My opinion, i think you need to understand the architect of a computer. What i mean is this, you need to understand the structure of a computer, learn how hardwares interact with software and vice. I assure you, if don't learn this, there is no way you will be come a good programmer. |
Sorry guys, it's been long i visited nairaland.@phinabrown, @classifyd have sent it. @banjo78 start reading and practicing! |
fatezy:I think the answer should be " An Application that meets the end users requirement!" |
1. Can you explain the concept of object oriented programming(OOP)? 2. Have you done anything on web services, XML, Windows Services or Windows Communication Foundation? 3. What project have you worked on? You must be able to explain the project and if possible show the project ( reason for this, nobody ones to hire a programmer good in theory but has no really hands practical. except if it is an entry level. |

@Beaf the custom DNN modules are for website. Internally we use MOSS 2007(sharepoint) but we don't have test environment. So we don't do sharepoint module development. Do you do DNN? |
@frank have sent it! |
Have sent all! One final advice while reading try to download sample source code of applications. It will help learn faster. HAPPY CODING! |
I have sent you the following books 1. Introduction To Microsoft Visual Basic 2005 2. Visual Basic 2005 Jumpstart (2005) 3.Visual Basic 2005 In A Nutshell, 3rd Edition (2006) I will send books on c#,c,c+, Java and Python before 11am today |
@enzo01 Welcome to the real world. Since you are new, i think you need to identify one language to start with. If you start downloading books on java,c,c++,python and the rest you will get confussed as a beginner. Just identify one language. and i will give you the book. I'm just trying to help oh, if insist on other books c#,java,c++ and the rest i will give you. |
You don't need to understand assemble language or networking to get started with programming. Though it will be an advantage. When i started programming i didn't know anything about networking or assemble language. What you need is to identify a language (c,c++,c#,java, python) you will love to learn first and focus on that for a while. Just identify one and i will give you good e-books to start with. |
I think i have HeadFirst java but it's very heavy(about 15mb). Send your email address. |
try dragging to source instead of design. I have experienced this before on windows 7. Not sure of the cause. |
Like @X-2-X said there is nothing like best java book. first you really need to desire the language. if the desire is not there, even if you read all the java books in this world you will never understand. I will recommend that you read "thinking in java" |

I have data structure and algorithm in java(2001). if you need it please send your email address. |
1. Master one language at a time or you will become master of none. 2. Most programmers all over the world compete on sites like vworker.com, freelancer.com, topcoder.com etc. Join any of these site and see what real world user requirement looks like, this will build your confidence in programming 3. Download sample source codes and study it. 4. Have passion for programming 5. Read! Read! Read! |
@abujamd i believe you want to create java application with .jar extension. You can use Netbeans to achieve this. www.netbeans.org It's a free java IDE. |
What programming language? If it is ebooks, i can give you free! |
TO answer your question i will say YES! We have lots of C# developers in nigeria. am one and most of my friends do C#. In the company where i work(telecoms) we develop VAS Solutions, web services, custom modules for DotNetNuke(cms) using C#. |
Name: Ademola Adedeji Email: Ademola.oba@gmail.com Phone: 08022227445 Skills: C# (7/10), Python (6/10), Java (8/10), C (3/10), Photoshop cs4 (5/10) I have some e-books on game programming (python,java,.Net) |
nice work pls keep it up. |
Oracle and Java are not the same. I will advice that you conduct a research on both. Oracle deals majorly database while java is more of a programming language for developing web application, Windows application, etc. Like some said the interest and passion has to be there. And who says there is something wrong with networking (CCNA), We have so many oracle and java professionals out there without a job. My brother you have to pray very well and love what you do. |
