Cardi & Meek Mill reportedly recorded a song together amid their ongoing beef with Nicki Minaj! Here’s what we know about the rumors!

Both in feuds with Nicki Minaj, Cardi B and Meek Mill have reportedly joined forces in more ways than one. According to some insider secrets, the two rappers may have collaborated musically together, which would be a huge slap in the face to Nicki. Meek was inspired by working on things with Drake and he feels like if he and Drake can set aside their differences and work together, then maybe he can help Cardi and Nicki do the same. Meek wants to play peacemaker in this hip hop war because since his time in jail, his perspective on everything has changed, he wants to help now.”

Former minister of Aviation and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Femi Fani-Kayode, has stated that removing President Muhammadu Buhari from office is not the solution to the problems bedeviling Nigeria.

An elderly woman and her son were rescued after their truck plummeted into the water near 200 block N. Marina drive around 1pm today. Citizens, LBFD lifeguards along with TowBoatUS and DivePlus helped with water rescue. Both driver and passenger were released on scene with no injuries. It was reported the driver had a possible foot cast that got stuck in the gas pedal. (Video by Captain Jeff Jones)

Man spends 2 years in prison after he rushed his neighbor to the hospital


Chidiebere Onwumere has regained his freedom 24 months after he was wrongly imprisoned for allegedly causing the death of one Uzochi Chinyere, his neighbor who he rushed to the hospital, following a drug overdose in Abia State.

In a recent interview with AFN, on Tuesday, while recounting the whole ordeal, he said in quote,


“I got home that day, around 6pm, only to see my neighbour lying helpless and I decided to assist her to the hospital with the help of other neighbors.

A pastor who resides within the neighborhood, took us with his car to a nearby hospital called Shiloh hospital, where the doctor asked us to deposit N5000 to conduct a test that would determine exactly what was wrong with her.

I and some other neighbours contributed the money. When the result came out, the doctor told us that she was on substance overdose and was knocked out by the illegal substance. He assured us that she would be well again.

However, the next morning, Mr Promise, the deceased’s elder brother, arrived the hospital and insisted on taking her away to another hospital against the doctor’s advice.



After a few days, he came back to our compound and took me to World Bank police station, Aba, where he handed me over to the police, claiming that I beat his sister to death.

Despite pleas that my hands were clean and that there was a doctor’s report stating that their sister died of substance abuse, Promise insisted and filed a murder charge against me.

I was arraigned on suit no. U/520c/2016 and remanded in prison custody since June 2016. It was one Barrister Jerry Uzosike that God used to vindicate and bring me out of prison.”

A young Nigerian man who hails from Imo state, identified as Rafael Onyeka, who got engaged to his white fiancee on August 11, is set to tie the knot with her.

The obviously elated groom took to social media to share several pre-wedding photos of himself with his fiancee.

The pair is set to get married on August 18, in Helsinki, Finland. As at the time of filing this report, the nationality of his bride is not known.

WTF?! Zimbabwean man sneaks into hospital ward to make love with sick wife


A Zimbabwean man has got himself into trouble after he sneaked into a hospital ward just to make love with his ill spouse.

The said incident took place at The Masvingo Provincial Hospital around 03:00am – the man, who is a prominent restaurant owner in the city was reported to have engaged in a brawl of words with the hospital’s nurses in the middle of the night and insisted that he be allowed to visit his wife in the female ward.

He eventually had his way in and went on to have sex with his wife, in the presence of 10 other patients in the ward.

The Medical Director of the hospital, Amadeus Shamu, confirmed the incident to iHarare and said that the hospital has since instituted investigations

Shamu said:

“It was around 3am that patients who were disturbed by the noise coming from the ecstatic couple reported to the nurses that there was sex in the ward. The nurses summoned a security guard who got the man out of the ward.”

The investigation also revealed that the wife had told the nurses that her husband was abusive and she might be beaten if she refused to accept his sexual overtures.

“I could not refuse to have sex with him because I could have been beaten in the presence of patients because he is very violent,” the woman told the nurses.

An 11-year-old hacked a government website and changed election results at DEFCON



Last Friday, an 11-year-old apparently managed change election results within 10 minutes. While at this year’s DEFCON, he and many other children were offered the chance to hack into a mock-up of a Secretary of State website, and did so with alacrity.

According to DEFCON spokespeople, the kids were offered 13 replicas of Secretary of State websites, with Florida being the first. 11-year-old Emmett Brewster was able to hack it inside 10 minutes.


 
That’s…wow, what the heck was I doing at 11?

Emmett was one of about 50 children between the ages of 8 and 16 who took part in a kid-specific workshop at this year’s hacker conference. According to Quartz, the kids were able to manipulate various things on the mock websites, including vote counts, candidate names, and party names.

The National Association of Secretaries of State, the organization for public election officials, also issued a statement on the hack:

Our main concern with the approach taken by DEFCON is that it utilizes a pseudo environment which in no way replicates state election systems, networks or physical security. Providing conference attendees with unlimited physical access to voting machines, most of which are no longer in use, does not replicate accurate physical and cyber protections established by state and local governments before and on Election Day. We are also concerned that creating “mock” election office networks and voter registration databases for participants to defend and/or hack is also unrealistic.

That seems a little fussy, doesn’t it? Precisely replicating the physical environment of a voting booth isn’t exactly what these exercises are about, and focusing on that doesn’t address the flaws DEFCON attendees — and apparently at least one child — did find.

Nico Sell, founder of nonprofit r00tz Asylum, which teaches kids about white-hat hacking, told PBS NewsHour the flaws found by Emmett and other children at the event were “the real thing,” also saying:

These are very accurate replicas of all of the sites. These things should not be easy enough for an 8-year-old kid to hack within 30 minutes, it’s negligent for us as a society.

Others have criticized DEFCON’s Voting Village, where attendees attempt to crack voting machines, for providing an unrealistic display of voting circumstance, including Election Systems and Software (ES & S), one of the major providers of election equipment. It was quick to reassure customers the machines wouldn’t actually be as physically accessible on election day as they were at DEFCON.


In response to ES & S, DEFCON officials released a statement criticizing them for avoiding the issue:

ES&S’s unclear comments and threats towards the Voting Village seem to be designed to create questions and cast doubt in the minds of researchers and election officials, discouraging them from pursuing these vital lines of inquiry. At a time when there is significant concern about the integrity of our election system, the public needs now more than ever to know that election equipment has been rigorously evaluated and that vulnerabilities are not just being swept under the rug.

If nothing else, I look forward to seeing the kids to echo the achievement of DEFCONs past by rickrolling mock election websites.

A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, on Thursday ordered the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), to appear before it over the freezing the Benue government account.
NAN reports that the vacation judge, Justice Babatunde Quadri, gave the order after listening to submissions by counsel to the Benue Government, Mr Emeka Etiaba (SAN).
Other defendants in the suit are the Speaker, Benue House of Assembly, the Clerk, Benue House of Assembly, Benue House of Assembly, and the Auditor General, Benue State.
The court further directed the state government to serve all the relevant processes in the suit on the EFFC and other respondents before the next adjourned date.
Etiaba said the suit was filed in Makurdi, but he secured leave of court for the matter to be heard by a vacation court due to its urgent nature and since there was no vacation court in Makurdi.
Etiaba prayed the court to issue a preservative order restraining the EFCC from investigating the accounts of the state under any guise.
This, he said, was particularly without due authorisation of the Benue House of Assembly in line with Sections 128 and 129 of the Constitution.
The plaintiff also wants the court to determine among others:
“Whether by virtue of Sections 6, 7 and 38(1) of the EFCC Act 2004 or any other law, the EFCC or any other body has the power to investigate or inquire into the accounts of Benue Government.
“This is having regards to the clear provisions of Sections 1 ( 1) and (3), 125(2), (4) and (6), 128 and 129 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended).
“Upon favourable determination of the questions, the plaintiff is seeking a declaration that by the provisions of Sections 6, 7 and 38(1) of the EFCC Act and any other law, the EFCC or any other body does not have the power to inquire into the accounts of Benue Government.
“A declaration that in the absence of any resolution duly passed by the Benue House of Assembly pursuant to Sections 128 and 129 of the Constitution authorising the EFCC or any other body to investigate the accounts of Benue Government, the EFCC or any other body cannot commence or continue investigations with respect thereof.’’
The plaintiff also wants an order of perpetual injunction restraining the defendants from surrendering or sharing their powers of control over public funds of Benue as provided under Sections 128 and 129 of the Constitution to any other body, authority or person.
The matter was adjourned until Aug. 14 for hearing.

1. God is a God of Purpose. He does nothing without a purpose. Even though we don’t always know the purpose behind something, that doesn’t mean there isn’t one.
Ecclesiastes 3:1 puts it this way, ‘To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.’
Anyone who has lived a little life can tell you that there are circumstances and situations that we sometimes do not understand as they happen, but that their meanings become much clearer later on in life.
Everything that was created by God has a purpose – including us. This leads us to ask much bigger questions that many of us have tried to find the answer to for most of our lives: What is my purpose? Why am I here? What was I put on this earth to do/accomplish? But, knowing that the above statement is true, should lead us to seek answers to these questions from the creat-or, rather than the creat-ed.
2. Where purpose is not known abuse (abnormal use) is inevitable. This is such a profound statement and undeniably true. If everything has a purpose, but it’s purpose is left unknown, we will lack the knowledge of how to use it correctly. Or in other words, we will use it in a way that is ‘abnormal’ to the original use that was intended.

The Federal University of Agriculture Makurdi (UAM) in Benue State today, matriculated a total of 5, 069 students for the 2017/2018 academic session.
Of the number, 4, 369 are regular students while 150 are said to be in the sandwich programme and 550 postgraduate students.
Vice Chancellor, Prof. Anande Richard Kimbir, charged the new students to define their priorities and settle down quickly to face the challenges ahead as they may encounter some discomfort in their chosen course of study.
Kimbir also informed that an additional degree programmes in Biochemistry, Botany, Microbiology and Zoology have been set up in the College of Science while necessary structures are being put in place for drastic improvement of the institution’s global ranking

The driver of petrol tanker lost control of his truck this morning and rammed into a school in Ekpoma along Ekpoma-Abuja Express Way,Thankfully no one was in the building when the accident happened as the school was closed for the weekend.

Super Eagles midfielder, Alex Iwobi has revealed that he felt elated scoring the winning penalty in Arsenal’s pre-season game against Chelsea on Wednesday.

Iwobi who was put-on in the 63rd minute, was calm as he scored the final penalty in the International Champions Cup, ICC match that saw Arsenal beat Chelsea 6-5 on penalties after a 1-1 draw at the end of normal playing time.

Police in Mpumalanga, Johannesburg, South Africa are investigating what appears to be a spike in child kidnappings in the province following the murder of a six-year-old girl.

Noluthando Masango disappeared on Saturday, July 21, while attending a traditional ceremony with her grandmother. It is reported that she was in a room playing with other children while the adults were enjoying the ceremony outside when she suddenly went out of the room and never returned.

Her tiny bruised body was found in a shallow stream in Siyabuswa few days ago. Police suspect she may have been raped before she was killed.

Hours after Noluthando went missing, her kidnapper allegedly called her family and demanded for a R5000 ransom. She was raped and killed after her family missed the ransom deadline.



Her aunt Zanele Masango, 20, said Noluthando disappeared on July 21 at a traditional ceremony at home.

“The kidnapper called using a private number, and all we could hear was Noluthando crying in the background, calling out for her mother, Portia. The caller did not say anything. We received the call a number of times. On Sunday (July 22), the person sent a message to Gogo Leah’s phone. The person demanded that we deposit R5000 at Shoprite. We were also warned not to involve the police,” Zanele told The Star.

She said they informed the police, who advised them not to deposit the money.

“The person told us that we had until 1pm on Thursday (July 26) to deposit the money or he would kill Noluthando. The caller said he was sent by a relative to kidnap Noluthando. We still do not know who could do something like this.
“We did not deposit the money, and on Thursday just before 1pm, I identified Noluthando’s body after it was discovered in a stream. As soon as I got home, we received another text message and the person said he was aware that we had found Noluthando’s body,” Zanele said.



A post-mortem will be conducted to reveal the cause of her death, says Police spokesperson Leonard Hlathi says.

“People who kidnap and murder young children are heartless. There’s also a possibility that she might have been sexually molested, and this is what we’re exploring in terms of identification.” he said.

In a statement, Mpumalanga MEC for community safety, Pat Ngomane said it appeared that there had been a spike in child kidnappings, with the worst cases ending in death, while others fortunately ended in children being reunited with their families.

"Not long ago a 13-year-old, Katlego Marite, was abducted by men at Tasbett Park in Emalahleni, while another girl was abducted near her school in the same area of Siyabuswa," the statement read. Katlego was returned safely to his family.
'Children should not be worrying about safety'
Ngomane has condemned the killing children, saying that it destroys the social fibre of communities and the future of the country.

"What type of a society [is it] that constantly violates its children? It cannot be that children cannot walk freely in their own neighbourhoods," said Ngomane.

"We need to urgently remove these beasts from the society. We should never normalise evil. We must do [everything] in our power to ensure that the most vulnerable members of our society, especially children, are safe at all times."

He added that children should not be worrying about their safety but instead should be mainly preoccupied with their school work.

Ngomane asked police to urgently bring the suspect to book and that the criminal justice system ensures that those who are found guilty of any offences relating to the ill-treatment of minors receive lengthy jail sentences.
