PoliticsRe: Sell NNPC Refineries To Fund Modular Plants, CORAN Tells Govt by JASONjnr(m): 1:59pm On Aug 25, 2024
mrvitalis:
Fallacies of appeal to authority

I want someone to show me with numbers how refining crude in nigeria would lead to cheaper petrol?

It cost less than ₦5 to transport refined goods to nigera from Europe or asia

In fact it cost way from to transport it from depot to filling stations than from Europe to Nigeria per litre

So how exactly would local refining make petrol cheaper I really want to know
Local refinery is profiting if the corrupt people would let it run without shutting down and demanding for maintenance fees.

Also, it's more profitable as we will easily be able to have absolute control and storage of our excess production into reserves pending when there's dollar rise.

More profiting when we dont have to pay more people to protect the vessels from pirates.

All these cost are what the FG will never bring to your notice because it's non-of-your-biniz!😎

Omo, how can the FG be this slow when it has to do with the workers .....

But when it involves their looted funds, they approve it in a jiffy.

Tinubu scammed labour. And since he wasn't going to pay the money, they decided to destabilise the labour HQ with irrelevant police invites and so on.

And you guys expect the first class beneficiaries of the current flawed system to accept and change it? It will be a miracle for such to happen.
If they refused, then they stand to face the consequences....

Remember that, nothing last forever...

The African-Americans of today where slaves and they were sold around and molested anyhow... Today they're free.

One day, Nigeria will rise and face the oppressors. Might be soon or later.

Who would've believed that PDP will be out of power? But today APC is there and someday, another party will take over.

Things will get better, whether we like it or not.

It will be a revolution and it will sweep across all the tribes and all the class of individuals.

Lugbe, Nyanya, Kuje and Mabushi are places where you cannot be too free with your things....

Some people should understand that, when you're slim, you probably don't have enough calories to burn, but you can lift metals to build up your muscles. But then you need supplements to boost up your tissues.

But I regularly see slim people working out.... For what?

If a woman has the fear of God and willing to endure, then the marriage will stand. But if she no wan gree for anybody, na so the relationship go scatter...

The corruption is a symptom of the ultimate problem which is quite simply that electrical power is not sold at a cost reflective tarrif.

Once you start doing subsidy and cheap things, corruption follows because at the end, it matters not how much you thief, government money is coming.

Same thing does not happen with gsm because at the end, you make profits or you die. Mtel on the other hand collapsed because free government money and subsodsed price. It could not make enough of a profit to compete with the others, even glo. Let's not even forget nitel self.
Let's assume the government decides to stop subsidy on power tariff. What will happen to the profit from the sells of the power distribution from tax derivation?

Same corruption will happen to it.

It's the same thing happening with the oil sector, after subsidy was removed, the oil tycoons is now powerful as they control the total funds of the all crude sells.

It doesn't matter if it's privatised or not.

That is a profit of approx 700 billion naira yearly.

Consider that we need something like 10 billion dollars or 15 trillion naira yearly to even get to somewhere around 24 hours daily power

Consider that most discos don't make enough to pay tax .

Consider that till first quarter 2024, most discos customers paid well below the cost of production

Consider that three discos had to be taken over by the banks because debt

Consider that government owes discos 1.7 trillion naira in unpaid subsidies

Consider that at least 40% of consumers don't pay for the power they use

That's why we can't have good things.

Band A consumer make up 20% of all consumers of power. Most people have still been paying under the production cost.

The thing is, if government was serious about letting the power sector operate in a free and open market, nothing stops them from making 5 trillion yearly

Plus why should they give you meter free. How would they pay the meter manufacturing companies? Most of whom employ common Nigerians and have salaries to pay.

Would you give people free stuff if you had a business?
I am using estimated bill..... I pay rough 50k monthly for a one bedroom flat......

Also, the corruption that is within the TCN is the reason why the power sector is where it is today.

You shouldn't take excuses for these people.

The essence of the bands created was to remove subsidy so that people using the light at a full range will pay for it.

Regardless of his support for corruption and looking elsewhere while the government torments the people of Nigeria..... Ensuring that the judiciary and it's staff receive reasonable pay without striking or dragging the government and reviving the institution is highly recommended.

Recently, they improved on affidavit and they introduced barcode scanning.

But yet, he couldn't ensure that the judiciary stand independent of the executive intimidation.....

Shame on your retirement sir!

What policies do governors need to cultivate their land and set up agro-processing zones in their states? What policies allowed Saraki as governor to invite Israeli farmers to Kwara State? What policies allowed a Harvard-trained economist to come to Jos to farm tomatoes and earned the nickname "Tomato Jos"? What policies allowed Governor Bago to import tractors and purchase buses as well as setting up a cargo airport to life agro-produce?

What policies allow governors to spend billions on Ramadan feeding and Hajj subsidy without addressing basic needs of water supply?

Now that Supreme Court granted LG autonomy, some state governors like Oyo are opposing it. Why?

My entire challenge to all of you is: do not absolve anybody! Hold everyone to account. The state governors purchased vehicles for traditional rulers; on what budget?
Governors are cultivating and empowering farmers... You're making assumptions because you haven't been to state owned farms...

I have always admonished governors to work for their people. I was not on Nairaland during GEJ's tenure, and I supported GEJ then before supporting Buhari. Here is when I admonished the Edo governor in 2020.
That isn't clearly defined.... It's a post from 2020 and that was APC tenure.

You're singing support for the president and asking people to hold governors accountable.... But these organs work simultaneously and without the policies of the president, the governors can't implement otherwise in their respective states.

After reading my submissions, make the effort to understand.

It is tasking to keep explaining things to your kind when my submissions are so simple for a child to follow. Did I say don't blame the president?

I am saying include the governors and leaders at all levels as Nigeria is a federal system and not a unitary system.

How hard is that to comprehend?
It will make sense to post a screenshot of you blaming the governors during GEJ and Buhari regime.

For us to ascertain that, you've been pushing for this campaign of blaming governors and not just a new routine or an awakening call for governors time to receive blames.

I believe in what you said but why are you starting now?

What silly braveness is that?

Protesting in a country where the government knows the right thing to do but rather refused to do it and share the money to buy yatch.

Is like educating a dunce who refuses to listen to learn. What's brave about protesting against a government that pays teachers, the nation builders a token while paying PAs to politicians way bigger and without tax deductions.

Nigerians need MIRACLE to happen.

But we voted a president and he's there buying yatch and setting up a refinery and exporting crude to make more money aga8ehat his wife said that they're already rich and that they're not coming for Nigeria's money.

So, we need miracles and not hardworking president.

Any country with the population of India and poverty inflicted country as India who adopted the use of technology will always strive in ICT development.

Nigeria is yet to make use of chatgpt but when we start, they will restrict us from using it. Because, we will abuse it.😁

Irrespective of anything, the world is aware that India is the centre of internet fraudsters and scamming....but somehow, Nigeria takes the blame.
