Eyaaaahhh! Poor pensioners. Funny enough, for most of them, the same pension was their motivation for joining public service. You'd hear things like "enter civil service so that you can collect pension". Like seriously?! |
Safety first. No one can tell when it will happen. Always use your seat belt. But can our road safety authority stop by law and enforcement commercial vehicle drivers from carrying two passengers at the front seat? They can't and don't strap two people with the same belt na. |

speezyWears:Bro, shallow foundation is an error where the soil is not capable of holding the load of the building. I'm sure this particular case will not be far from this, hence the collapse. |

One of the few that have not given their lives to social networking, makeup/selfies, romance/telemundo and the likes. This one sure knows that there is a difference between internet and Facebook. |

We should have links to some of his works(websites) na. At least it's not a crime to visit any company's website. |
When children make money that is bigger than their psychological capacity. |
Ben Bruce comansee oooo! |
For me o, I always try to avoid all of the above by delivering the best. What I do first is to study my clients and understand what they would like/expect and try to work on my service delivery towards that direction. That's not to say I've not had one or two noices from some overbearing customers especially those who are in my age bracket. Those guys get wahala! No be say them get better money to pay for your services o, but they want the job to cost you arms and legs before they can feel satisfied. Meanwhile, my signature. |
shervydman:Brother, tax is a component of GDP. Before you are taxed, you must have been involved in some economic activities and earned income; isn't it? Now that income that you earned is it not part of GDP? Then government taxes you and that your tax now forms part of government spending which is an integral part of GDP. A mere look at the later part of your question will tell you more about what I'm explaining here. Those personal, corporate income and the goods and services you are talking about, are they not components of GDP? Don't forget what you were taught in your o'level economics that GDP = C + G + I + NX; where C is all private consumption, or consumer spending in the country, G is the sum of government spending, I is the sum of all the country's investment, including businesses capital expenditures and NX is the country's total net exports, which is total exports minus total imports. I'm sure from that equation you can identify where direct and indirect taxes you talked about fall into. |
Bede2u: shervydman:I think this is where you both are getting it wrong. Taxes don't fly in from heaven, they are derived from GDP. It is one of the means through which government gets income(revenue) from GDP (which is the sum total output of every economic entity) to finance its programmes and policies for the benefit of everybody that contributed to the GDP. That's why GDP and tax always change in the same direction. In this particular Nigerian case, government is invariably targeting increasing non oil revenue and tax will form a chunk of that. So they have to increase non oil income (output) first. |
We all know their real target; customers money. That bank can charge for Africa. The one wet dey pain me pass an account maintenance charge. Maintain what?! |
I think Sammie Okposo and Glo have had something before. Is he really a gospel musician or a gospel entertainer? I dunno! |
shervydman:Leave the guy; you were correct. He failed to understand that money is a measure of value. |
eakenbor:Is Nigerian economy not big enough to achieve that? A country of over 170m people? In case you don't know, they are talking about GDP here o. That includes the value of the goods and services you, me and foreigners produce in this country o. |
