Programming / Re: Like How Much Should You Charge Clients For Crypto Discord Moderator Job? by Jedalord: 12:34am On Sep 08, 2023
Bloomsbury:
Please for those who work as a Crypto discord Moderator. Like how much do you charge clients for the job per month.

Any tips and suggestions would be appreciated

Never worked as one but a friend of mine back then during COVID was paid in Cryptos for a Telegram platform community 200 per month. Hence I believe you should net a better rate of 700 to 1000 depending on the community base and team behind it, whilst negotiating your terms and agreement.

I hope it help.

I did philosophy too but am actually abandoning that course for criminology. Well if you want to continue there are competitive masters courses such as

- Masters in Philosophy of Science and the Natural World

- Masters in Art, science and visual thinking

- Masters in Philosophy of Data and digital society

- Masters in Philosophy of politics and economics

In my opinion I'd opt for you to choose.

Philosophy of Data and digital society.

Then get an additional certification in data analysis or something.
Education / Re: I Made 4.38 CGPA And I'm So Happy... by Jedalord: 7:33am On Aug 15, 2023
Cooolme:
My final exams were just released, and I just confirmed my CGPA, you may be thinking why I am excited over it even though it's not first class but let me explain briefly.
Starting school at a young age, I had a tough time taking my studies seriously. I didn't pay much attention to my notes. This carried on into secondary school, where my grades were just average. I managed to score 188 in JAMB, 230 in my POST UTME, got 1b, and C's in my NECO, which I used to process my admission cos my school WAEC was withheld, and I didn't bother to retake it.
I was only 15 when I started university, a friend's candid portrayal of university life had prepared me for what lay ahead, or so I thought.
My first challenge was my roommate, a very unserious fellow. His mockery of my attempts to establish disciplined study habits took its toll on me, leading to a particularly trying semester during which I had 3 carry-overs, my worst ever.
Before the next semester began, I talked to my family about changing my lodge. They advised me to stay where I was until my second year, but deep down, I knew it wasn't right for me. So, I had to hustle up cash and with the help of my beloved aunt (RIP Ma'am) I was able to rent my own space, the best and most expensive lodge around school as at that time…
This time I will be staying alone till further notice, the GP hustle began. I would read and read, only me, as I never liked group reading or night class stuff. I began to excel academically, was a thing of joy, the last time I felt that brilliant was during my Junior secondary school days.
While I was improving my grades, I also needed to earn money. My family's support decreased because my dad was sick. So, I had to balance between learning skills for financial independence and keeping up with my studies. It wasn't easy, and I missed classes sometimes, but I kept trying. Eventually, things got better, and I was even able to buy a car last year.
But life threw a big challenge at me during the first semester of my final year, my dad passed away. I had to handle a lot of responsibilities as the first son, and to make things tougher, my uncles scheduled the burial a few days before my exams. I was sick during the exams, but I pushed through and did my best.
And now, the results are out, and I did really well. I've overcome this phase of my life, and I'm so grateful. It's not just about the grades; it's about the journey of going from struggling to succeeding. Thank God for guiding me through it all.
BSc Computer science in the bag, GOD DID!

Congratulations Chief!

I need suggestions on fruits bearing economic trees to plant. The place I want to plant it is far from home. So I need trees that don't require much attention (manures, weeding, pest control etc) to grow. I have bitter cola tree, cola nut, and I don't need orange, guava, cashew, paw paw, Africa apple, coconut, English and African pears. I am more interested in any berry; blueberries, raspberry, strawberry, blackberry, etc and if they can grow in Eastern Nigeria. My interest is purely any of the berries that grow in trees.
Check your Google sir
And there are certain berry plants that grow in Nigeria which grow in the tropics and can get you a reasonable pay if you are interested or go to an agricultural research institute where you are
I'm not a business man or farmer... Do whatever you will with the information. Good luck with your new venture

Then on the jobs listing part of the site, we've put up the sites I used (and still use) to search for remote work.
I also post entry-level jobs I find on the job listing to help people that want to apply, so they can apply directly.

Yes you can use the sites we posted to search for internships.
You should go through the site.
Thanks will check it out. Good luck with your project
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: How To Work For An International Company From Home (remotely), N450,000/month. by Jedalord: 1:46pm On Nov 15, 2021
TnoMai:
Hello all,

So quick intro: I've been a startup founder since I graduated in 2014 (Computer Science) and I've always done that. This year my co-founder and I decided to stop working with private organizations (this was how we got funds to take care of our needs and reinvest into our startups) as they don't pay well and mostly owe you money.
We needed a more stable and lucrative source of income so we can keep pushing our startup ideas on the side.

I started applying for jobs in August and decided to only look for remote work with Startups in the UK, US, & Asia. Nigerian companies don't pay well (maybe can't) for many reasons.
My co-founder doesn't have this problem as he lives in the UK (we met in Uni) so getting a good coding job would be very easy for him.

My startup skills are mostly focused on sales, project management, and business development. As you can imagine my CV is very weird, as I only have work experience with myself as the founder, this made it a bit difficult to make progress with job applications.
As I continued to apply, I eventually realized mistakes I was making and improved on my selection of jobs, since then I've had 5 video interviews, 3 went with someone else with 2 hopefully getting back to me this week or next.

The major thing I noticed is that they're quite a few job opportunities that are open to people from Nigeria (Global Remote), other remote jobs still require you to be in the UK or US. More interestingly, some of them don't require you to have a specialized skill like coding or finance, just a good command of English (speaking and writing) then good time management.

Most of these jobs are virtual assistance, data entry, appointment setter, customer care, telemarking, etc.
They're very entry-level but most have an average pay of $5/hr.
That's $40 per day, which is $200 per week (excluding Saturday & Sunday), totaling $800 per month.
Approximately N450,000 per month, that's really good money for most Nigerians!
Let's not forget these are still entry-level jobs, some applicable to fresh Uni graduates (blame our trash economy/exchange rate).

So I decided (startup habit) to build something to help Nigerians look for remote work online.
It's a website with hints on how to apply, interview, and get paid.
It also has a list of sites that are very helpful in finding those jobs (from experience) and finally, I personally search for the most entry-level jobs that are global remote and post them there every few days for others to see and apply.
If you're interested, please check it out, ask me if you have any questions, and please share with anyone that you think might need/want it.
https://workabroadfromhome.online/

P.s - This is version 1 of the site and it's MVP, not super impressive.

Kudos to you guys. I hope it goes through successfully
Would it also work for internships?
And what payment platform does it adopt?
Thanks
Education / Re: How To Obtain A Scholarship For Free by Jedalord: 10:57am On Oct 25, 2021
Jbjones:
The Scholorship for Free tutoring program started in the United States back in the mid-1990s. It is a partnership between the United States Federal Government and several private companies to offer free tutoring services to students across the nation. The tutors are known as "scholars" who are professionals in their respective fields of study. These professional tutors will be responsible for answering student questions and helping them prepare for their school work.

In return for this service, the companies get access to the thousands of books that are in the public library system. The curriculum used in most public schools does not provide enough reading, writing, and critical thinking skills to the children who participate. Since most students do not realize how much their performance affects their grades, they become discouraged. The [https://bay-area-tutoring-association.business.site/]Scholorship for Free Tutoring program[https://bay-area-tutoring-association.business.site/] provides students with reading and writing resources that are designed to help them succeed in school. The resources include reading lists, worksheets, essays, and other classroom activities that help students learn and grow in their learning process.

Most students also want to be recognized for what they have learned. Students who feel that they are doing well usually strive to get higher grades so that they can become more successful in their future studies. A good way to make sure that your child receives an A or B, is to encourage them to read more. Reading a book is a great way to stimulate the mind. Additionally, students who regularly read will tend to excel in science, math, English, and history classes. This is one of the reasons why reading is such a fundamental part of all learning.

Many students have a hard time paying for their own school supplies like textbooks and test materials. A large portion of these costs go to the very top - the textbook. If your child is in high school and needs a new book, all you need to do is ask their teacher if they will be able to give it to them for free tutoring. Often times, the teacher will be happy to see you as well since it saves them from having to purchase the books for you.

In the current economic climate, it is a lot more difficult for many students to pay for their own tuition and books. Free online tutoring is beneficial for these students because it allows them to earn some extra money to help pay their educational costs. This money is typically used for extra funds for school clothes, lunch, transportation, or any other expendable expenses. Most schools are willing to offer this service because it benefits them, as well.

When applying for Scholorship for Free Tutoring, students need to be prepared to provide all the necessary information about themselves. They should be honest with their teachers in terms of their academic performance, work habits, and personal life. It is important for the tutor to know this information before beginning the tutoring process. A successful teaching process begins with a good student-teacher relationship. Students should feel comfortable and welcome to approach the tutor for questions.

During the tutoring session, a student may ask his or her teacher questions about the subject matter covered in class. The teacher should be willing to answer the question without hesitation. If not, the student should consider asking another student in the class for assistance. If the student has questions outside of the classroom that he is unsure of, he should feel comfortable sharing those questions with the other students taking the same course. There is no need to be embarrassed to ask for help from other students.

If a student is interested in becoming more proficient in his or her field, he or she should apply to attend the college or university of his choice. This way, the student can gain valuable experience that will help him or her later in the same field. He or she will also have a leg up on the competition. Prospective students can even earn their Scholorship for Free, which offers full tuition and financial aid for those who qualify. If a student is accepted into the program, he or she will receive a certification in writing and oral communications, as well as a year of active participation at the school.

Wow that's cool, is it those "charter schools" that I used to hear about? I would like to know more about it

In my opinion, most local market participants make their decisions on fundamental analysis and market sentiments. The problem with these are numerous. They can't be measured, most of the information/data available to the retail trader is reactive/expired.
Just technical analysis, nothing more.

My analysis would be done using the following methods.
a. Fibonacci suite of tools
b. Principles of Elliott Waves
c. Chart patterns
d. Candlestick patterns
e. Oscillators, divergences & reversals

This is not a solicitation to participate in any WhatsApp group or investment program. Just an opportunity to help out a few people with questions about candlestick trading.

As long as it's a tradable asset; whether Forex, Cryptocurrency, Stocks or Metals, feel free to bring it up for Technical Analysis here.

How can you expect to find a great investment (trade setup) if you first of all don't know what a great investment (trade setup) looks like and you are not willing to invest the time to look for the investment

I want a revenge !!!! Call me petty, idgaf.
My name is Jeremy, I'm respectful, friendly but I get pained easily. I came here to pour out my mind and to seek good opinion.

There is a pretty girl I know right from secondary school days, we were not friends in secondary but fast forward into three years post secondary school, we started chatting. We had smooth conversations, although I was always the first to get in touch with her and also the first to chat her up.

I never for once hit on her , flirted with her or disrespected her in any way. I noticed I was always the last person to text and the first person to start another chat. I once waited weeks inbetween but she never texted until I did. Sometimes she never replied my text (Not a bad text in any capacity).

Two months after I decided to check on her three days ago by chatting her up . Her replies were to short to the extent that she replied one of my statements with just a word.

Please Fam, I just wanna save my face and regain my respect. What can I do to make her feel how I feel at the moment. I just want to make her have a taste of her own medicine, the feeling of being ignored.

Lol just ignore her and block her if she gets to try to link up with you, snub her and never look back. She'd try to call you names, poke your ego or incite some anger just smile and ignore and I repeat never look back.
You're just young like I am, don't let it bother you. It's one of those things you'd see from time to time
The right girl would come around, never be needy for a girl's attention.
+ Never text more than once, always wait for a reply
And it's funny you call her pretty, there's more prettier girls than she is, I know what I'm saying, don't listen to these guys insulting you, I understand how you feel bro, time heals and you'd laugh this phase off in a matter of time

It's more like everyone is doing the same things nowadays. You hear someone has gotten investments from vc's but when you check what they are doing its just shockingly the same. Although there are a few tweaks to it. If you check well it's just blatantly the same. One industry that these happen mostly is fintech. While it's good to spot trends and opportunities, is it still in vogue or best advisable to just ripp off another startup idea with the hope that you can conjure something different and scale up?

Education / Re: Brief Guide For Developing A Research Proposal by Jedalord: 2:47pm On Oct 15, 2021
Divinwac:
A research proposal has two purposes: it explains and justifies why a research problem needs to be addressed, and it also provides practical techniques for carrying out the proposed study.Research proposal rules are more demanding and less formal than generic research projects rules since the design features and methodologies for conducting research are established by standards of the primary subject in which the challenge is located. The majority of research ideas include detailed literature evaluations.

They must demonstrate that the proposed research is required. A proposal includes a rationale, specific procedures for doing the research in accordance with the professional or academic field's criteria, and a statement about the expected outcomes and the benefits of the study's completion.

A proposal should include all of the components needed to organize a completed research study, as well as enough information for readers to evaluate the study's validity and use. The study's findings and your analysis of those findings are the only things missing from a research proposal. Finally. The quality of your proposal's writing will determine its effectiveness, so make it cogent, clear, and compelling. Research proposals, like most college-level academic articles, are organized in the same way throughout most social science subjects. A ten to thirty-five page text is followed by a list of references in most proposals. Before you begin, thoroughly read the assignment and, if anything is unclear, ask your professor whether there are any special planning or writing requirements. The following sections should be included in most proposals:

Introduction: In the real world of higher education, a research proposal is often submitted by scholars seeking grant funding for a research projects or as the first step in obtaining approval to write a research project. Even if it's just for a class assignment, use the beginning as an initial pitch of an idea or a deep study of the significance of a research problem. After reading the introduction, your readers should not only understand what you want to achieve, but they should also get a sense of your love for the subject and be excited about the study's potential outcomes. It's worth mentioning that most proposals don't include an introduction or a summary (abstract).
Background Information and Importance:

This is where you describe the context of your concept and why it's important. To aid in the organization and narrative flow of your proposal, it can be incorporated into your introduction or divided into its own section. Keep in mind when writing this section that your readers will not be as knowledgeable about the study matter as you are. This isn't an essay in which you describe all you've learned about the subject; rather, you must choose the information that is most important to comprehending the study's goals.

Review of the Literature: The context and significance of your study are linked to a section of your proposal dedicated to a more careful review and synthesis of previous studies relevant to the research area under investigation. The idea is to place your study in the framework of existing research while simultaneously demonstrating to your audience that your work is innovative and distinctive. Consider the questions that other researchers have asked, the methods they used, and how you would interpret their findings and, if applicable, their recommendations.

Because a literature review contains a lot of information, it's crucial that this section be well-structured so that a reader can comprehend the key aspects that support your proposed study in comparison to other researchers'. Rather than discussing groups of things one by one in a methodical or chronological manner, it is a good idea to divide the literature into "conceptual categories" (themes). It's worth mentioning that conceptual categories normally emerge after you've read the majority of the relevant literature on your topic, so adding new categories is a process of discovery that continues as you read more studies. How do you know you've covered all of the important conceptual categories in the research literature? You can be confident that all of the important conceptual categories have been uncovered when you start to notice recurrence in the conclusions or recommendations that are being made.

NOTE: If you're justifying the need for your idea, don't be scared to criticize current study conclusions. Examine what you believe is missing, and explain how previous research has failed to adequately investigate the subject of your study.

You are not undertaking the study; therefore, this section must be well-written and logically organized. Your reader, on the other hand, must believe that it is worthy. Based on the study's findings, the reader will never be able to determine whether your methodological decisions were correct. As a result, the purpose here is to persuade the reader that your overall study plan and suggested analysis procedures will properly address the problem, and that the methodologies will provide the skills to effectively evaluate the probable outcomes. The design and methods used in your study should be clearly linked to the study's specific objectives.

To summarize the overall study design, build on and draw examples from your literature review. Take into account not only the processes used by previous researchers, but also data collection methods that have not been used but could be. Be specific about the data collection methods you intend to use, the data evaluation procedures you intend to employ, and the external validity tests you intend to perform (i.e., the trustworthiness with which you can extrapolate from your study to other people, places, events, and/or time periods).

Preliminary Hypotheses and Consequences: You should discuss the analytical process and its repercussions even if you aren't responsible for conducting the investigation or assessing the results. The purpose of this part is to explain how and why you believe your research will improve, amend, or extend existing knowledge in the subject area. Depending on the aims and objectives of your study, describe how the expected results may change future academic research, theory, practice, forms of intervention, or policymaking. It's worth emphasizing that these conversations could be about something substantive (a potential new policy), theoretical (a potential new understanding), or methodological (a potential new approach) (a potential new means of studying).
The conclusion confirms the significance of your proposition and summarizes the entire inquiry. This part should be one or two lines long and should emphasize why the research problem is important to investigate, why your research study is unique, and how it will contribute to current understanding.

Citations: Like any other scholarly research work, you must cite the sources you used. This section of a standard research proposal can take two forms, so discuss which one is ideal with your supervisor.
References: The materials you used or cited in your submission are the only ones listed.
Bibliography: This section provides a list of everything you used or cited in your proposal, as well as citations to any key sources for understanding the research problem.

In either case, this section should show that you did adequate planning to ensure that your research would complement rather than duplicate other scholars' efforts. Create a new page in the center of the page with the heading "References" or "Bibliography." Cited works should always be formatted in a standard manner that corresponds to the writing style specified by your course's field or the style preferred by your project supervisor. This section is typically excluded from the total number of pages in your research proposal.
Thanks a lot sir
