Nah. If for anything, NYSC is a very credible source of home tie. All you need to do is simply say you plan to come back to "serve your nation" after you're done with your masters and there you have it! If not that she's trying to leave that part out of her application, all she will have to do is mention that in her SOP. Fresh graduates are granted Study Visas without NYSC certificate every time. Don't nobody in CIC care about that green and white parade thing we do for one year after school. sidnigga: |
@blink6 I think it might be a little too early to start bombarding them with emails. We only just did medicals last week and got responses faster than usual. Also, they probably have a timeline for these things so I think waiting for a few days more might be the best bet. (Let someone not look too eager. I mean we are but let's hide it small) |
From the trend here, paper route can be slightly slower than Online route. Let's see what happens this week. Keep the faith! Kabosky1956: |
Hmmm 10 weeks is quite sometime. I read somewhere on this thread that someone physically went to the office to seek answers and he got them. Not sure if you can do that. Did you use online or paper route? Anyway, just wait this week and see how everything turns out. You are actually over due but I'm sure you will hear from them soon. Kabosky1956: |
Lol just to let you all who are scared that the embassy will check your account from time to time; They won't and they don't. It is against your right as a customer of a bank. You have a non-disclosure agreement as a customer. Nobody, not even your spouse, can ask for the details in your account. This can only be breached if it is a court order. You can actually sue someone for that. All the embassy does is ask if everything in your statement is correct as at when you submitted. The bank staff says yes (or no, as the case may be) and it ends there. (I'm guessing this is why they ask for other financial evidence like properties, school fees receipt, etc just to give them extra proof that you can support yourself while in Canada) So that guy who was wondering if he should invest his money while he waits for a response from the embassy, by all means do. |
Going to Toronto first. Let's talk in private? Tsola6: |
Yes I'm going to BC. Should leave 31st. How about you? Tsola6: |
Thank you Tnuola! We will congratulate you this week. Keep calm! :* tnuola: |
Passed my medicals too! Did it on 11th. That was really fast! Thank God! Consultants Practice, way to go! |
Kabosky1956:Hey, I think 9 weeks is a long time regardless of the paper route. You might want to e-mail them to find out the status if you don't hear from them by next week. The email address is accra.immigration@international.gc.ca. |
Got there at about 9am. Wasn't with anyone. Went there alone. Well there was someone waiting for me outside the building if that's what you mean. blink6: |
Oh yes I was there on Thursday. Didn't notice any "chinko" guy though :p Hopefully by Wednesday we will get a positive update on CIC account. Fingers crossed till then. blink6: |
Aunties in the house should not answer? Anyway, I think you might be able to go ahead. On my passport, my name is spelled Ufoma but on all other certificates, Ufuoma. I've never had any issues with embassies. But, maybe luck? I don't know. sheriph: |
That's great! @HudsonBanks I hope you get your good news soon. If you've been following, CIC have given responses to applications submitted on the 21st-about 23rd, thereabout so 28th should be soon. No need to worry just yet, or at all anyway. All the very best to you and your "Mrs" ![]() Good morning everyone. I'm new on this thread. I'm sort of a Canadian citizen in the making (applied for FSWP) so I arranged for my soon to be "Mrs" to go do her masters in Canada so we can start our lives asap without worrying about distance and after initial disappointments God smiled on us with a fully funded masters program for her at the University of Calgary for January intake. We've applied for TRV but still waiting on medicals, time is running out but I refuse to lose hope. I pray the Almighty grants us all our heart desires and more! Please add us to the list: Applied October 28, University of Calgary, online application, Postgraduate.[/quote] |
Exactly what I was thinking! Plus, what hospital do you plan using? And did you book an appointment? redribs: |
No, you need to have an account to get a PTA with the bank. You will need to show proof that you are travelling and will need it. Say, your International Passport with a visa in it. double08: |
Thank you @realone01 ![]() Thanks @redribs. Thinking of going on Thursday or Friday. Wonder the excuse I will give to them in the office. Thanks @Joe980 and @anugoson God will answer your prayers. Amen |
Remember that day that I was only "practising" how I will share my own good news. Today is my day. I have just being called for my medicals. Words cannot express. I am still actually in shock. When I saw that mail from CIC, oh boy, I never thought my heart could skip as much as it did. See ehn, I want to say a big, big thank you to all of you. I did my application myself, wrote 4 pages of SOP, forgot to put my pay stubs, did not notarize one document, did not pay tuition but my God still favored me. He that did it for me will do it for you too in Jesus' name. God bless all of you. I applied on 21st October, did my Biometrics on 23rd. May God gift us with many more good news by His grace. |
Congrats @redribs I always admired your faith, always one of those very positive people on here. It paid off, congrats! |
Hello, I think you should run a google search. Something like "colleges in Canada offering **** undergraduate courses". You should get a lot of information on colleges you can select from. Then check their websites for requirements. Seeing that you are going for undergrad, I think a good WAEC result will go a long way and a good essay too. The processing time depends on the school and they usually have deadlines. But apply early! You might want to apply to at least two schools to avoid any disappointment. When you get your admission, you can start finding out how to apply for a study permit but one bridge at a time ![]() freshskillz: |
I'm going to BC ![]() Simon Fraser is a top university in Canada so way to go. It's also quite affordable as you rightly said. Tsola6: |
Did you make a copy of your passport data page and did you submit it online? Or you didn't at all. You do not need up submit the hard copy passport if you went the online route. The photocopy is enough. veron12: |
Keep positive guys... Believe ![]() |
Just got back from Night of Worship, had a great time in His presence and I prayed for everyone hopeful for something, anything. TRV, Medical call, Admission, School choice, anything. God who did it before will do it again for you, for us. Amen ![]() |
Just thought to drop a word of encouragement to those who have recently been delayed: Nothing takes Him by surprise. He saw it coming and let it happen for a reason. Do not be discouraged or feel let down. "Better is the end of a matter than the beginning". Just say a simple prayer of gratitude to Him. He will take all the glory in the end. Good night ![]() |
Hi, You cannot send your transcript yourself. You should ask your school to do that for you as it has to be in a sealed envelope addressed to the school in Canada but first, ask the college what exactly it is they require. Sunny4Gold: |
Why are you so quick to update the bad news? Mcjimmy: |
This SOP is long and I struggled to read it. But I guess you already have your admission? So that's what matters. castiello: |
You're welcome. You can leave it if that's the case. But the validate button is at the top of the page. All the best with your brother's app. MrsM: |
Hi, Personally, I put all my academic certificates and other extras that weren't in the checklist under the Letter of Explanation part. You can upload them there with your police certificate too. Okay first, have you completed the questionnaire and already been provided with a checklist? (I'm guessing you're applying online) If you have the checklist, there's an optional part where you can find the Schedule I form. It is just above the Letter of Explanation. Please fill it. There's been a lot of debate about whether or not but just to be safe. I hope this helps. MrsM: |
