You are afraid of going to jail! Don't worry, prison is meant for criminal.
He cried for the soul of the country as he believe that our problem is inability to see things the way he's seen it. Those you rally round are behind Nigeria dilemma who will never want him as president to rescue the poors. He built refinery when he was a president. He tackle corruption as untouchable were touch and suddenly became born again. The fear of Buhari was order of the day. Obj position Nigeria the way it is now. He denied Awolowo from rulling Nigeria. He handed government over to Yaradua instead of Buhari. He's here again shouting foul.

IdomaLikita:
I watched the Interview and I'd rate him 70%
His Answers were Simple and he chose his words carefully since he knows Nigerians are watching keenly to twist his words against him!

1. Corruption: "Other Sectors will take time to contribute significantly to our GDP, hence we should prioritize Stabilizing Oil Prices and Plugging Wastage from top to bottom while waiting for other sectors to mature"

#Strength: For christ sake, isn't that what prominent economists have been saying all the while?? Plug wastage, reduce cost of governance, diversify(while will not mature any time soon) and use our position in OPEC to stabilize Oil prices(which is fairly stable now)! His ability to summarize this is Simple terms earns him a 60%

#Weakness; His Inability to use technical terms and quote figures cost him 40%

2: Security: "The Soldiers are complaining of not having enough Weaponry despite the huge disbursements from the FG" "Nigeria would have Initiated Chad, Cameroun and Niger earlier before now"

#Strength: He won the Hearts of the Military by absolving them of blame( smart political move) and laid the blame indirectly on the Govt and Military Hqtrs for siphoning funds meant for combat! He Bolstered this assertion further by saying "Nigeria didn't borrow a Dime while fighting the Civil War, hence a $1Billion Loan is unjustifiable". This also exposes the corruption that is Sabotaging the War effort! I'll give him a 70% in this Regard

#Weakness: The Government is already implementing some of his suggestions though late, thus requiring the need for brand new ideas which he lacked! He lost 30% there!

3. Flexibility: "I cannot work outside the Decision of my Party", "I signed the Undertaking..."

#Strength: it shows he is willing to work as a team with others who may not share similar Ideals as his! That shows Team spirit and and ability to defer to the Decisions of the Party Hierarchy! For a Man who has been seen as an Autocrat! I think he has proven his skeptics wrong! I give him a 100% in this regard

#Weakness: None!

4. Patriotic: "I do not regret truncating the Shagari Regime"
I think that was his finest moment! Any Admission of regret would have automatically ended his political career!

#Strength: 'Democracy is not an avenue to destroy institutions and watch unprecedented Stealing"! The events in Egypt, Thailand, Burkina Faso and soon Togo all vindicate him! He values State institutions much more than anything and would do anything necessary to protect it!
(This is the reason why Sisi and Zida still enjoy 90% popularity in their countries despite toppling democratic regimes)! I score him an 60% in this regard!

#Weakness: He should have used events in other countries and the antecedents of his era to back his assertion! He would have used the opportunity to brag about his achievements within his 18month rule as against the Shagari regime! It cost him 40%

The Man looked kinda Frail though!

Wish him the Best!

Former Speaker, Tambuwal you speak like an uneducated person. Agreed that you were not the party's candidate for speaker. If you were not a member of the party, would you have contested at all? Why is it that only members of the PDP contested for the speakership. Why did the ACN, CPC, APGA , accord, labour, etc, members not contest? Why did you not defect to ACN then and contest. The position of Speaker was reserved for the party with the majority members. That party was PDP. That you were not supported by the party is not an issue.
That you can even go against your party's directive shows your high level of indiscipline and ambition. You are not a leader if you refused to be led yourself. One thing that certain here is that: 'we are together in it'

PoliticsRe: Dangote's Cement Price Drop Was To Support GEJ's Agenda by jaso1(m): 11:04pm On Nov 03, 2014
ducii:
The True Reason Why Dangote Slashed Cement Prices Revealed

Africa’s largest cement producer, Dangote Cement Plc has slashed local cement prices to N1,000 ($6) and N1,150 ($7), for different grades. The cement giant is keen to consolidate its position as not only Africa’s top cement maker, but the leading provider in the continent’s largest economy, Nigeria.

The current market price for a 50kg bag of the 32.5 grade and 42.5 grade retails for N1,700 ($10.3), 40 percent higher than Dangote’s latest offer. This is the lowest cement price offered consumers since 2005, and ups the ante in what is considered one of the continent’s more competitive markets.

Group Managing Director of Dangote Cement, Devakumar Edwin said the price cut was aimed at supporting the government’s ongoing effort to shrink housing deficit, which currently stands at an estimated 17 million.

“One of the ways of addressing the issue (huge infrastructure and housing deficit) is bringing the price of building materials down to much more affordable levels, especially cement, which is within our own control as part of our contribution to the transformation agenda of the President Goodluck Jonathan administration and the attainment of key milestones in the Millennium Development Goals,” Edwin said.

Since the backward integration policy for cement was implemented in 2002, local production capacity of the product has increased from less than 3 million metric tonnes per annum to about 38 million metric tonnes per annum, and nearly $20 billion has been injected into the Nigerian cement industry with Dangote – Africa’s richest man and owner of the Dangote Group – accounting for 60 percent of that investment.

With market capitalization surging beyond $22 billion, Dangote Cement is Nigeria’s most capitalized listed company and the first to hit $20 billion capitalization mark.

Sirniyeh:
NOVEMBER 3, 2014 BY SAMUEL AWOYINFA, ABEOKUTA

A former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, has
attributed the rot in the power sector to the
administrations that came to office after his tenure.
Obasanjo believed that if Nigeria must surmount the
power challenge, it must start generating additional
2,000 megawatts every year.

He said apart from his efforts to ensure stable power
while he was the military Head of State in 1979,
subsequent administrations did nothing on power
generation, up to the time he returned as a civilian
president in 1999.

The former President said this on Monday at a
programme tagged First Green Legacy Moment with
Chief Olusegun Obasanjo on Leadership and Human
Security in Africa, held in Abeokuta.

While he noted that part of the challenges confronting
the nation was lack of political will by Nigerian leaders,
he, however, warned that power should not be
“privatised to friends.”

He said, “Part of our problems is lack of political will on
the part of the leaders. What does a leader understands
about development? Any leader worth his salt should
know that power is very important. It is the driver of all
development, be it social, economic, and even political.

“When I was military head of state, I developed the
Jebba dam, I developed Shiroro, I started Egbin. Shagari
came and completed Egbin and inaugurated Jebba and
Shiroro.
“Between Shagari in 1983, until I came back in 1999,
there was no single dime invested in power generation.

If anything, the ones that were there were allowed to go
down.
“A country like Nigeria must be adding not less than
2,000 megawatts every year if we are to be moving on
the part of development.

“If you will remember, when I came back in 1999, my
first Minister of Power was late Bola Ige. I won’t say Bola
didn’t know what he was doing and he said publicly that
he would fix the power problems in six months.

“After one year, Bola, with his capacity, couldn’t fathom
what was wrong with power; it was riddled with
corruption. Then, we had no money. People have
forgotten that in 1999/2,000, the price of crude oil was
US $9 per barrel.

“When we started having money, we started the National
Integrated Power Plant. When we said the money we
had should be invested in power, my successor (Umar
Yar’Adua) didn’t understand; he stopped it.

“If for almost 20 years, we did not achieve anything in
power generation, then we may not be able to get it
again.”
