Ned Nwoko: Abuja Courts Revokes Jaruma's Bail, Orders Her Re-Arrest And Remand In Suleja Prison

The Upper Area Court, Zuba in Abuja has revoked the bail granted popular aphrodisiac seller Hauwa Saidu popularly known as Jaruma, IgbereTV reports.

Jaruma is facing a four-count charge of ''defamation of character, criminal intimidation, injurious falsehood, and publishing falsehood to incite the public to hate against Prince Ned Nwoko, Regina Daniels' husband.''

She was granted bail on January 28 after four days in custody.

The presiding judge, Barrister Ismail Abdullahi Jibrin, revoked the bail and ordered for her rearrest after she and her counsel failed to appear in court today and failed to send any representative.

The judge ordered that Jaruma should be remanded at the Suleja Correctional Centre, until March 17, 2022 which is the new adjourned date.

The judge had earlier on stood the case down as none of Jaruma's lawyers showed up in court. A lawyer who was in the court premises had appealed to the judge to be patient as Jaruma and her lawyers might show up later.

After waiting for two hours, the judge in anger revoked her bail and ordered her re-arrest.

A student of the University of Lagos has gone viral after she reacted to the ongoing ASUU strike, IgbereTV reports.

The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, on February 14, 2022 declared a month’s warning strike.

Asked how she feels about the strike, a student of Unilag said she is happy about it.

"I'm happy, it's good news," she replied.

She explained that she is into photography and the strike will give her time to focus on her passion.

She added that no one is serious about school in Nigeria anymore, not even the government, as a result, she said young people have to find other things asides school to keep themselves busy,

She said:

"Obviously, no one is serious with school in this country, including the government themselves. So, you just have to find something going on for yourself, something that works for you, and school is not it."

Man Returns Empty-Handed 42 Years After He Left Home In Search Of Greener Pastures (Photo)

A 94-year-old Kenyan man has been reunited with his family in Majengo village, Mwatate, Taita-Taveta County after being away for 42 years, IgbereTV reports.

Hiltan Kalugho says he left home for Tanzania in 1980 to look for fortune in the neighboring country, leaving behind his wife and seven children.

“I left home in search of greener pastures because I wanted a good future for my children. Unfortunately, I was unable to come back home because I did not get the money I expected to get to feed my family,” he told Sunday Nation.

According to the senior citizen, life at the border town of Mororoni where he first worked as a gemstone miner did not, however, turn out as he had envisioned, forcing him to try his luck at livestock herding.

“We did not get any breakthrough. What we used to get was only enough to sustain us,” said Kalugho.

By this time, Kalugho says, he had refused to remarry and was yearning to return home. It took a Kenyan pastor who had visited the area to share Kalugho’s story on social media and reunite him with his family.

Kalugho’s son, Mnjala Mwaluma, said after unfruitful searches for their father over the years, he was called by the pastor to inform him that he had been found in Tanzania.

"Recently I received a call from a pastor telling me my father had been traced in Tanzania. He came with him to Mombasa where we went to meet him,” said Mwaluma.

Kalugho returned home last week to find that his wife had died in 2007, as did his two other sons.

“I feel so bad that some of my family members are not here to witness the reunion. I had longed to see my wife and all my children." he said.

A preacher has claimed that men impregnating their wives, people taking medicines and chewing gum are all sin, IGBERETV reports.

The local preacher made the claim while preaching at a local bus park in one of the South-East states.

When confronted by passengers sitting in one of the buses, the preacher said he didn’t say that marriage is a sin, but impregnating your wife is.

He justified this by saying that not all women that have sex get pregnant and that men should ask for forgiveness after impregnating their wives because having children is "not necessary"

The local preacher also said taking medicine, chewing, wearing trouser, bleaching, wearing wrist watches and rings are all sin.

He further claimed that a man hugging a woman he’s not married to is a sin, as dowry must be paid before such can happen.

The preacher went on to ask everyone listening to him to repent and amend their ways as darkness is coming.
