Politics › Re: Nigeria’s ICT Sector Attracted $40bn FDI In 2018 – Shittu by JaphNice(m): 10:21am On Nov 23, 2018 |
I thought this guy is on nysc now. [qquote author=17Ebiscoo post=73221139]Minister of Communications, Dr. Adebayo Shittu has claimed that Information Communication Technology (ICT) sector has attracted increased Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) from $32 billion in 2015 to $40 billion in 2018. He made this known during the official session of the 6th Regular Meeting of the National Council on Communication Technology (NCCT) taking place at June 12, Cultural Centre in Abeokuta with a theme “Leveraging ICT as the Veritable Vehicle for Economic Recovery and Growth.” The Minister said that the performance of the Telecommunications industry has also improved noting that there was a positive increase in the number of active telecoms subscribers with an increase from 148,70 million in august 2015 to 162.05 million as at September 2018, which is an increase of seven per cent. According to him “Teledensity rose from 107.67 per cent in August 2015 to 115.76 per cent in September 2018, thus recording an increase of 2.47 per cent. Similarly, Broadband penetration has reached 20.95 per cent, while the percentage of internet penetration has reached a milestone 48.44 per cent, making Nigeria, second only to South Africa in the whole of the African Continent”. Shittu stated He added that Nigerian ICT sector today is one of the fastest growing despite the economic recession and contributed 9.8 per cent in gross domestic product (GDP) in 2014. The challenge is how to leverage the opportunities thrown up by the new economy powered by ICT to address the issues of revenue, investments, cost savings, employment generation, and national productivity among others. Shittu pointed out that this year’s meeting is unique as it focuses on how the highly acknowledged potentials of the ICT Sector can be used to achieve the main policy objectives of Economic Recovery and Growth in view of the dwindling fortunes from oil and Gas. He said:“ In pursuit of the national agenda, we have continued to reposition the ICT sector in the areas of infrastructure and industry development, local content optimization, enabling policy, legal and regulatory framework; deepening of ICT in Government and mainstreaming of ICT into all spheres of national life among others”. In his goodwill message, managing director, Fintrak Software, Mr. Bimbo Abioye on behalf of the Institute of Software Practitioner of Nigeria (ISPON) urged government to provide enabling environment for software industry and habit of importation of foreign goods has to change in order to create employment in the country. Also, president of Certified Computer Manufacturers of Nigeria (CCMON) Engr. (Mrs) Adenike Abudu urged people and the government to patronize local manufacturers in order to create more jobs in ICT sector adding that through collective promotion of Nigeria we move the country to the next level. In his address, the Executive Governor of Ogun State, Senator, Ibikunle Amosun said, “we have also continued to ensure that economic and commercial opportunities in our dear State are further boosted through G2C (Government to Citizens) Solutions. http://www.mcebiscoo.com/2018/11/nigerias-ict-sector-attracted-40bn-fdi.html[/quote] |

Plz get small shame sir nairafame: Governor of Lagos state, Akinwumi Ambode, has assured that the governorship candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state for the 2019 general elections, Babajide Sanwo-Olu will not abandon pending projects.
Ambode gave this assurance while inaugurating an ultra-modern lecture theatre donated to the Lagos State University (LASU) by businessman and philanthropist, Remi Makanjuola, on Thursday.
According to the Governor, while efforts were on by his administration to complete all the major projects initiated by his administration, Sanwo-Olu would nonetheless complete those ones he was unable to deliver before the expiration of his tenure next year.
“I am so excited about the fact that Mr Sanwo-Olu has actually come out here and he has issued a promissory note and what that means is that we are going to have a government of continuity.
“For whatever structures that we have in LASU right now, and I’m going to also convince our chief negotiator, Dr Wale Babalakin, we are already doing Senate building here, we are doing Students Arcade and we are also doing the library, I hope I will be able to complete and finish them but if I am unable to complete them, I speak on behalf of Mr Sanwo-Olu that he will finish and also do the Staff School.
“We are not campaigning yet but truly that is the spirit of the kind of governance that we bring to Lagos; that is the spirit that we really want to see and then we should be able to show leadership in all spheres of life that we find ourselves,” Ambode said. http://www.nairafame.com/2018/11/sanwo-olu-will-complete-my-unfinished.html?m=1 |

Just divide this entity called Nigeria and everybody will her separate way then if you want to for anything to kill urself then u are free to do such without hiderance. NairaMedia: The Nigerian Army has uncovered a new terrorist group, Jama’atu Nus’ratul-Islami Wal-Muslimina, believed to be operating in the North-East of the country, and vowed to fight the group with “advanced technologies.”
The army in a statement said it had also identified the leader of the new group as Abul-Fadl Iyad Gali, adding that the existence of the group “portends grave danger to Nigeria’s national security.”
The Army also said its troops also killed an Islamic State of West Africa Province media chief, Sale Ahmad, also known as Baban Hassan, in a joint operation with the Nigerian Air Force.
According to the army, ISWAP is a faction of Boko Haram, directly affiliated to the Islamic State and has attacked military troops and civilians in recent times.
The statement read in part, “The new leader of Jama’atu Nus’ratul-Islami Wal Muslimina, Abdul-Fadl Lyad Gali, has been identified. The group is a new terrorist group which Ansaru is affiliated to. In the same vein, the identification of the leader of the group would enable the army to target the group effectively using advanced technologies in its arsenal. This is as the existence of group portends grave danger to Nigeria’s national security.
Reports available reveal that one Sale Ahmad Sale, the leader of Al-Barnawi media group, a faction of Boko Haram, was killed by a joint operation conducted by the army and the air force. The killing of the media leader is indicative of efforts by the army to eliminate key members of the sect. It is worthy to note that the sect is directly affiliated to the Islamic State and has carried out several attacks against troops and civilians in the past.”

Politics › Re: You Have A Case To Answer - Reps Tell Osinbajo Over NEMA's N5.8 Billion by JaphNice(m): 4:24pm On Nov 14, 2018 |
Mgbada dari ebi bu uru dinta! if u know u know. The Nema boss, Osibanjo and co be like let the Boko boys, herders and other natural disasters continues so we could keep making our money. But don't forget na blood money ooo but wait see me oo blood money kee! as if I don't know is our the money they just shared among themselves. TonyeBarcanista: 1. Osinbajo Illegally Approved Release of N5.8 Billion Presenting the committee’s report for consideration during plenary on Thursday, the chairman of the committee, Ali Isa (Gombe). said as the then acting president, Mr Osinbajo illegally approved the release of N5.8 billion in June 2017 from the Consolidated Revenue Fund Account to NEMA.
The committee chairman, Ali Isa, while presenting the report said the authorisation for the release of the fund for emergency food intervention in the North East contravened Section 80(4) of the 1999 Constitution as amended.
The section states that, “No money shall be withdrawn from the Consolidated Revenue Fund or any other public fund of the federation, except in the manner prescribed by the National Assembly”.
2. Osinbajo Authorised It And Ensured That Taxes Accruable To FIRS were not deducted nor did He Seek Approval of FEC
The lawmakers also stated that the authorisation did not follow due process as taxes and interest accruable to the government were not deducted or remitted to FIRS and no meeting of the Federal Executive Council approved the contracts.
3. The Monies Were Shared To Individual Banks And Violated The Law on Approval Limit The committee said the funds were credited directly to the individual banks of the companies and NEMA’s bank account, in violation of the approval limit allowed by law.
4. How Osinbajo And Friends Shared The Money The committee said out of the N5.8 billion, NEMA got N829 million for logistics and claimed it spent N369.5 million on general logistics; N189 million on branding and packaging; N248.6 million on branding and packaging and N21.9 million on contingency.
5. Committee Report Was Adopted The House, adopting the recommendations of the report, called for the dismissal and prosecution of the director-general of NEMA, Mustapha Maihaja, for fraud, corruption and embezzlement of N33 billion Emergency Intervention Fund, as well as all the government officials involved in the approval, processing, release and diversion of the fund.
It also said the Central Bank of Nigeria, being banker to the federal government, should not have been involved in giving loans to private companies and as such, should be investigated for the N2 billion loan said to have been given to four named companies.
The committee’s investigation of NEMA covered the release of N5.8 billion and N3.1 billion emergency food intervention of food security in the North East in 2017; the 6, 779 metric tonnes of rice donated by the Chinese government to IDPs in the North East and the payment of about N800 million demurrage on the donated rice.
The committee stated that N33 billion was lost by the federal government due to Mr Maihaja’s mismanagement and outright embezzlement of funds.
6. The House Called For Sack Of DG-NEMA The House unanimously agreed to ask President Muhammadu Buhari to relieve the director-general of NEMA of his duties and hand him over to relevant authorities for prosecution.
7. Fellow Nigerians What Happens To Yemi Osinbajo?

NAIJAHITPLAY: The Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the three persons, including Senator Eyinnaya Abaribe, who stood sureties for the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, to within two months, pay the sum of N100m each into the court’s account for their inability to produce the missing Biafran activist in court.
Justice Binta Nyako gave the order on Wednesday in a ruling in which she amended the conditions of the bail she had in April 2017 granted Kanu.
Kanu is being prosecuted before the court on charges of treasonable felony. His trial had been earlier separated from that of his co-accused following his disappearance after a military invasion of his home in Afara-Ukwu, Umuahia, in Abia State, on September 14, 2017 The three sureties who guaranteed his bail had been made to sign a bail bond of N100m each which was backed by their landed assets whose documents were deposited in court. But with the amendment ordered by the court on Wednesday, they are now required to deposit cash of N100m in the bank account of the court. Justice Nyako ruled that the three sureties had two months to pay the sum of N100m each into the court’s account. The judge reiterated that the order directing the sureties to pay the money was an order of interim forfeiture. She fixed March 28 for the hearing of the motions filed by the sureties to challenging the duties imposed on them to produce the IPOB leader. Dangote is the largest conglomerate in West Africa and one of the largest on the African continent with over 18 subsidiaries and presence in over 10 countries. Has revenue in excess of $4.1bn. The conglomerate has just a little over 30,000 employees.
First Bank is the biggest bank in Nigeria by total deposits and gross earnings. Operating a network of over 750 business locations across Africa, the United Kingdom and representative offices in Abu Dhabi, Beijing and Johannesburg set up to capture trade-related business between geographies. It has a total employee of about 8,000+
The Lagos State public sector is the largest employer of labour amongst the states in Nigeria. Nigeria's largest state economy and the 5th largest economy on the African continent. The state's public sector has a little over 100,000 in its employment. Facebook and it's Instagram and WhatsApp subsidiaries, with presence and field offices in many locations outside USA and an revenue of over $40bn (2017) has a little over 30,000 employees.
The Al-Futtaim group. One of the largest conglomerate in the Middle-East and perhaps the 2nd or 3rd largest in the UAE with billions of dollars in revenue has about 42,000 employees across the UAE, Middle East and the World.
The Koch industry is the second largest privately held company in the United States and the world. If it was a listed company, it would be the 17th largest in the world. The multinational employs 120,000 people in 60 COUNTRIES, with about half of its business in the United States.
How does Atiku's companies employ about 50,000 people? Where? How? Which of the companies? How many staff does ABTI have? How many does his water company have? INTEL, his biggest company by way of revenue cannot boast of 2,000 staff. I doubt Atiku's companies combined employs up to 10,000. The numbers do not add up at all. It is either he pays below minimum wage, doesn't pay at all or must have a high number of staff redundancy. Do you even know the PAYEE taxes he'd have to remit to state governments on those 50,000? Per month?
If Dangote, the largest conglomerate in the whole of West Africa, and one of the largest in the world, with numerous heavy industries to boast of employs only about 30,000, which of ATIKU'S businesses are that big?
Me: Atiku can only Atikulate the lives and brains of wailers. We knew that with time, more lies would be revealed and as we're aware, the trends are dropping faster than we had expected. |

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has disqualified popular Nollywood actor, Kenneth Okonkwo from contesting for Enugu governorship election in 2019 following his inability to purchase the nomination and expression of interest forms.
Igbere TV gathered that Kenneth Okonkwo has been begging his party members to help him out but all to no avail.
According to a source close to the popular actor,
“Whathappened was that he was hoping to get a waiver but we told him that the Party does not wave fees. Not just in APC but in every party you go, all the aspirants are expected to come up with their money to fund their nomination forms."
" Those that don’t want to come out themselves will tell you a group bought for them. In this case, Kenneth did not purchase his form by the deadline talk more of coming for screening..., " the source said.
The All Progressives Congress Party had set their nomination forms fees for Governorship aspirants at N22m.
Recall that the popular Nollywood Actor was heavily criticized after he said that the Igbos will continue to wander in the wilderness if they fail to vote for president Muhammadu Buhari come 2019 election.
