MeAboki: Yes, if the president was from the north he would still make the same statement, because northerners are more honest co-travelers and not typical hypocrites like you.I am happy you didn't result to insulting OUR PRESIDENT as Mr Gamji did. If I should respond to ur post paragraph by paragraph, I will start by faulting ur claim that northerners are more honest; it is not provable! And to call Southerners hypocrites, shows you have very little knowledge about us. Going on to ur 2nd paragraph, u claimed that Northern governors are already doing enough: whose failure led to the escalation of the boko haram menace? According to Imam Ibrahim Ahmed Abdullahi, an iman that knew how boko haram started( even b4 dey became outrightly violent), he claimed that himself, and oda Islamic scholars, on several occasion, reported the activities of the group to d state gov but notin was done. It ws even reported that military intelligence in Maiduguri, was restrained from attacking the group in 2009 wen it ws reported they have been aquiring weapons. For reasons best known to the gov, he chose to shield the group. What if sara suka in Katsina state begins a violent outburst tomorrow, will u blame the president? Or wat of d madinatu muheenu handallah islamic sect in Niger state? Is the President's job to oversee the states? Listen up! Before any crisis becomes a national issue, it will first be a state issue; and a failure of the state gov to manage it properly is wat will transform it into a national issue- even the crisis of militancy in the Niger-Delta was like that. Also, how much have the northern govs done about d continuous attacks by Fulani herdmen? Over 130 ppl were killed in Sanga LG(kaduna state) late last month, wat has been done? Gov yero didn't even visit d place bt sent his deputy. Didn't the state governors also swear to protect the people of their state as well as the integrity of the nation? How well have they done that? What has Kano state gov done to secure sabon - gari (the christian dominated part of kano) dat has constantly been attacked by d insurgents? Or is it becos most of the people there are southerners that's why little is being done? If the groups I mentioned about and other groups scattered throughout the north that hide under the guise of 'religious societies' to perpetrate their evil desires. Will you blame the president for failing to protect the citizens of the states? If anybody is a hypocrite, it has to be Northern leaders that can't separate politics from religion and ethinicity. That's why they rap about ppl pickin on fulanis wen we all kw they are one of the most troublesome group of ppl in the country. I know you will want to quickly remind me that not all northerners are muslims; I know that already and I will also not go into the conspiracy in kaduna during the crisis in 2000 as well as the circumstances that led to namadi sambo becoming d gov instead of isaiah balat or that whc led to d death of Patrick yakowa. If by withdrawing their security details, you are refering to the state of emergency declared in some states, I would like u to tell me what else d president should hav done wen it was evident dat d governors were not seriously tackling d matter head on? Infact the govs were economical wit d true situation of tins and u kw it. They were playing down d severity of d situation out of selfishness so they can retain control of their states. But if wat u are refering to, is d impeachment of the gov of Adamawa, and d plot to impeach Tanko Al Makura, I will hav u kw, dat I'm against those moves. Hw sure are u dat dey were instigated by d president? Jonathan is not PDP mind you. But allow the politicians play their politics as it suit dem afterall al makura may decide to decamp to pdp tomorrow, and yero may decide to join apc. Let us learn to accept our faults when they are ours and not blame others. Don't give a dog a bad name so as to kill it. The govs run the states along with the state assembly. The president gets feedback frm d govs, and would interfere only when the matter had become too big for the gov to handle. If the president does wrong, criticise him constructively, he is human and a repository of wisdom and knowledge. I mean, it is not easy fathering a single family, Not to talk of leading over 170million people! But don't transfer another man's blame to OUR PRESIDENT. Blame your governors for the failure of your states. |
I wonder why Nigerians like travelling abroad when they know for sure, they don't have any established structure on ground or anything tangible to do there in term of job ![]() Reminds me of a guy that stole his father's retirement benefits to pay for a trip to spain through the desert of north africa, only to be deported less than a week of entering Spain for scaling the fence into someone else's compound to pluck apple( obviously, the guy thought he was in Naija where u can enter another man's house to pluck mango). The funny thing is that, they didn't return him to Nigeria. Instead, he another deportees were dumped in Cameroon ![]() |
Willy1willy: I like the way the country is heading, DEATH TO NIGERIAsome people said that about Christianity many many years ago, yet they are all dead and forgotten, and Christianity is still growing from strength to strength...I hope you know what that means? |
Gamji007: We have a sitting president in the country and the idiotic isn't saying anything about this looming ethnic crisis?would you have said this, if the president was from the north? If the president should be commenting on matters like this, what should your governor do? If the president is supposed to be ruling the states, why do you have governors? Do you know the boko haram menace in the north, wouldn't have become a national issue, had your governors done what necessary? |
Our people say,''na play play dem dey take tel oldman say im mouth dey smell.'' I must commend whoever wrote this piece, for using literature with humour to pass a sound message. It is unfortunate, that the president is surrounded by people who have personal interest in government. People who may not represent the interest of the general public. Some of these people are bad- spoilin d govt from d inside. I wouldn't blame d president too much for this; I will first blame the constitution that insist on equitable representation in government. This sometimes, forces the president in power, to bring into government, people who may not have the interest of the nation at heart- especially given the fact that, there are guidelines for selecting political appointees( guidelines that always seem to rule out those without strong political feet/godfather, even if they have more to offer) The President no doubt need to do more to stamp his authority as the head of govt in Nigeria. While he is devising new and more effective ways of doing it, LET US ALL SUPPORT HIS TRANSFORMATION AGENDA FOR THE GOOD OF US ALL. GEJ2015 ![]() |
rightym: not £9 million but £12.6 million.I have checked it again and again it is still £9m plus add-ons that will amount to £10m. I have nothing against Ideye; infact, it would be my joy to see Nigerian players bought /sold for multi-million pounds. Maybe you got your news from caughtoffside.com. I know they are specialists in incorrect news. As for the insult on my club, I will pass on that but we still remain the most unique club in football. |
artade: 35 years ago (when they got married) minus 3 years (since she died in 2011) plus 19 years is 'about' 50 or 51. Plus or minus some months, he's obviously not wrong in his calculations.haba! All these mathematics just to calculate how long they've been married? Anyway, I don't blame him afterall it is the women that are good with dates and numbers in relationship. |
Let me ask you @ OP Is suicide the solution to depression? |
A £9million player is the record signing! No wonder West Brom is where it is. Big congrats to Brown Ideye, hope he excels and win his way back into the National team because we missed him at the worldcup. But you guys should free Mikel joor, he wasn't the only player that didn't live upto expectation in Brasil after all. Infact, it is better we leave the worldcup in the past, and start looking forward to the New league season. A season when the sky and the pitch will be blue all through- the real blue not the 'noisy neighbours' blue Halla Chelsea!!! |
I think they've heard my call almost immediately because Brown Ideye has signed for West Brom for £9m and will wear the no9 jersey. |
Stories of the Bush administration...over the years, women have been defying the odds; and that's how it will remain. |
If these are photos from a new jurassic park movie, then the movie is sure going to be boring as usual.. |

LaurelP: I hear youno o! Omawumi is my sister o- we no jst hapy say she neva bring her pikin papa come house wit kola and palm wine |
Shey dey said people do crazy things in love? Ehn na she lied for the sake of love na . But really @ OP I don't think you are mentally ready for marriage life. You rushed into it for reasons best known to you and now that u are faced with a challenge, you want to chicken out claiming the age difference is the reason. I wonder what you guys have been discussing in three years of dating that you didn't in that time find out her true age. She too didn't do right; a relationship born out of lie can be devastating but there shld be room for forgiveness. I'm sure she did it out of fear that she would lose u If I must advise you, I will say you should act as if she isn't older and continue as u used to before u discovered she is older. Afterall, her looks and behaviour have not suddenly changed frm wat dey used to be simply because u hav discoverd she is older |
#singing in MJ's voice. Hav u seen my childhood? I'm searching 4d world dat I come from Cos I've been looking around. In the lost and found of my heart... No one understands me They view it as such eccentricities Cos I kip kidding around.. |
Lack of socialising while young could be one of the reasons why our politicians, are so stingy they embezzle public fund. Afterall, they didn't mingle well enough to realise that all fingers are not equal. Well as for me, I don't miss my childhood one bit because I passed all my play courses with straight As. There wasn't a single children's play that reigned in my days that I didn't participate in ![]() |

I wonder why Ibadan has turned out to be the capital of bad news these days; rape today, armed robbery the next day.. |
LaurelP: wat abt dia dads?don't you know most American celebrities were brought up by single moms? They may not even know who the dad is just like omawumi who doesn't know the actual father of her child. |
This concept will *wow* anybody. Gush! |
Red alert! Red alert! A komodo island dragon is on the loose!!! |

veezy84: Why.....we needed four years of rehabilitation jawerightly said. You share my views. |
*sigh!!!* Truth be told! This world is fastly coming to an end.. |
pro01: No doubt. I think that will happen before 2019. . .especially if the current economic revitalisation efforts of Jonathan's administration are sustained.nice talk bro. #teamGEJtill2019 |
This is one of the best write-up I have read on NL. God bless the source of this masterpiece. |
As a football lover, I have been keenly following the latest development in the European transfer market where players have been crossing camps (both within and outside the country where their club sides is located)on daily basis. Africans have not been left out as there transfer romours about players from Ivory Coast, Egypt, Ghana, Benin Republic and even Algeria. But nothing about players from the no. 3 ranked team in Africa. Even in cases where Nigeria players get to move, they are not unveiled publicly in their club sides. Is it that Nigerian players are not attractive enough for the European Market or what? |
