Aaaah Nigerians. Squabbling amongst ourselves on matters of tribe, thinking you're better than the next tribe, not knowing you're puppets, playing the game they want you to play, acting and typing out of false cultural indoctrinations of being better than the next tribe, of being wronged by a certain tribe. Can't we see beyond that? What happened to objectivity and using our brains? I've checked for this so called news in the punch papers. Didn't find it. If someone has please upload a picture of the article. How sad would it be to see y'all have been insulting each other over some fake news. |
1. God doesn't desire for anyone to go to hell. John 3:17 For God did not send His Son into the world that He might condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through Him. Man in Adam and Eve sinned and as a result, the nature of sin and it's consequence passed down. The consequence being separation from God, spiritual death. Faith in the Christ remedies that. The human has a choice to either accept the Zoe or not. Inasmuch as the Father loves, he's not going to force us. It would render free will useless. Man has a choice, eternal salvation by faith or damnation (which is described as death). 2. Man has a choice. God knew the nature of man was and is corruption, that's why a permanent perfecting solution in Christ was put in place. He set the solution for sin nature already. Christ. See it is not sin by works that is the issue of man. It is the sinful nature within him which brings works of sin. 3. The flesh cannot enter heaven. It's corruptible. The body is just a vessel, your spirit is the real you. Heaven is a spiritual realm. God is spirit. The spirit of the believer is saved, his flesh is not. 1 Corinthians 15:50 I tell you this, my brothers: an earthly body made of flesh and blood cannot get into God’s Kingdom. These perishable bodies of ours are not the right kind to live forever. The spirit of the believer which is born after God is a citizen of heaven already, albeit living in the physical until the day of our Lord or physical death. Whichever comes first. Perhaps you ought to read your Bible more. Not daily nuggets or to claim promises but to understand the person of God by his revelation of Christ, and what his sacrifice has given you. It's key. |
Holman Christian Standard Bible Romans 11:5-6 In the same way, then, there is also at the present time a remnant chosen by grace. Now if by grace, then it is not by works; otherwise grace ceases to be grace. The Greek translated church is "ekklesia", literally meaning "the called out ones". Who by faith in Christ Jesus have been translated from the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of God, believers. The church of Christ is not about denominations, denominations are institutions where the Christian is taught the truth in accordance to scripture but the church of Christ (figuratively called His body) is the collection of all believers, all the ekklesia. Not a particular denomination or members of a particular denomination. God doesn't know the Christian by the church he attends. He relates with us by virtue of new birth. You are the remnant, by virtue of faith in Christ in quite a perverse world. |
Miggs:I have issues with your comments, but I'll just tell you not to be quick to justify being a non virgin with reasons like future promiscuity or dearth of "pure, angelic" women. That you haven't met one doesn't mean there aren't. Perhaps not in your searching circles anyway, but don't generalize. |
Let's see Paul 2 Corinthians 1:24 not that we rule [like dictators] over your faith, but rather we work with you for [the increase of] your joy; for in your faith you stand firm [in your strong conviction that Jesus of Nazareth—the Messiah—is the Son of God, through whom we obtain eternal salvation]. An error in the body of Christ is to think that pastors are closer to God than the "ordinary" Christian. In Christ, we are all the same, God loves and dwells within us the same, pastors and members alike. The "least" Christian is as close to God as the holiest pastor. We submit to learn, and they lead to teach, not as lords or masters. For in Christ, we are equal. |
What makes you a Christian is faith in Christ alone. Not works lest any man boast. Eph 2:9. For being a Christian, you're a citizen of heaven because you have the nature of God within you. Primary things first. Giving or works have nothing to do with going to heaven. But as Christians, you should give and abound in good works. |
Chris, It all bears down to faith. Hope in itself is a word that takes out the effectiveness of God. Faith is rooted. I believe (and maybe that's just me) that if you reach a point where a man's doubts about God totally overshadow his 'faith', he perhaps never truly had faith or he doesn't really know what it means to. Then, God, the bible, church and the whole christian stuff becomes a formality he eventually casts aside. There will always be God reality vs the reasoning of the unregenerated mind of man. I insist that true faith defiantly steps up in the mind of the believer at that moment. You cannot conceive the God reality without true faith. That aside, "why does He let it linger if He can stop it?:" Say the smith gets tired and removes the gold before its pure, it would be worthless. There's nothing like 'half baked' gold, the time has to be complete even if the gold doesn't know when. Perhaps likening God to a smith isn't the perfect example as he cant speak to his gold. But we have a God, a Father. He speaks! Oh how He speaks. We aren't listening! We aren't sensitive to His voice. We listen to the wrong things, the wrong voices and all the while His Spirit within us groans and wishes we could just listen for a minute! So, i'd rather you live by a defiant faith, the true faith, than a lukewarm, weak and fragile, submissive and about-to-snap hope. It takes that to first accept that He's going through it with you and then, you'll start seeing His evidences. Shey i never bore you so? |
Chris, what ya gotta know is that challenges come and uncool things happen to everyone. Its how they react to it that either makes 'em better people or worse. 1. The thing with life is that it can't all be rosy. People blame God for stuffs and ask like 'why can't He do this blah blah'. I use the fire example. gold has a melting point of 1062 °. see it might blame the smith if it could talk buh the smith knows that only through that would it become gold, and He suffers with it, sweating, willing the bar to hold out till it purifies. Don't think He's just up there watching you. He's going through it with you! Trust me, God is not some aloof puppet master. If you got the time, Rom. 8:18 downwards. 2. You really need to stop letting people get to you. What your pastor says is very important, but your belief in God should stem from your faith. Its not insanity, its faith. You should have faith in God, (I'm ofcourse assuming you're bornagain), faith that He's looking out for you, faith that He's right there with you, faith cos He's your father, faith cos He's God. Oh the many that don't believe cos of what they see and hear (or rather, what they can't see). Wish i could explain more buh mehn, finger dey pain me. Pm me Chris, we should talk more. Hope that helped a little. |
