air conditioning - accord 08 Ac is sharper and more durable

electrical system - almost same

fuel economy - if both cars ate in their best form, the Honda consumes less

interior - Honda of course

exterior - same with interior

comfort - accord 08 is far more comfortable

handling - accord 08 has a better handling

after use value - Camry 08 is a better sale after use. but this purely depends on how u used ur car

I guess this sums it up. Most of my research says same with the points you highlighted. I guess I will go for the Accord. Thanks for the useful information.

I also noticed most car rating agencies always pick the Honda ahead of the Toyota in their overall rating.

Are we now assuming most Nigerians are only following the bandwagon rather than doing their own thorough research?

Most of my personal research shows that the Honda is a better vehicle.

If that is the case, I believe that the demand for Toyota is what makes its price higher than the Honda in Nigeria, rather than it being a more superior vehicle.

Get the Honda accord. It has a much better AC system. The compressor on that Camry is a piece of shit.

I am quite surprised a lot of people on Nairaland are rooting for the accord. But in real life, people will tell you the Camry is a better vehicle. They say Honda has too much wahala. In reality, I have checked most mechanic workshops and still found out that you find more Toyota vehicles compared to Honda vehicles at their workshops.

Great car.
Sporty, fast, roomy, beautiful dashboard, sexy body, great sound system, Girls Magnet

What to watch out for
Power steering rack/pump leak
Roof liner falling
Condensed radiator (probably due to water used or dirty coolant used over the years)
All these are subjected to high mileage Accords like from 150k Miles
EX-L trim is best but skip the navigation model if you can. The screen do eventually burn out and unnecessarily expensive to replace as it serves not much purpose here in Nigeria.

Trust we are all staying safe.

I am interested in getting a car soon and after so much research, I narrowed my options to two Sedan vehicles of the same year - The Honda Accord 2008 (Evil Spirit) and Toyota Camry 2008 (Muscle) model.

However, I am biased for one compared to the second.

Based on my readings, I realised Honda is a flashy car, have one of the best aesthetics with her interiors, it runs pretty fast and has a good engine. However, the Camry is not as fast, less aesthetics with her interior but is reliable.

I also got to know that both cars are fuel efficient and have a low build compared to the Big Daddy Camry. While there are many other differences and similarities, I am interested in what the Nigerian users of these two cars have to say.

@Honda Accord users: What have been your experiences using this car? Is the car worth the money? How often do you visit the mechanic? What are the pros and cons of getting the car?

@Toyota Camry users: This car is costlier than the Accord. Is it worth paying the extra penny? What is its performance level? Is it durable? What are the pros and cons of both cars?

@all: I am a first time car user and would want to go for a very good car that can commute me in and around Lagos and maybe outside Lagos once in a while.

NB: If there is a similar thread on this, kindly share so that I can also read through. Most of my research are foreign based, I need a platform where I can hear what Nigerians have to say about these two cars.

My findings show that older series of the Accord (2007 downwards) are the ones experiencing such.

Such problems had been corrected since the introduction of the 8th generation Accord (2008 upwards).

I might be wrong but you can share if you have a contrary opinion to the above.

So I am considering buying the 2007 Accord.

I have read through the comments and must admit that it is an eye opener, especially for new car drivers.

Since the last post was made in 2018, I would like to hear further reviews about this Honda.

I am thorn between buying the 2006 Accord, Camry or Corolla models.

As a Nigerian driver, what are your views on the three cars?

Which is the best for everyday consumption?

I am well aware of their individual advantages, but what Toyota fans never tell you is the disadvantage of getting a Toyota.

Can we have more discussions on the pros and cons of these cars?

These will further educate us on the overall better car.

I also had some doubts about the initial January 8 resumption, considering that the first batch of trainees would only have gone half way with their training...I was wondering how possible it'd be to run two trainings concurrently with the two batches at different stages of training. The human and other resources that would likely be stretched beyond normal etc.
My take is either they had plans to make it work but had a change of heart or the initial mails were just to calm the frayed nerves following the 'mail glitch' incidence.
All in all that's an extra six weeks for us to wait and more importantly take advantage of.

Please are we mandated only to wear either white, or sky blue shirts and suits and either grey, black or navy blue pants? The footwear also, must it only be black?
