Thanks a lot. I see a clearer picture now.
So do you think I need a cover letter?
If yes; pls any pointers ??
It’s an LTD company but got no staffs for now.

justwise:

You can't convince the ECO that you pays yourself a salary as a sole business owner. Visa wise that makes no sense, in one man business winner takes it all.. what you make is profit and not salary.
Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by Jbaby09: 10:41pm On Mar 19, 2019
Thanks a lot.. also does it matter if I apply days after my salary is paid? Would that be seen as lodgment?

As a business owner, Is it compulsory I add incorporation company documents to my application.

Lastly, the cover letter that states I’m the owner of the business and also spells out my salary, who signs it ? Cos I don’t have an HR person yet. It’s still a 1 man limited liability company.

justwise:

Yes balance matters but it doesn't have to be in your salary account

Guys pls help. I don’t have a habit of leaving money in my account. 6months statement shows and defends my salary but I’ll rather save the excess. So I’ve a balance of about 60k but savings enough to cover the trip. Does my balance matter ?
@justwise pls

Please pardon me: I’ve searched for how many passport photos are needed. Can’t find that anywhere. Pls help state it. Also does anyone have a sample of the cover letter for a self employed applicant? Thanks

Thanks a lot. I’m new here and I must commend the unity and willingness to help.

Nothing wrong with that, you don't need to submit an expired passport but somewhere in the form you will be asked if you have used any other passport and the number.
Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by Jbaby09: 8:33am On Mar 18, 2019
Thanks a lot .. also please I booked my hotel but didn’t pay: used the option of paying at the hotel. Though the booking is confirmed but it also shows in the booking that I chose to pay at the hotel. Does that matter too. Also do you think I need to submit the expired passport with previous issued Uk visa?

justwise:

Get it stamped by your bank though online bank statement is acceptable in the UK but i'm not sure about Nigeria.
Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by Jbaby09: 12:34am On Mar 18, 2019
@justwise please as per bank statement, can I use the one printer off internet banking ?
Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by Jbaby09: 10:32pm On Mar 17, 2019
Thank you so much bless
justwise:

No if the hotel did not demand for payment.
Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by Jbaby09: 10:17pm On Mar 17, 2019
@justwise please do I have to pay for the hotel booking? Thanks.

SO HERE'S WHAT I DID....

FILLED THE APPLICATION FORM ONLINE
PAID THE APPLICATION FEES
PRINTED OUT THE COMPLETED FORM, ( PLEASE DON'T FORGET TO ADD A CHECKLIST TO THIGS THAT WILL BE MAILED TO IQAS) MADE COPIES OF ALL MY CREDENTIALS TO BE ASSESSED AND MAILED IT TO THEM (USED DHL)
THEN I REQUESTED TRANSCRIPT TO BE SENT OUT TO IQAS

I USED MY NIGERIAN ADDRESS AS HOME ADDRESS BUT USED A CANADIAN ADDRESS AS MAILING ADDRESS ( DIDN'T WANT TO PAY 75CD)

JUST FOLLOW ALL THATS INTHE CHECKLIST IT GUIDES YOU ON WHAT TO INCLUDE IN YOUR POSTAL PACKAGE.

AND THATS ALL

HOPE THIS HELPS

A VERY BIG CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!! MAY PPR FALL ON US ALL OOO.. CHAI!!!!!

My Nairaland Family,

All glory to God!!

Finally got the golden mail today.

First my story.

We got interested in this journey in Jan 2015 when express entry was introduced, but we didn't take the 1st step till Sept of 2015 when we took our IELTS. Started following this thread around mid 2016. I started my ECA in January 2016. My ECA took 1 year to process all because I wanted to have my Unilag Diploma 1 certificate accessed to meet the then very high cut offs. The program was defunct and there was no trace of any records. Finally, records office generated the result from my statement and sent in December 2016, only for WES to totally ignore it. By this time, scores had started to come down. But I still needed the 25 points that 2 or more certs would have given. ECA came out in March 2017 as BSc only. At this point, we were still contemplating making wifey the primary applicant as she was younger and had a masters and an LLb but only 1 year work. Long story short, cutoff visited 413 in May just to pick us up. We submitted out application on the very last day. Time line below.

ITA- May 31st
AOR-29th August
Meds passed and IP1- Sept 12th
NA2-Sept 13th
File moved to London VO- Oct 25th(got message of how to find a job in Canada)
Sent mail to confirm VO on 12th Nov, got confirmation of London on the 15th
Request to pay RPRF- Dec 5th
PPR- Dec 6th

We used a gift deed and only a small part of my bank statement as the six month printout was too large to upload.

Marriage cert had Civil Engr(my education) my job was in another NOC.

No LOE or anything
No ADR even though wifey has had a couple of visa refusals in the past.

I would like to encourage us that there is absolutely no reason to fear the dreaded London Visa Office as our very imperfect application scaled through in a reasonable time. Package your application to the best of your ability, be truthful, and follow CIC's instructions.

All the best to all hopefuls..

Ok. In the absence of information on ICES, you may consider IQAS since WES is not known (at least, so far on this forum) to have assessed LLB degrees as MSc equivalent. However, check the current processing times on their website.

You can for more dig information around ICES to make an informed decision. All the best!

Thanks a lot!!

I don't know about UK Law degree holders but generally, Law degree holders have been recommending IQAS due to their assessment of their LLB degrees as MSc equivalent. Please note that they are now very slow, about 30 working days or so. If you don't mind the processing times, IQAS seem to be better for lawyers.

Please read the posts of the following members for more insights while other lawyers also weigh in. What do you have-LLB or LLM?

Thanks for the prompt response.
I've got LLB

Good morning House!! Please has any U.K. LAW DEGREE HOLDER used ICES for ECA? Considering the waiting time of IQAS.

Best regards
