yeah, highly likely ur batt is full, however is your inverter off?..that voltage is a lil too high for a resting battery voltage. @ 7.15pm, i expect to see 13v and below especially if batts are connected to inverter.
you mentioned hving a 55inch tv, what is the consumption of that tv?

send a pic of the battery specs, where float and absorb voltage settings are written, i have a hunch, your charge controller may be set wrongly to charge your batts with higher voltage than the batt needs, this will end up frying/killing the battery under 6months
even LONG batter with 14.4v to 15v absrob and 13.5v to 13.8v float voltage quickly drops to 13.1v/13v resting voltage and dips to 12.8v when 5kva inverter is turned on
My inverter was off when I took the picture, but now it’s On and in use.

*Please where do I see the float and absorb voltage settings

Then you can not attain 29v on that. Go by the chart for correct voltage.
I just checked the resting state now

It is 26.4V

Please and please never disconnect your battery from the charge controller while it is still connected to solar panels. This is the only place I see where they it will not fry your controller. From my small knowledge it will fry it sharp sharp.

Wait till night fall and go view your voltage then, at least no normal charge from solar. Also ensure you do it when electric charging too is not ongoing, meaning when there is no light.

I hope this helps. For now just save the chart and refer back to it from time to time to draw up your own battery profile.
I just checked now being 7:15pm

The current is 0 amp and the battery voltage is displayed as 26.4

So can I say it is fully charged ?

Don't trust voltage readings while charge is going on. The current passing through the batteries actually distorts this. Once you disconnect and allow to settle (that's the rested state the other guy with the chart talked about) you'll see they will drop to their real level. And I can guarantee you it won't be more than what the chart says.
please how can I disconnect, so I can view the rested voltage of the battery to ascertain if it’s fully charged

I don’t think he will do that

because I just checked my charge controller and it’s showing 28.4 V, meaning the battery is full.

A lot of things could cause this, a few below:

1. The battery did not fully charge or did not charge at all by solar, what's your current reading on your solar charging system

2. Your load demand is more than what is generated by solar

3. Your load demand was high enough to exhaust the current that has been put into the battery by solar after sunset

4. Your battery is bad and no longer accepting charge.

You will need to provide more information about your set-up in other to advice better.

At 22.5v your batteries are practically empty - zero to very little charge left hence the inverter safety cutoff was invoked.

The charge voltage scale is not from 0v to 28.4v but rather from about 23v to 29.6v for most common lead acid batteries.

Apart from charge rate issues, it appears you may also have a undersized water tank (battery bank) as well.

A member of the house will reach out soon to you - you will likely need a full system audit and them progress it from there.

If you gave details like number and size of solar panels you have, type and brand of charge controller, number and capacity and age of batteries, what watts all the appliances you mentioned you use at home consume, it would make it easier for anyone to help you.
So if 22.5V is very low

Please think of your batteries as a tank of water of which you have only one tank.

The tank water level is the amount of charge in the batteries.

If the amount of water leaving the tank is higher than that the rate of filling the tank, then the tank of water (battery) will go empty and can no longer supply water.

The amount of water leaving the tank is what your house loads/appliances are consuming.

The amount of solar panels and/or the available PHCN hours taken with your inverter charge capability is the fill rate of the tank.

In your case the fill rate is very likely lower than your consumption so your water tank is not getting full leaving you stranded at the end of the day.

You really must get some basic knowledge of your back up power system otherwise installers will be using you to eat - there are many more charlatans than honest professionals so the odds are stacked against you if you do not arm yourself with knowledge.

If I were to continue the analogy, your solar panels and/or charge controller are undersized or not optimally deployed to meet your needs - this is why you see some roofs with just 4 panels on their roof while the next house has 24 panels mounted - varying needs - it is not just enough to have solar panels mounted - are they of sufficient capacityhuh If you have just 4 panels where your house needed 12 panels, you will come up very short!!!

I fear I preach too much, I will let a better qualified member of the house give you specific actionable steps.
The only appliances that were on was a 55 inches TV, one LED light, a celling fan and a small table top fridge

The inverter was on from 10AM in the morning to 4pm in the afternoon, then PHCN light was returned by 4pm till about 6pm, then after they took the light by 6pm, I switched to inverter again from 6pm, but it started beeping low battery by 11pm in the night

The loads on it was not much, only what I mentioned above. Tv, small fridge, one led light, and ceiling fan.

Meanwhile, solar panels was charging the system throughout the morning, afternoon and evening.

And when it started beeping low battery by 11pm, I checked the charge controller and it was showing BAT 22.5 V

And from what my installer said BAT 28.4 V means battery is fully charged

So if the charge controller was showing BAT 22.5 V, doesn’t that indicate I still got a lot of battery juice left

What is charged is the battery. The source of charging can either be solar or through AC (NEPA) or other sources like wind. Most inverters comes with inbuilt chargers, inverters don't have batteries in then, you buy the battery separately.
But my inverter, a microtek 2.3 kva was beeping red light and saying low battery yesterday night

But my Zedix battery must have not been low, because solar charged it in the morning afternoon

So why was it beeping low battery ?

You mean ur batteries are not connected to ur inverter? Please I don't get you. Why will ur inverter be off if u have batteries that are full ? I had an issue with my light (NEPA),for close to 2months now,but since I am on solar,I still enjoy light and have not bothered to fix the issue with NEPA.
You may have to call ur installer to check ur connections.
So the solar also charges your inverter ?

I thought all inverters has inbuilt batteries that can only be charged by Nepa light

We have not had light in our Area in the last 24 hours

My inverter just tripped off due to low battery

Meanwhile, my 2 Zedix batteries are fully charged, because solar charged them in the afternoon.

Now my inverter is off, and I’m in darkness, with 2 full Zedix batteries

This inverter/solar stuff doesn’t make sense

Please, what’s the solution to this ?

hey guys, Nepa has been giving us 247 light since the last 3 days, I want to put off solar charging so it won’t over charge the battery because I’ve not used inverter in about 3 days

Or should I leave the solar panels to continue charging the battery, because I believe the battery must have been full and even over charged by now

Does that mean once my inverter battery runs out, I’ll be in total blackout ? Since it’s the Nepa light that is charging the inverter

Is there anyway my installer can reconnect the setup in a way that the Solar panels charges the inverter too?

There are no disadvantage really. But normally a 2.3 or 2.5kva should use two 200ah 24v battery. Some people still use two 100 ah battery but it won't last long as much as a two 200ah.

For me I use four 200ah batteries. The inverter installer interlooped the first two batteries ontop in series, then the second two batteries below in series then paralleled them altogether. That means it charges them two by two. I now still connected it to a super charger ( though it is not really necessary). But I always supercharge it once in a while to maintain the battery from ever going low.

I hope you understand or this make sense to you. Mine last for minimum 10-14 days without NEPA. Cause I don't use it for fridge or Ac or pumping machine. My total load is not even up to 400w or 500w ( few bulbs, laptop, TV, game, air coolant (once a while),phone charger ) that is all.
And most time all my appliances are not on at the same time.

My next plan is to get DC appliances, I heard that is the next way to enjoy electricity if one wants to live an OFFGRID life in Naija.

Microtek 2.3kva inverter is awesome. I will advice you use it with a 200ah battery (at least 4 batteries).

You won't regret it. From experience I was using a 2.5kva mercury modified wave inverter before.
Mercury inverter is good if you want cheap modified inverter, I had to add a super charger to charge it faster.

But microtek is a better because it is pure sine wave, it doesn't spoil if there is a power surge unlike mercury. It charges faster too. Most people aren't aware because of the brand name.

Now it's even too late to mix it with same Zedix. Mixing it with another battery type will even make for a very shorter failure time.
