Hello All,

Praise the Lord with me my visa has been approved and I have been called to come and collect my passport.

I applied for a Post graduate certificate degree in George brown college. I already have a masters so was scared they were going to reject me cuz i was going for pgc. 2ndly I was changing field. my bsc is in chemical engineering, masters is project mgt yet the program i applied for is IT business analysis (lied abit that i have 1 years experience in it).
3rd challenge was my passport needed renewal which i found out when they told me submit my passport (luckily this ended up not being an issue. I just had to go to passport office sharp sharp it took like 5 days to get it.

I did my Medical and police report upfront and submitted with my application Online. The documents I submitted were what was asked for in the document checklist. The only extra thing I submitted was Statement of explanation (subtly highlighted why i changed my field).

Date of Online application: 17th Sept 2016
Date of Biometrics: 27th Sept 2016 (couldnt get time off work sooner)
Date of passport request: 28th Nov2016
Date of passport submission: 2nd Dec 2016
Passport ready for collection: 13th Dec 2016

Renew the passport and submit the two passport with a letter of explanation about the renewed passport. Congratulations.

Thank you. I went to renew the passort today. Paid 30k for sharp sharp processing they said i should come back tomorrow. I called vfs and they said I should send a mail to accra explaining the renewal and see what they say. My application was a CALA one. Do all go through ghana or is there another consulate I can contact as well?

congrats because pp request means approval in near time. go renew that passport before submitting.Embassy would not stamp your passport since your study duration is beyond the passport validity.if you go submitting it like that,they ll still forward you a mail for renewal which would be causing you unnecessary delay

I have an URGENT question please.

I applied for student visa and today my passport was requested. 1st of all can they reject your application after requesting passport?

2ndly, I have a dilemma, the passport i applied with expires feb 2017. I didnt know the passport has to be valid for the duration of my stay (1 Year). Will this be a problem or can I just renew my passport and submit the two to CIC to get my visa stamped?

thanks for your reply im a sis by the way . So i wait till i get the study permit before applying for co_op permit? hmm my course is due to start jan 2017 will there be time for that still as i imagine it will taake another 3 months or so?

Relax bro
You will have to apply for your co-op work permit when you get it at a ZERO cost. Its easy and straight forward.
Your study permit will not come with co-op permit

Ill advice you contact the school international office to advice you better.
Returning in May does that mean you will have to extend the stay of your visa? If so, u may have to contact CIC

Please advice me on this. I got my Canada visa and supposed to resume in January, I wont be able to resume till May.
Do I need to communicate with CIC about deferring my admission after obtaining the visa?
If i go to Canada in December and resume in school to deffer my admission and return to my current resident, does that have any negative implication when i intend to return in May ?

You can put your transcripts under LOA. All my academic docs went there then police clearance was under LOE along with SOP and others . You can also include yr employers letter there though for me, it was a study leave approval.

Hello All,

I am applying for Student Visa online. I did a questionnaire and was given a document checklist. This document checklist has no where I can upload my transcripts, letter from employer and upfront police report which i did. Been looking for how to add extra documents as im trying to make my process as fast as possible. Is there a way to go round this or can i still upload them later?

lol I hope the VO can forget the grades too. I am just worried of getting rejected because of changing field as they might think it is dodgy. Also the fact im going for PGC when i have a masters.

Young man, forget the grades you had look forward to the life you have ahead.
Your B.Eng has to be added because they have to see all that you been through as per studies. And about switching line why not since this isn't your 1st Msc and you studied in the UK and never ran away.
All the same, do things fast and appropriately and Trust God.

hmmm i was laying emphasis on @yemdogg airtight application as he stated. Meanwhile with your articulated statements,i am sorry don't write such on ur SOP cos ur purpose of visit would be questioned. Even with the change of career i have detected is another thing to be questioned which hardly fly.meanwhile @Churkie GCMS note he might have got from an online source,i would suggest if you are a 3rd class student, since adding transcript is not compulsory though necessary in trv application,just keep it away from ur application cos it gives room for the VO to see reason to refuse you.cos that above Gcms note seems to me like a 3rd class degree holder if i am right.

Is that directed to me? if so, my aim is to study and work there also to change my field. a school has already given me offer letter. the course is not related but im claiming work experience. Please re-read my initial post to understand better thanks

Hello all I am new to nairaland i was adviced to come here for advice and info.
Basically i have been offered a place in a school in ontario to study Information systems business analysis graduate certificate for Jan 2017. My issue is that what iv studied previously is not related, also i have a masters. My undergrad is chemical engineering and a masters in engineering project management, both done in the UK. My claim to change my field is that i found what i had studied was an already oversaturated market in nigeria and i had lost interest in pursuing a career in that field. I am also claiming that i was lucky to get employment in a business analyst role and even though i started as an intern, i found that i took to the field really well and have progressed to an entry level permanent position so I really want to grow and develop myself in that field and have an international perspective of the field.

Please I need to know if this reason is good enough as a reason to be switching field and doing a pgc when i have a masters in something else. I am also thinking of saying my project mgt masters can still come in handy in terms of planning, time mgt, leadership and co.

Please I need your advice and suggestions. thank you. happy to be part of the family.

Thank you for your response. The issue is that i have a 3rd in the undergrad but did well in the masters so thats why i was thinking of including it. What do you think?

You could have silenced your master in the UK. Removed it from your application completely to save you of the stress. I also have a good master degree but I didn't include it anywhere in my application for master in canada application. Just pretend you don't have a master, things will be easier for you and you don't need to think about what the VO will say
