Nigerian playwright, dramatist and actor, Prof Akinwumi Ishola has died, aged 79. Ishola, who wrote the popular play, Efunsetan Aniwura, when he was a student of the University of Ibadan in 1961, died in Ibadan after age-related ailment according to a family source. “Baba has gone,” said the source, who preferred anonymity because he was not authorised to speak on behalf of the family. “He had been sick for some time and was getting better. But this morning, he died peacefully. He left a good legacy and his life was a good example for mankind.” A friend of the deceased and chairman of Kakanfo Inn and Conference Centre, Dr Lekan Are, who also confirmed the demise of the professor of Yoruba and writer of several Yoruba plays, praised Akinwunmi for his passion for Yoruba culture, language and tradition, adding the deceased wife called him early on Saturday to inform him of the actor’s death. Are said, “When his wife called me this morning, and told me that Ishola had died, I was shocked because I had visited him two weeks ago, when he told me that he was getting better. We had a vibrant discussion. He was excited to see me again. “This is why I was taken aback by his death. He was a brilliant individual who made Yoruba history popular beyond Africa. http://punchng.com/renowned-playwright-akinwunmi-ishola-is-dead/

I use Nokia 6 and I can tell you the phone is beast. I have upgraded my OS to Android 8.0 Oreo. Comparing this brand with Tecno is just a great insult. |

So happy to receive the upgrade notification. But hey, 1748.8mb? ![]()

Who is Speed Darlington please? We don't know him here in North Korea |
Cilic made it a worthy final. Fed didn't drop any set before the final. He made him dropped two sets in the final. As for Federer, he did not even need this final to prove he's the greatest. He has done that over and over again. More slams on the way for him. |
These days, Students' Union leaders are more corrupt than the so called political class. Gone are the days of when students influence national policies. If you don't know. The Ibadan-Ife expressway was dualised because of the agitation of Great Ife Students. I have also read about one "Ali must go" struggle that led to the removal of the then minister of education. I still remember how Akinola Saburi, the former president of OAU Students' Union testified at the election tribunal when PDP claimed to have had over 30000 votes on OAU campus, even though students were on break. It was rumoured that he was later offered a political appointment but he rejected it. Today, we now have political sycophants at the helm of affairs of our Students'Unions or SUGs as the case may be. This is one of the reasons why I won't take the #NotTooYoungToRule campaign serious. |

I had this discussion with a friend just yesterday. Our argument was between Fela and Gani Fawehinmi. We both later settled for Gani because you can easily make him a role model. No one prays to have a child who smokes and lives like Fela. But in all, they are the best and greatest Nigerians ever. That aside, some names should be on the list. Names like Jaja Wachukwu Aminu Kano Funmilayo Ransom-Kuti Anthony Enahoro Adegoke Adelabu And few others |
God! How did we get here? |
Ambo! |
darmhey:Lol. Leave him jare. Like say no be the same OAU wey we go |
So you guys still believe those craze Chinko numbers? |

Oprah’s speech on Golden Globe tonight inspired me to post this. “Dr.Med.Dr” Francis Andy Fakoya of Anatomy Department OAU Ife-Ife,Nigeria , you destroyed many young lives through your sexual harassments. As that was not enough, you used your power as a teacher to Medical Students, to fail any student that refused you. Some of the student victims repeated the class, some like me were lucky to have just a resit, while some were thrown out of Medical school. I chose to say NO to you and you failed me in Anatomy 2 times (Part 2 and Part 3), which are the only failures I have on my transcript!!! I remember your words to me both times, a day before both exams, “Agree to sleep with me or you fail and resit the exam”. Wherever you are tonight (St George’s University, Medical School, Caribbean Island), for all the lives you affected negatively, TIME’S UP!!! https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10156210146825815&id=580380814 Lalasticlala

Psychodavidovic:Hot 5 doesn't support 4G LTE |
£15million for the guy isn't a bad business. |
Will be cool to have the bothie feature of Nokia 8 on Nokia 6. I would have preferred a front-mounted camera. The Snapdragon 630 chipset is fantastic. In all, the new Nokia 6 will be a fantastic midrange phone if all these features are present. |
Nokia 2 supports 4G |
Mad design |
asuustrike2009:Nigerians are not the only users of phone. We're talking about global brands here, not chinkos. |
Popularity is one thing, but winning people's hearts is a completely different task. It's now time to look back at 2017 and see which phones you guys liked the best. We'll rank the phones that got the most favorites by the registered users on our site. The list features 9 flagships, which was to be expected - high end devices cause most people to fall in love with them. Yet one midranger from a beloved brand managed to do the seemingly impossible and snatch second spot. The Xiaomi Mi 6 snatched the 10th place in the list. Fantastic specs, dual camera, and impressive looks are what attracted many of you. When the phone arrived in the first half of 2017, it was a statement from Xiaomi that the company is ready to fight it out with the big boys. The ugly ducklings LG G5 and LG V20, were quickly followed by the beautiful swans LG G6 and LG V30, sitting in 8th and 9th, LG was the first to introduce the tall display trend with the G6; then the company had six months to perfect a phone, to equip it with Snapdragon 835 and to create the V30. Next come the Nokia 8 and the Samsung Galaxy S8+, while the OnePlus 5 matches its name with a 5th place. The phone was quickly discontinued to make room for OnePlus 5T, but the new device didn’t have make it to the chart. The Galaxy Note8 snatched fourth, being beaten to a podium spot by the Sony Xperia XZ Premium and its 4K screen. The Nokia 6 got second place - an amazing achievement for the only midranger in the table. The Samsung Galaxy S8. No wonder so many fans picked this phone - truly curved screen with tall aspect ratio, superb camera, and sexy looks. All hail the most loved phone of 2017! 10. Xiaomi Mi 6 9. LG V30 8. LG G6 7. Nokia 8 6. Samsung Galaxy S8+ 5. OnePlus 5 4. Samsung Galaxy Note 8 3. Sony Xperia XZ Premium 2. Nokia 6 1. Samsung Galaxy S8. https://m.gsmarena.com/top_10_fan_favorite_phones_2017-amp-28840.php |
