PoliticsRe: Atiku Launches Education Programme For IDP Children In Yola (photos) by jascon1(m): 9:44am On Feb 02, 2016
Cheap stunts to make fame. Senseless how we use the underprivileged to make names for ourselves. His loot caused the displacement of those kids. How do we fall so cheap? Ppl are on here celebrating him. He should have shamefully returned the money he stole. He operates a program in his name n wants to be celebrated for it? We have seen so many programs like this that have no proper financial foundation. In few years, the kids Will be left to their faiths. I don't believe in this program. It's a hoax. Stolen money that should have been properly channeled through an already established institution by the government for the IDP's.

Nice one, bro! Talking dialogue, with who, Tompolo or the vandals? According to Tompolo he knows nothing about the bombings
Amtruelovecom:
Sorry bro... Am still " freekiss"

Dialogue should be the first step and not air raid

Using air raid might solve the problem immediately , it will create a bigger problem in future

Don't forget an air strike will make the south south people to fully support Biafra

Well said and very comprehensive. I enjoyed reading you thought. Wish you had continued. You're more informed than the media. I agree with you 100% bro. A big thumb.
calaway:
My take is total connected to unfolding events, First of all be corrected in the insinuation that Tompolo looted, he does not have direct access to government funds and was not directly involved in the electioneering motion, neither is he sophisticated enough to serve as a laundering conduit for official with access to looted funds but a businessman and from what we gather from the media trials Tompolo is being chased over the matter of land which he sold to federal government at presumed exorbitant and unrealistic price and probably other huge contracts he may have handled but ask your self this pertinent questions first before you look at the said Tompolo outrageous patronage by government, is it out of place for government to patronize its citizens? or is it because it is tompolo and ijaw man that it appers too much fo one person? Remember how Dangote started, Abacha gave him the sole license to import SUGAR, SALT AND RICE for 170million Nigeria for more than 7 years (policy backed monopoly)nobody complained or is it ATIKU who is the sole concessioneer of the entire onne port complex which handles all oil related shipping logistics in Portharcout making billions monthly in revenue and giving government what they please or is it all the oil well in SS and south east dashed to hausa men who sell rights to operators for prices upwards of 1billion US dollars and still maintain their stake in the said oil wells and declare to government whatever they please? the list and examples are endless, In my thinking these are the real looters not this tompolo, All said if buhari needs to fight corruption do it from the root and obvious instances and not arrest and then begin to look for or build a case against perceived opponents. Now whether we like or not TOMPOLO is an Ijaw son of reckon and his following since his days of militancy has not diminished but rather has increased and become more sophisticated confronting him will generate the same storm type confronting Kanu has generated but more to this is that there will be sustained and punishing deprivation of nigeria from her only source of sustenance as it was in 2008 - 9 when daily oil export was a mere 180,000 bpd. FG must dialogue with Tompolo in a very civil tone otherwise what must be will be. I need not highlight the reality that a storm is already brewing the the polity.

Ok, i totally agree with you. But, if i get you right, your proposition is away from the recent happenings. Would u recommend a dialogue between FG n Tompolo/Ijaw ppl or just let Tompolo go and concentrate on looters from other stateshuh
Personally, I thought Buhari could have saved the best for last. The Niger Delta is a delicate zone and could have been the last to indict in this fight against corruption.
Let me hear further from you

have you not heard that there has been calls by the ijaws against the government bordering on the fact that the oil and gas well in the ss are ownd by hausa people and operated by multinationals headed by yoruba and locating these oil company headquarters and allied services in lagos where taxes are also paid.

If you commended Buhari for disobeying the courts, but you are now condemning Tompolo for disobeying the court, then you are worse than an slowpoke.

Buhari has made the disobedience of court order a very fashionable thing to do . Nigerians have started learning from him .

Very soon nobody will obey the courts anymore.

Anarchy is looming.

CultureRe: Woman Flees Nigeria To Canada To Escape FGM by jascon1(m): 1:00pm On Jan 14, 2016
In as much as i find your comment optimistic, I would be delighted to wake you up to the realities of life. According to you, you know your right while she doesn't, You can write a petition while she isn't as educated as you're to write one, you can find a good lawyer while she didn't believe she could, you have saved enough cash for legal proceedings while she hasn't. You're not the only person who knows his right, but of what use is knowledge without practice? No matter how good you try to paint the picture, deep within yourself you know that Nigeria hasn't achieved that advanced judicial system to offer transparent legal services to her populace. FGM is a rooted culture that will take more than the police or lawyers to dissipate. Is good to fight for your right, but don't be too sure of yourself yet. Many have gone n nothing changed
coolsix:
Sir, All what you wrote about rape and no conviction is those who do not know their rights. If you have a good lawyer, you can win a case like this. If the police are siding with the father in law, they are not the only division in Nigeria, You can write a petition to the commissioner. Sir, i advice you know your rights and don;t let anyone intimidate you in the name of culture. So many cultural stuffs worse than this i have seen and cleared away with the law. The constitution of the Federal Republic is not following your culture. Nigeria is a secular state. Your culture says molest and torture a child almost to death, sit down and kill your child then. Don;t make a move.

This story is fake! What about Child Rights Act? Mr, wake up. As bad as Nigeria is, i know there is a law when you want the law to take its course. Note the emboldened .
PoliticsRe: Man From US Claims DSS Picked Him Up For Questioning (pics) by jascon1(m): 12:31pm On Jan 14, 2016
in all you said, I will want to encapsulate it as sentimentality. Buhari never ordered his arrest. Buhari might not have ever heard of him or his write-ups. DSS operatives are simply carrying out their usual task. He's not and will never be a threat to Buhari. Don't put the blame on Buhari yet. Until it gets to the presidency before you judge. Is obvious that you don't like Buhari.
knightsTempler:
To tell the truth, I am engulfed in roaring flames of tremendous anguish and laden with sorrow. Allow me to say that the joy I should naturally feel for such a potent victory awarded to buhari is destroyed by fear of what it MAY cost us. Buhari's disguise is so perfect and complete, expertly masking his nefarious schemes and personal ambitions, professing change in the most appealing language and manner that we treat his ambition with incredulous complacence. A man who, in the past, perfidiously isolated freedom of speech from the people, encouraged fanaticism, held bigoted views on religion and ethnicity, and voiced malicious profanity of the worst degree with his words clearly purporting violence. People criticized GEJ openly in all ramifications, even mocked the first lady without known repercussions. This time, you may have to learn how to cage your tongues and present proper civility. It is said that a child can play with its mother's breasts but not with the father's testicles. Beyond the usual rhetoric on good governance, discipline and his appeal to base sentiments, buhari has usually been hypocritical. Some people raving mad about the new-fangled parlance "CHANGE" are just products of the 90s. They haven't the minutest idea the specie of cobra on transit to the seat of presidency. Never mistake the glaring teeth of a chimpanzee for a smile. Nevertheless, we pray for the best. I'll only find myself disappointed with this nation when the same people who, today, are bellowing "CHANGE HAS COME" are found tomorrow in despairing opposition to what they once embraced with epileptic lunacy and blinding sentimentality.

CultureRe: Woman Flees Nigeria To Canada To Escape FGM by jascon1(m): 8:01am On Jan 14, 2016
I dont think you are African or have lived in Africa or even visited Africa. What do u know about the police?? The rate of domestic violence in Africa is alarming. We hear of rape and molestation cases, homicide and so many heinous crimes committed everyday in Africa, but how many convictions being recorded? Next to none. If her claim were true, then she did the best thing in life. Don't come to preach about legal procedure here, cos' by your comment I can easily understand that you have never been through one in your life. Do you think it is easy to sue someone? The case on ground is a case of tradition and rights. As we know deep to the core, Africa is still strongly embedded in its traditional beliefs.
If she were your sister would you have allowed her to go through the torture of a legal battle? Can you sponsor it? Do you have any faith in your judicial system? You will never understand until it comes to you
coolsix:
I dont understand.

A grown woman gave birth to a daughter.. First of all,

IS FGM LEGAL IN NIGERIAhuh

why run away? How will your father in law subject your daughter to torture? And you are scared of him so you ran to a foreign land to claim "Refugee Status". What happened to the Police? You cannot Sue the father in law? Na by force? This is 2016 not 1858. There is a rule of law. He can sue and CAN BE SUED!

That father in law should be arrested and charged to court for molestation and child abuse.

Nigerians and their stupidity.
Why would they tie him down with a rope ??
Even if he killed 40 people, No civilian should take laws in their hands.

In developed countries, the people who did this to him will get not less than 5 years in prison.
I challenge you to mention the countries. What do you know about use of force? Even in the states or Canada intruders and trespassers get shot at and killed and many times the killers go free. In the court of law, the staffers have many counts again the suspect. This is a case of reoccurring theft and possibly burglary and the caught suspect didn't come alone nor did he come without an object to kill or inflict harm. The only thing they might have failed to do was call 911 after using force to prevent escape. He was not bodily bruised as I see in the pic which could have been used against them if they don't have strong opposition.
If the staffers had a four pounder they could have shot him and claimed self-defense. And, to correct ur irrationality, don't compare legal practices in developed world to Nigeria. Nigeria's legal system is legally backed with the use of force if not, there won't be any justice. Be progressive with your thoughts an not seeking critical hypothesis to impede justice or eradicate vices in our society
Christianity EtcRe: The Church Being Built By Governor Dickson In Bayelsa - Photos by jascon1(m):
In as much as am a Christian I will not give any credit to him. Embezzling public funds and building a massive structure to fool faithfuls into singing his praises is cavernously evil . Churches litter the streets in Nigeria while corruption and crime rate double per second. Back in the days, people used to give to the church, now the church gives to people. Pastors are now richer than some countries.
Nigerians need to awaken to religious freedom. We need to understand that God judges us individually and not collectively. We must not nod at anything a Christian or pastor does, cos condemning an action which is glaringly odd in the spiritual glance can help save us and the doer from the wrath of God.
People are starving, dying and committing crimes because of low standard of living and you are building a church. Only the devil can do that. Religion is massively separate from politics.
Am sure the money used to build that church could have built a skill acquisition center to empower thousands of dedicated persons.
TravelPORT HARCOURT AIRPORT, NIGERIA IS THE WORLD'S WORST AIRPORT IN 2015 by jascon1(op): 3:31pm On Jan 02, 2016

http://edition.cnn.com/2015/10/19/aviation/worlds-worst-airports-2015/index.html

(CNN)Traveling through Nigeria's Port Harcourt International Airport any time soon?

Sorry for your luck.

The African terminal received the unfortunate distinction of being named "world's worst airport" in 2015 by travel website The Guide to Sleeping in Airports.

This year's survey, which asked fliers to identify the world's worst and best aviation terminals, attracted 26,297 qualifying responses.

Despite the site's name, airports weren't just rated according to how easy it is to take a nap while inside them.

Sleeping in Airports' readers were asked to judge facilities in four categories: comfort, conveniences, cleanliness and customer service.
