taste imo & not character. But like everything else on the outside, it's not all that meets the eye.

I used to watch this game show on tv while growing up. The contestants were given an option between a beautifully wrapped box (which either had anything from car keys to useless knick-knacks with no value) & money. Sometimes they got really conflicted, thinking that the more beautiful & bigger the box was, the more valuable stuff it contained. Sometimes it did but sometimes it didn't. I guess it all goes back to that saying, don't judge a book merely by its cover.
