Thats why i told you to be very careful with who you use as escrow. Only established and well known people that has actually acted as escrow countless times that you can use as Escrow not anybody that one strange moniker come here to vouch for after one spiritual Transaction that doesn't have prove.

You and I both know that you're not a new member here, your refusal to attach any number on your profile only raises more suspicion on your handle. Post your whatsapp number on your profile before the end of today or the profile gets blocked for good

Anybody that transacts with this handle without carrying out due diligence and insisting on escrow will have no one but themselves to blame
Someone here even brought this guy to my WhatsApp as escrow. He said the guy has proved himself and he wanted him to act as escrow between us. I quietly declined

Crime / Mechanic Defrauds Man Of N.9m, South Korean Visa Fee by jayceeking: 12:45pm On Oct 12, 2019
A mechanic, Chukwudi Okoli, has been arrested by the police in Lagos for allegedly parading himself as a visa agent and defrauding one Chibike Asochukwu of N900, 000.

Asochukwu, a businessman, had engaged Okoli sometime in 2018 to help him process a South Korean visa.

After agreeing on a fee of N1.3m, it was learnt that Asochukwu paid him N300, 000 to commence work.

The complainant reportedly paid additional N450, 000 in instalment and afterwards he could not reach Okoli on his mobile.

In April 2019, City Round gathered that he was able to get across to the suspect, who said he procured a Turkey visa instead and needed N150, 000 to perfect the processing.

Asochukwu was said to have paid the money yet did not get the visa, prompting him to report the case to the police.

He told the police that the deal was initiated at an auto spare parts shop in the Mushin area of the state where he and the suspect hooked up with each other.

He said, “I asked him how much it would cost to facilitate a South Korean visa and he said N1.3m. He initially collected N300, 000 from me in 2018. Later Mr Okoli collected N450, 000 which I paid in about four instalments. He later disappeared and his mobile line stopped going through.

“Around April this year, I got him on the phone and he told me he was able to get a Turkish visa. I agreed and paid N150, 000 he demanded towards the collection of the visa. He started telling me again that the visa will be out contrary to his claim that it was ready. Subsequently, I called him, but he didn’t answer my calls. I started suspecting that he is not a visa agent and that he defrauded me.”

Our correspondent learnt that Okoli was arrested on August 16, 2019, based on the complainant’s report.

He, however, said he collected N650, 000 from Asochukwu, claiming that the visa was stolen in his hotel room in Cotonou, Benin Republic, where he reportedly obtained the visa.

“I started processing another visa. His brother and I were charged N800, 000. We then travelled to Abuja. The visa is still under process. I am a mechanic,” he added.

The police consequently charged Okoli with fraud and he was arraigned on two counts before a magistrate, Mrs M.O. Tanimola.

The police prosecutor, Inspector Koti Aondohemba, told Ogba Magistrates’ Court that the offence was punishable under sections 287 and 314 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The charge read in part, “That you, Chukwudi Okoli, 39, sometime in March 2018, on Alhaji Amusa Street, Mushin, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did obtain the sum of N900,000 from one Chibike Asochukwu, with the pretence to procure him a South Korean visa, a representation you know to be false.”

But the defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge. He was granted bail by the magistrate in the sum of N200, 000 with two sureties in the like sum.

Business / Two-year-old Orders Furniture With Mother’s Phone by jayceeking: 12:30pm On Oct 12, 2019
Mum-of-two Isabella McNeil had no idea what happened until she was told her three-piece sofa was on its way.

When it comes to finding an interior designer to remodel your home, a two-year-old probably wouldn’t be the first person you turned to.

But that’s what one mum was left facing after her daughter accidentally ordered a £350 three-piece sofa from Amazon, UK Mirror reported.

MacNeil had been in the market for a new couch and browsed through options on her phone when her two-year-old, Rayna, said, “Mama, phone. Mama, phone.”

Isabella handed it over and thought nothing more of it until a few days later when she received a notification informing her that her sofa was on its way.

Shocked, the mum first thought she had bought the furniture in her sleep before remembering she had given her eldest daughter the phone and access to the open Amazon app.

The toddler had unwittingly pressed the 1-click buy it now button and just like that, a new three-piece tufted grey sofa was theirs, as reported by NBC San Diego.

Panicking, Isabella quickly began trying to figure out how to cancel the order but it was too late.

As little Rayna inspected her first big purchase, her mum was learning that there were fees for both restocking the piece of furniture and shipping it back to Amazon, which amounted to just under £150.

Reluctant to cough up the huge sum, Isabella went online to try and resell the couch at a smaller loss.

Her listing read, “Brand new in box. Ordered it by mistake, my toddler actually did… darn buy with 1-click on Amazon. Anyway, it’s more of a hassle to ship back, so I’ll take a loss.”

Luckily, Amazon kindly offered her a full refund, and even gave her the option of keeping the sofa or donating it.

Now being able to appreciate the funny side of the story, Isabella hoped her experience would act as a warning for other parents who hand over their phones to keep the little ones happy.

Make sure all of the apps are closed,” she said. “Make sure your passwords are fingerprint-locked. Make sure they don’t know your number password, because kids are a lot smarter than we think.

Crime / 45-year Old Remanded For 419 by jayceeking: 11:53am On Oct 12, 2019
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibadan zonal office, on Thursday, October 10, 2019, arraigned one 45-year-old Adekoya James Adeyinka before Justice Watilat Ibrahim of the Federal High Court 2, sitting in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

He was arraigned on a 23-count charge bordering on obtaining a sum of N3,000,000 (Three Million Naira) under false pretense.

The victim of his alleged fraud had petitioned the EFCC to accuse him of collecting the sum in tranches sometimes in 2016 under the pretence that he was expecting N60m (Sixty Million Naira) from Nigerite Company.

He claimed that the said N60m was awarded to him as damages against the company in a civil matter between them. The petitioner, however, said he later found out that the claim was false and that the accused only made it up to swindle him.

When the 23 counts were read to him, the defendant pleaded not guilty.

Prosecuting counsel, Chidi Okoli, thereafter prayed the court for a trial date and order to remand him in the Nigerian Correctional Service facility.

The presiding judge has adjourned the case to October 15, 2019 for trial and ordered that the defendant be remanded as prayed.

Sports / WWE Announces Braun Strowman Vs Tyson Fury, Brock Lesnar Vs Cain Velasquez For C by jayceeking: 4:55am On Oct 12, 2019
At today's Las Vegas press conference, WWE confirmed two more matches for their Crown Jewel event in Saudi Arabia on October 31 involving Brock Lesnar, Cain Velasquez, Braun Strowman and Tyson Fury.

WWE confirmed at their Las Vegas conference that Tyson Fury will have a match against Braun Strowman in Saudi Arabia at their Crown Jewel event on Halloween.

Brock Lesnar will also take on Cain Velasquez at the event. The two previously fought against each other in UFC for the UFC Heavyweight Championship at UFC 121 back in October 2010.

Fury was on Raw this week to talk about last week's SmackDown altercation with Strowman.

When The Gypsy King Fury appeared on Raw, he demanded an apology from The Monster Among Men for what happened on SmackDown's debut on Fox.
Strowman interrupted the promo and warned Fury against entering his squared circle. The undefeated boxer replied by telling Braun he hasn't won any world championships unlike him.

A brawl then erupted with security filled the ring. WWE superstars then spilled from the locker room in an attempt to calm things down as well as security was struggling to contain them both.

The Monster Among Men eventually headed backstage, where he declined to apologize during an interview, before rushing back to the ring where the brawl once again broke out.

Lesnar's rivalry with Velasquez goes back to 2010 when the two faced each other in UFC for the UFC Heavyweight Championship at UFC 121. Velasquez made shockwaves in the MMA world that night as he knocked Lesnar out in the first round.

He made shockwaves around the wrestling world when he debuted in WWE last Friday on SmackDown, attacking The Beast after he just beat Kofi Kingston for the WWE Championship.

He was accompanied by Rey Mysterio to the ring on SmackDown, and after The Master of the 619 appeared alongside him at the press conference, Mysterio could accompany Velasquez at Crown Jewel later this month as well.
