One of the residents called a lawyer and noticed many discrepancies in the letter the “officers” came with

1. EFCC does not deal with magistrate court, so that letter is obviously 100% fake

2. The suit number on the letter says FHC. Which means federal high court!

EFCC actually deals with federal high court, but how can the heading say magistrate court and the suit number say federal high court. The lawyer knew it was fake and immediately called the real EFCC

Once you have gotten your visa and traveled, you can do a change of course in the school.

But mind you, for you to study a course like cyber security at masters level, you need to have a Bsc in related field such as Computer science, Information technology, information systems etc

VO’s always have problem issuing visas to people who finished secondary school a long time ago and are just going for Bsc out of the blues.

It’s been 13 years since you were out of high school.

They would ask you what have you been doing since then

And why did it just dawn on you to get a Bsc

You can try your luck though

There is no harm in trying

The major question they would ask you is, why another masters? You should be able to defend yourself well and give a convincing reply.

There is nothing wrong in going for another masters degree. Just have a solid and convincing reason why you need another masters and not PhD

VO’s are human too, they would just wonder why. Nothing more

Also, it’s always good not to withhold any pertinent information from DS-160 form.

If they start interviewing you and drilling you with questions and ask you what you have been doing since you got your Bsc. You might forget and mistakenly mention that you got your masters, then you got a job, bla bla bla...

The VO would then ask why didn’t you list your Masters in your educational background. And further questions would be asked which may lead to denial.

So fill in your masters and attend your interview with full confidence!

However, I don't have a current GRE or any test, as d school that accepted me waived GRE. I wrote GRE in d past but has expired. If I now tell d vo dt I applied to 4 schools and I don't have a test score to show, won't that backfire?

I'm seeking advice from anyone here that has an answer to my situation. Secondly, will it be of any help if I mention dt I have an expired test score?

GRE scores last for 5 years, so check the date and know whether it’s still active.

Once a request has been made for recall of the funds, the funds will be placed on hold in your account until you can provide proof that the funds are actually meant for you.

Furthermore, if the person who sent the funds goes to the court and obtains an affidavit, the bank will reverse those funds from your account one hand.

The person can also petition the police if you have made use of the funds and now that they have started tracking BVN and NIN it's just a matter of time before you land in Jail.

So my brother wise up and learn that crime doesn't pay.

Someone said it is only those who studied STEM related courses that would be able to apply for Optional Practical Training (OPT) extension and in future H1-B visa

So what are the benefits of studying non-STEM courses ??

I am asking because my younger sister wanna study criminal justice and I’m advising her to go for a STEM course to be on the safe side in legalizing her stay after studies.

That’s my fear too. The VO might think I’ll follow my brother path and that is bothering me.

I don’t know if they have a technique to detect if I say I don’t have any siblings abroad.

I heard they always try to run the parent name in the database to see if it brings a match. Not sure if that’s true tho.

I’m just trying to get opinions here to see if anyone has been in this kind of situation and what they did in this scenario.

They have records of everything. And whatever you fill in your application, their database will search for anything matching it with other profiles.

For example, a guy in my area travelled to US in 2018 with visiting visa and he did not return

The address he filled in his application was their family house address

His younger brother recently got denied of an F1 visa. He used the same family house address in his application unknowingly. When they pulled up his profile, his brothers profile came up too. Since they both had same address.

The VO told him that his brother travelled on a visiting VISA which was valid for 6 months and didn’t return. The younger brother was shocked how they knew because he didn’t mention it in his application that he had a relative in USA.

The VO denied his F1 visa based on 2 things
-Withholding pertinent information from DS-160 application form. (not revealing he has a relative in USA)
-No strong ties (he might abscond like the brother)

If I would advise you, in the place of parent, fill in your uncle or something else

Think about this, what of orphans wey no get parents nko? What would dey fill in that place??

This is to let you know that, that field of parents on DS-160 form is totally irrelevant. And you can put anything there.

Your GRE and GPA is okay, don’t let your bro’s case jeopardize your study dream.
