Good morning all,
Its amazing how we seem to forget about our future mothers
am referring to the over 200 girls kidnapped by extremist who claim to be Muslims
and start a religious war with the Christian and claim to be doing the will of God.
So happy that the said leader of the sect is dead but what about our girls, its now 3days that the leader is dead and nothing has. been said about the girls.. or have they been released? pls anybody with news on the girls should please tell us and bring us out of the dark... #shekau dead so can we have our girls back now....

Coldplay007: You are confusing this with Natforce.. Natforce is the illegal body that charges for uniform and application form.. this is FERMA/Sure-P taskforce..
no he isn't confusing it with Natforce he is right about it and even the said form for 20k was cancelled and we were offered another one for 5k with the sure-p/Ferma inscribed at the top. it was clearly written on it that not for sale but believe me I got mine for 2k because I know someone that got the form for me my friends got Thiers for 5k...... the only regret I have is I wasted my time and money..... since feb14 that I joined them.

even at the orientation camp in toll-gate we were told by our said head that you have to be a party member
bro am a victim of their sham cos I don't seem to understand why u will ask a jobless youth to get such money for feeding and allowance after posting, I was posted to somewhere in oshodi apapa expressway, but how will go there now, how will I feed and do other things.. come to think of it why is it Lagos state alone if really its not political it is called federal task force so we should be deployed to other states too, Abeg na for next year election dey plan am for thats why they waited till now to deploy tinking they can use that to win my vote. am unemployed but not foolish...

TheFury: There is a fine line between a novel and its big screen adaptation.
One can't get a complete represntation of the novel. That would be overreaching. That been said, this movie had some problems.
For a novel adaptation, the movie was to loose, rushed and weakly knitted. At some point the movie felt like a stage performance. The director shifted from scene to scene without taking into account that a lot of persons don't read. Ergo; a lot of persons had never read the novel. The set design and costumes were very nice. But the plot of the movie was weak. The Kano scene was unforgivable. Especially the riot scene. The same group of persons kept running around that one street to give it a chaotic look. That was strike two. The characters of Odenigbo(Chiwetel) and the actress that played Kainene were very good. They interepreted the xters from the novel quite well. Especially Kainene. Thandiw Newton had NO business being in this movie. Her performance hurt my eyes and sensibilities. Her igbo wasn't even passable and the Olanna from the novel is nothing like what the movie showed. American movie producers take time to train their actors to learn juijitsu, or russian or how to ride a bike. They commit to the art. They really could have taken their time with this movie. Also, in trying to avoid causing "outrage" cos of some of the ethno-religious themes of the story from the novel, they slashed and edited the movie heavily. The airport scene where Nnemeka got shot, the Nigerian soldiers were speaking french!......that scene was terrible. From the uniforms to Thandiow Newton's pronunciation of "kedu"(to think that she was even correcting someone else. The novel said they lived in Nigeria all their lives Olanna and Kainene, before going abroad for a few years to study. One's accent doesn't become so british) it was poor. The xter of Okeoma was the biggest misfire for me. The person in the movie was sort of heavy, slow, and very uncharismatic. They should have left him out altogether. Ugwu, Onyeka Owenu, and Zack Orji performances were okay however short. In all.....the movie wasn't bad(some folks complained that they didn't even know if it was about the civil war or just a story about people set around the war era) It isn't a spectacular movie tho....just somewhere in that area of ordinary that isn't exciting or distasteful. That's my take.
P.S: Genevive was just there, I think that's another area movie makers need to adress. This movie would have been a lot better if they took time to find suitable actors with talent(Nigerian or other Africans) to work on the roles. Ugwu isn't sexually drawn to his madam o.....he likes her as a gentle and kind woman. But from the book u will notice Ugwu is quite preoocupied with sexual exploration.
okay noted.... you right about the stage play... I tink it was talking about people set in the war era.
TV/MoviesHalf Of A Yellow Sun. by jaydee87(op): 7:57am On Sep 27, 2014
Good morning NLanders,
Guess most people must have watched the movie Half of a yellow sun, will really like us to kudos or criticise the producer, director, crews and actors of the movie.
For me the main act of the movie was on point, translated the role perfectly. even kainene's hubby too really tried. Ugwu too tried to be on point but I saw he had feelings for his madam thought he was actually going to have something with her but no he dint. The madam despite all the problem her in-law gave her she still stood her ground but when her man had sex with the girl the in-law brought she lost, defining a real Nigerian lady most our ladies always do that when her man do it.... lesson to learn from that ladies not always an eye for an eye....
I think kudos should be given to the writer of the story itself, av read the book and it was superb no wonder she was given awards for the book. the movie too was a yes for me cos we all can see the quality of the movie from the pictures to the translation of roles to words used and translation. pls this are the kind of movie we need.
NLanders lets hear your view on the movie too.....

CultureYOUTH "Nigerian Context" by jaydee87(op): 3:28pm On Sep 16, 2014
Youth is defined as the period between childhood and adulthood, the level of energy, freshness and immaturity associated with young people.
Back to the topic Youth the Nigerian context is defined as a period in your life when you have the wealth affluence and an atimes aspiration for a political post or ability to cause distability in the nation and get rewarded. reason behind my definition is based on the uprising in our country. Asari Dokunbo a Nigerian youth by all standard but came to limelight and accepted as a youth leader by the ogas @ the top because he was capable of causing turmoil. Shekau too a rebellious man turned youth all in the name of westernization, till date I wonder what books he read cos the one I read both Bible and Quran said seek knowledge and blessed is he that seek knowledge and passes it on to the next person.
Thank GOD for naira land I know u or your loyal will see this, so please dont mislead our people. You say you fighting the infidel but to me you killing our youths and future mothers, attacking people in the house of GOD, evening bombing a mosque too and you say u a Muslim.
We he real youths I think we are still children cos our leaders refuse to grow old. But I know soôn we will become square and break the cycle of old youth.

Growing up I used to sing a nursery rhyme 'parents listen to your children 2x, we are the leaders of tomorrow 2x, try to pay our school fees 2x and give us sound education 2x. most parents tried and provided education for the children so we could be leaders of tomorrow but our grand parents i.e our parents parent refuse to grow old, now our parents are planning of being leaders of tomorrow while we are leaders of net tomorrow.
