@bold Of course and even since the abolition of slavery African Americans are able to mix more freely with whom they choose which obviously adds new characteristics to the gene pool that were not there during slavery.

This tends to be the case regardless of how dark an individuals skin complexion is. Remember African genes are usually dominant over that of other racial groups. So it would only take a couple of generations before the mix is no longer visible.

I happen to know a few Jamaican people who are half East Indian/Black. If they do not tell you, there would be no way of knowing!!

But who knows maybe some of the enslaved Africans taken to the US had some middle eastern ancestry.
